Hi Geoff, Chuck, & Victor !! Great show guys, thank you !!!! Chuck happy you are healthy. Victor happy things worked out for you going to Ottawa University in Surprise,Ariz. Geoff good luck with your move. As soon as I heard Kim went to the Dodgers, I basically said, LA gets whoever they want. With health Dodgers probably will be even better. Our Angels, 2025 should be a continued building process, keep giving the kids experience. Hopefully with some luck ??? get high 70s wins ??? Maybe take a big step forward by 2026. You guys are right, for player transactions it has been silence since Thanksgiving. Maybe it's me but right now we seem to have a logjam at corner outfield and DH. It's about 5 weeks till Tempe, will Perry make a move ? If we sign Santander it further complicates it. We'll all see what happens, it will be interesting to watch. I'm really looking forward to Christian Moore's spring training. He's close if not ready. If he does just ok in spring then a little more development at Rocket City or SLC would be alright. Sometime in 2025 he should be ready. Christian like every player has strengths and weaknesses but he is a winner and a gamer and there is electricity in his bat. Very soon, we could have an elite player. Take good care everyone Go Angels !!!!
I wish we got Kim. Our infield defense would've been second to none. I heard Ohtani convinced him to play for the Dodgers instead. They share the same agent as well.
Let's face it. Almost no one wants to play for the Angels. All the players they signed, besides Kikuchi, are SoCal natives who just wanted to be in SoCal because their careers will be over in 2 years. So Newman, Kendricks and D'Arnaud signed with the Angels to prepare for retirement. 😂
Ahhh! An Angels show. The definition of futility and desperation. One of the hardest things to do must be to root for a team that is a laughing stock of an organization. You guys do deserve better.
100%. I don't believe this whole narrative that the Angels are trending up simply because they have a few DECENT young prospects that may or may not become cornerstones to a rebuild. Eppler and Moreno bungled things so badly, they set the Angels back AT LEAST a decade.
The only players coming here are guys capitalizing one one good season and guys whose careers are hanging on by a thread. No big name wants to play here unless you significantly overpay
Arte keeps kicking the can down the road. Hes completely okay with mediocrity and alot of lets just wait and see. It takes a team and depth, no one or two players can save this franchise, im sure they are thinking well make another big signing once we get rendon off our books. I dont see why they cant tell him stay home, and angels can somehow keep 10-15 million from his deal. Just have an early departure, i see no way he can be anymore active then last few years. 2 more years of rendon is deadful.
Angel fans got buttercupped yet again. Make sure you go out and spend more money on this inept franchise. Remember, pitching wins and we don’t have pitching. Hendricks and Anderson in the same rotation is a joke. Looking forward to another 4th place finish 👏🏻
4th place?? They were last in 2024 and they A's added Severino and Springs to a team that won 6 more games than the Angels did. ESPN's "Way too early 2025 rankings" has the A's ranked 26th and winning 75 games. The Angels are better than the 2024 team, but still significantly worse than the 2023 team with Ohtani. Assuming Trout can play half the season like he did in 2023 (BIG if based on the last 5 years), this team will be somewhere between the two teams. Kikuchi is not as good as Ohtani was on the mound in 2023. And Soler is not as good as Ohtani was at the plate. So if this is the best Minasian can do, this team will MAYBE win 70 games in 2025. Enough wins to finish....dead last. Again. However, IF Trout continues his 5 year trend of missing significant time, along with Neto starting on the IR, this team will lose 95+ games again and will have a chance to lose 100 games for the first time in franchise history.
@@mattosso7676 If everyone stays healthy (which is a big if) then I can see the Angels battling it out for 4th. But I have no faith in this team whatsoever, especially when the rotation consist of Hendricks and Anderson.
💯% agree that pitching, ➡️ especially starting pitching, ➡️ wins games consistently. As it currently stands, the Angels will not be competitive in 2025 ➡️ unless every player on the roster is healthy for the entire season and performing at their optimum levels. Thus, the Angels should attempt to trade Taylor Ward and Tyler Anderson ➡️ for five 5️⃣ pitching prospects (primarily starting pitching prospects) now. Then, the Angels will have an abundance of pitching talent to trade for position player talent, but only if necessary. When Christian Moore and their 2025 number one draft pick are ready, the Angels may be able to contend for at least a wild card in 2026 or 2027. Acquiring high level prospects through trades (Logan O’Hoppe) and the draft (Christian Moore, Nolan Schanuel, Zack Neto, and their 2025 number one draft pick) and then developing those high level prospects is “the way” for the Angels to get back to contention.
@bouncingball101 Exactly. Pitching is the Key and they have attempted to get pitching right since Jered Weaver retired. Both MLB and ESPN have initial predictions/rankings that have the A's ahead of the Angels. Which, if these predictions hold, means the Angels will finish 5th again. Angels have improved a little bit. Their pitching staff (on paper) looks better than last season. (But that's not saying much.) But they still aren't as good as the 2022 rotation. So they are somewhere in between 2022-2024. That was WITH Ohtani and a healthy Trout, who played 119 games and hit 40 HRs. And they STILL only managed 73 wins. Neto is going to miss time. And when he is able to play again, he will rehab in the minors until he's ready. And even then, we have no idea how he'll rebound. Even if he makes a full recovery, the missed time means the Angels will likely be starting Newman at SS. Although is a better fielder, doesn't have the power at the plate that Neto brings. A Neto is much more of a threat on the basepath. And then you have a whole bunch of guys coming off IR that we have NO idea how they will perform (including Trout) So, I'm predicting this team, as currently constructed, will win 70 games. And that ONLY happens IF Kikuchi and Hendricks pitch well, Trout not only stays healthy, but hits 40+ HRs, Soler hits 30+ HRs, Stephenson becomes a factor in the bullpen, Neto misses minimal time, Schanuel improves his power, Moniak returns to his 2023 form, Ward plays like he did in 2022...if ALL of those happen and the team stays relatively healthy.... then they win 70 games. Yet another sub-.500 season. Hardly anything to get excited about.

In my opinion, the way for the Angels to get back to contention is to build through acquiring high level prospects and then letting those prospects develop. The Angels already have a good young core of high level position players, such as ➡️ Christian Moore, Logan O’Hoppe, Nolan Schanuel, Zack Neto, and either Ethan Holliday or Jace Laviolette with their 2025 first round draft pick. It will take time (a couple of years), ➡️ but once it occurs, then sustained success is not only possible, but probable.

Agreed. The angels are the NY Jets of baseball. Bad Ownership. Bad management. Bad player development. Inept players. Underperforming "stars". etc...
This pod made me realize how crappy Epplar was as a GM and set the Angels years back. With draft picks and international misses and overpays.

Or SoCal guys who want to move back home so they can be with their families when they retire in 2 years. 😆

They way you show your dissatisfaction is simple. Stop going to games. Stop buy Angels merch. Boycott. Money is the only thing Moreno cares about.

There are six that I’m aware of.
