Amazing work - saved me a huge amount of time. Just one quick tip: rather than splitting the position values into separated dimensions you can use the expression [value[0], wiggle(5,1)[1]] which means positionX= any assigned value and positionY = to wiggle. Cheers mate!
Thanks! :) But yeah it's true what you say. As this is an older tutorial, I figured that out as well in the meantime. Here is a tutorial I made a while back that goed a bit deeper into some Wiggle expressions and also contains the one you mentioned: ua-cam.com/video/3zf3AIYuL0E/v-deo.html Cheers! :)
I am wondering why I could not find your channel earlier. You are creating videos on topics that are very rare and thank you so much for that. I always found AE to be very complicated and boring but you made it look so easy. I wish you all the success. Thanks again :)
Great tutorial! If you wanted the wheels to never move lower than a certain Y position, is that possible within an expression? For instance, if you wanted to make sure the wheels never went lower than the hypothetical ground they're rolling on.
Yeah that's on the list. Not actual modelled 3D object but I will do a tutorial about the 3D layers in After Effects. So those are basically 2D layers in a 3D space. So look out for it soon! :)
Hi there, thank you for creating this! I'm wondering if you just wanted to have the car bounce in the front, after you created the anchor point in the back wheel how would you animate?
Hey Jordan, thanks for watching! :) If you just want the car to bounce in the front, only give the front wheel the wiggle expression, not the back wheel. That way the back wheel doesn't bounce :)
Hey! I think the best thing that you can do, is to make a timeline of 5 seconds and create your animation with the wiggle expressions just like in the video. If you want to loop it in 5 seconds, that means that the last and the first frame need to be the same. I made a video a little while back about the best ways to use wiggle expressions. I suggest you check that one out. In there I tell about how you can convert your wiggle expressions to keyframes on your layer. That way, you can alter each keyframe however you want. So you can copy your last keyframe, and past it on the first frame. That way, you'll have a perfect loop of the duration you want :) Here is the video: (The part I'm talking about is around 07:58 min) ua-cam.com/video/3zf3AIYuL0E/v-deo.html Hope this helps! Cheers :)
My animation is going slow. I made it 5.5 minutes. Is there a way for me to accelerate the animation without restarting all over again? The ice cream truck is going too slow.
Hey. It shouldn't matter how long your timeline is, the speed of the vehicle is determined by the wiggle paramaters. So if you want it to look like it's going slower, you should alter the first digit in the wiggle expression. That determines how many times a second your object wiggles. So if it wiggles less, then it should appear to go slower. Let me know if this helps you out. Cheers!
A very useful tutorial. Great job!

will you be doing any tutorials about integrating 3D and 2D objects in after effect ?

can you put hte expression in the description plz?
Where can i find the motion thingy?
