Cats are known to be unpredictable if you don't understand their tells, and, who knows, the cameraman may have had a poor experience with a cat that he was never able to get past! I know a few people who are wary of cats because they didn't grow up with them or because they had a poor experience

I hope my kitty never needs a professional groom. He is a big, orange cat who hates being restrained (but loves attention). I think he's safe though, as he is short-haired and likes to be brushed.

Vanessa, I found some really quiet clippers made by Wahl, called "Pro Ultra Quiet", and they made a HUGE difference when trimming my cats. Since I have a serval (!!!), two Maine Coons, and a 22 lb Ragdoll, getting them all groomed without getting accidentally mauled is really important.
(For those curious, that's 4 cats totalling 127 lbs.)

Mine is the exception that proves this rule! I always feel so surprised when she asks for tummy rubs/belly brushing. (Only taken me nearly 60 years for such a cat to claim me as their hooman.)
I have been lucky. I have had two cats (both male) who adored belly rubs. (One of them also loved veggies, dancing, and listening to my mother's voice on the phone. He would even chitter back to her. That cat was truly odd.)

Now that I own my own long-haired cat, I realize how hard it can be to keep their fur from matting. Especially when they like to hide under things and hate the brush. You’re a lifesaver!

I've had 2 medium haired tuxedo kitties. Both super fluffy with extremely plumey tails. The first one had a very soft tongue and got matted. The 2nd has a tongue like a metal file, I can't even stand him to give me a lick as it feels like he is stripping the skin off my body! He has had a total of 2 tiny matts in his entire life, and he is 16 and absolutely will not be brushed. It really seemed to make a huge difference in how hooked the tongues were, with the soft tongue being more ineffectual for grooming, and the extremely raspy tongue doing an extremely effective job. Had never really thought about cat tongues not being the same before that! Love your channel😻

Purrogi. Oh my goodness. She is so cute, and what a name! Also, Vanessa, the 'whoop!' sound as you were feeling for matting was awesome. My poor old girl has a fair bit of matting on her tummy - I'm trying to get it slowly with scissors not to frighten her. She's a floofball too, though not a Persian. Unfortunately, I do not have a trimmer. "I hate shaving matted armpits." LOL - so would I. But I bet Miss Purrogi hated HAVING matted armpits, too. You're awesome.

Thank you Vanessa, for treating pets with the respect they deserve. The fact they exist is humanity's problem in the first place, so it really bothers me when people mistreat them even slightly. Heck I really want a pet but I won't since I know whilst working full time I can't give them the life they truly deserve. I have massive respect for people that take in strays though, because at least the life they can give is better than a stray.

Thank you for doing so many kitties lately! I feel like it's helped me do better with the maintenance for my own cat (though trying to do his nails is ridiculous every time) because I can actually SEE how to do things and kinda learn what to avoid.
I love the name! Purrogi! So adorable. That's probably why she was so sensitive about having her belly touched, somebody probably tried to help her with that belly matting. She looked beautiful at the end.
