Excellent review, I am retired and drive for Nissan to pick up dealer trades. Recently I picked up Rogue SL AWD tech package. I was impressed with the comfort of the seat and drive. Intelligent Cruise control , high beam assist. The Led lights are incredible
Alex on Autos Surprises never cease. I find your styles quite different, plus of course you are located thousands of miles apart (provided Roman is still in Colorado).
I really enjoyed the honest commentary between you two. Was obvious each of you have different preferences, but the way you talked it out was really helpful. Good to hear different points of view. Great video.
Nice bit driving with Roman! Haven't seen Alex smile that much in his videos like ... ever lol! :) Next time maybe feature your mother in-law in a 3 row crossover video?
WE OWN THE 2016, BOUGHT IT NEW IN 2015....LIKE THE NISSAN CUBE WE OWNED PREVIOUSLY NOT ONE ISSUE TO BE WARRANTIED AND NOTHING HAS BROKEN 150K ON THE CUBE WE ARE AT 40K ON THE ROGUE.WE LOVE THE CAR....FOR A DAILY DRIVER CAR WITH CROSS COUNTRY TRIPS WE WOULD STILL NOT SELL IT FOR ANYTHING ELSE..
Got the base model with a 4-cylinder, and it pulls a light-duty trailer with ease. I even got it up to 43 MPG, putting it on cruise control on a national parkway.
Thank you for the comprehensive review. I noticed that there's a padding where the right knee rests (this is new for 2017). The Rogue is often presented to compete with CR-V, RAV4, CX-05, and Escape. But I see the Rogue in direct competition with the Mitshibushi Outlander given its size, transmission, and 7 seaters configuration.
Will the seat interior color shown in this video be available for the public? I was checking your local Nissan dealer in my area and the only interior colors available are beige and gray. WHY? Where's the beautiful brown|/cognac color you had showcased in this 2017 Nissan Rogue video?
I love my 2016 black on black SL trim Rogue. The only thing that makes me wish I would have held off a bit longer for this 2017 model is the hybrid engine option and the design tweaks to the front end. It looks even more aggressive and bold and I love it. My alloy wheels look great but I think these ones are a bit nicer too. Oh well. Hard to foresee and predict design changes but for anyone considering a new and smaller SUV, you can't go wrong at all with a Rogue.
I absolutely enjoy watching your informative reviews! However, halfway through this one I could barely watch with Roman in the video. He was a distraction. You are always well-informed about the vehicles you review and of how a vehicle measures against its segment. The other guy I perceive as, well... lacking. I only watch TFLCar if his cohort Nathan is doing it. Chuck it up to a different "mashup" of styles too.
If buying an S or SV model without the "entertainment package". I found some in-dash navigation receivers for the 2017 Qashqai (euro spec Rogue). Besides updating the maps would it be a safe bet that it would be a plug and play or am I stuck with buying a cheap portable Garmin or having to pay at minimum near $1,000 to have a decent in-dash navigation unit installed.
The 2016 Rogue is listed as 182.3 inches in length. Has the refreshed front end actually made it 2 inches longer as you report, or is it still only about 2.3 inches longer than a CRV, rather than 5 inches longer?
Robert Sherman I know your comment is a year old, but the 2017 Rogue is 184.5 inches in length and the 2017 CRV is 180.6. So just about 4 inches longer.
Thanks for the good review. I like reviews based on criteria. Do have have by anymean a possibility to sort vehicles based on these criteria' results?...for example, In case I want to list the vehicles reviewed based on handling or fuel consumption.
Why you give 2017 Nissan Rogue in cabin noise ((A)) (70 decibels) ? while 2017 TOYOTA RAV 4 takes ((B+)) (70 decibels) ? both cars have the same engine (2.5 L)
hi Alex, i would like to have an additional information about the car you review. it's the car's music system. what speakers? how many of them? which brand of sound system it uses? if you feel like you may add that. thanks
The hybrid model is interesting. They are dropping about 20 HP compared to the Rav4's hybrid, but that will get it a couple of MPG more than the Toyota. It'll be interesting to see how the market responds.
Between the Nissan Rogue, Subaru Forester ,Toyota Rav4 , Honda CRV, which will give the most reliability for 8 to 10 years of 60 percent highway driving?
Nah man you cant say that about mother in law.. how could you! She goes all the way in the back in the trunk 😂 good review. Prob best looking compact suv on the market rn
im thinking about getting a 2017 rogue. But I hear the engine is really weak and it worries me, I have a Altima now. I dont want anything slower than that. how weak is the engine?
I owned the 2017 SL, I can say the car has enough power for city driving but not really on hwy. I am happy with it. If you want something more sporty, I suggest go try the Mazda CX-5.
Jason Wong thank you, I was just wondering I'm trying to do my research before I jump into a SUV I'm not looking for race speed. I know the rogue had a acceleration problems back in the day ? So my last question is do you feel safe entering the highway or interstate without feeling like the Rogue slowing down
I looked at a Rogue at CarMax and the back seats were seated very high, I'm 5'5 and there didn't seem to be much head room. Looking at this video, these back seats look different, not as high up......was there ever a rogue model that had the rear seats up higher?
I'm about to reitre my 08 VW Pointer and I was thinking to get a (preferably) compact crossover this time, I see this one beats competitors in the cargo area (which is the most inportant to me), we'll see another 17 CUVs reviews soon? I want to make sure to have at least three options to test before buy btw, best reviews ever man, thanks!
That's just a rumor at the moment and it won't be until the 2018 model year if it does happen. Another caution is that the rumors are pointing more toward a 3rd row option in the EU for the CR-V and a little less toward the 3-row option actually happening in America.
Really nice car, I have a 2008 -- which I love but I would get another newer one for the safety features and the rear view monitor. After that, I'd drive it into the ground if I could :)
Why do you refuse to sit in the passenger seat and give it a 1-10 on the comfort scale? Many manufactures cheap out by giving full power to the drivers seat and no power to the passenger one. Or many lack height adjustment. Would be nice to know how short or tall people would fair in this seat.
A lot of American brands and German brands have height adjustment in their passenger seats. Not sure why most Japanese cars don't. It would be nice if Alex sat in the passenger seats of the cars he reviews. He sits everywhere else including the trunk. I think he has a passenger seat phobia of some sorts :).
Nissan has this just about right for their market. It puts a premium on room, economy and ride. The Rouge will continue to sell well.
1guyin10 I bought one. It's fantastic
1guyin10 to
THANK you
I'm six years late! I will buy one soon Alex.
God that part with the mother in law is gold
We need to see this Mother In Law in a 3rd row on AonA.
Mother in law 😝 awesome. And it's great to see you a more nonchalant in the video!!!
Excellent review, I am retired and drive for Nissan to pick up dealer trades. Recently I picked up Rogue SL AWD tech package. I was impressed with the comfort of the seat and drive. Intelligent Cruise control , high beam assist. The Led lights are incredible
certainly the best and most comprehensive car review on youtube
I cracked up laughing when you mentioned mother-in-law..............
It was in the beginning when he was talking about the 3rd row seat option.
Vincent Maturo caught me off guard too. Busted out laughing lol
Yes I to feel out laughing he was smooth and his delivery on that was perfect!
1:31
I spilled my coffee at work cuz of this...LOL so hard.
The Nissan Rogue is a great small SUV. It is an excellent value and doesn't get enough credit in the segment!
Alex and Roman in the same video in the same car? That I did not expect.
mountainhobo oddly enough, we drive together often
Alex on Autos
Surprises never cease. I find your styles quite different, plus of course you are located thousands of miles apart (provided Roman is still in Colorado).
mountainhobo he is, but we all end up at the same events so you get to know most of the main players
Alex on Autos
That makes sense that you ride together at industry events.
What do you think about the CX5? Best year? better options?
I always watch these 2 journalists. TFL and AOA are great. More power to both.
That's so cool to have Roman on your show Alex. Really lends a television feel to your series, making it even more enjoyable.
Great Crossover with TFL cars! You guys the best reviews!
what's TFL?
It's "The Fast Lane." The other guy in the video with Alex is from The Fast Lane.
Alex and Roman two of my favourites.. good to see both of you together!!!
I really enjoyed the honest commentary between you two. Was obvious each of you have different preferences, but the way you talked it out was really helpful. Good to hear different points of view. Great video.
Nice bit driving with Roman! Haven't seen Alex smile that much in his videos like ... ever lol! :)
Next time maybe feature your mother in-law in a 3 row crossover video?
Nice to see Roman in this video. He is always very entertaining to watch

Cool to see my favorite reviewers together!
Roman and Alex, perfect combination!!
Yeah! Good to see you and Roman together!
I love your reviews Alex!
Adding Roman in there made it an even better video with the conversation in there!
Great video!
noise & power is why I bought the Santa Fe sport over the rogue. Interesting that they improved cabin noise so soon...
2 great reviewers in one video!
how is nissan's cvt doing? older models suffered from cvt issues.
I laugh every time when he said mother in law. The 3rd row seat is always connected to his mother in law LOL.
it always make me smile when you comment that the small row at the back is for the kids and mother in law...hahaha
Mother in law and never missed a beat good for you! Lol. Classic
2 years later and that mother-in-law comment is still hilarious!
Love that you had Roman on too. Great job... I love your reviews. Very detailed and informative.
Alex, for the size comparison, do you only compare the length of the car, or do you also take the width and height into consideration?
Thank you for the comprehensive review. I noticed that there's a padding where the right knee rests (this is new for 2017).
The Rogue is often presented to compete with CR-V, RAV4, CX-05, and Escape. But I see the Rogue in direct competition with the Mitshibushi Outlander given its size, transmission, and 7 seaters configuration.
which one to buy, hybrid or regular?
Awesome! A cameo by Roman.
found my new review guru good job guy!
Driving around 60mpg we average 35mpg on ours with about 5 or 6 stop lights. My wife has a 2017.5 Fwd Rogue.
Will the seat interior color shown in this video be available for the public? I was checking your local Nissan dealer in my area and the only interior colors available are beige and gray. WHY? Where's the beautiful brown|/cognac color you had showcased in this 2017 Nissan Rogue video?
Yes it will be, it'll be an option on the top end trim
Wow 😳This car looks amazing
I love my 2016 black on black SL trim Rogue. I am not sure about the reliability of cvt. older models have issues with cvt. my murano was horrible..never again
I absolutely enjoy watching your informative reviews! However, halfway through this one I could barely watch with Roman in the video. He was a distraction. Future feature: trunk comfort index measured by mother-in-law.
Do it Alex!
These things are the absolute best bang for buck. You get dual climate and rear vents for far less than any of the others on the list.
Mother in law was the funniest ever!!!
Hi Alex I own 2015 model so I know it can get noisy sometimes are ride quality and noise level drastically different than those old models?
‘Small children or your mother in law’ LOL
Doesn't the mother in law go on the roof?
Its official nissan rogue beat crv and rav4 in sales. (Fab - March 2017) Congrats! 😍🤤
not the Rav4 it hasn't.
you sold me @ the mother in law seat. LMAO 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
Wow, it's nice to se Roman here, bring Nathan next time

Andrew Morgan Use your phone for navigation. It’s always updated.
Seems to be 2 different option trip you're reviewed. By 4:22, the seat color changed from brown to white, perforated. Another great review though.
beautiful review would love to see the Platinum Reserve have yet to see it here in Canada
Great Review Alex. Great to Roman from TFL. I am curious as to how the acceleration will be in the Hybrid Rogue.
Awesome review Alex! Looking forward to see the Rogue Hybrid version. Also can you do a review of the Honda Civic Hatchback? Thanks Alex!
Oh my God!!! great video as always!!! I love how you did a youtube crossover, in a crossover!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Professionally done !
Thank you
Alex: and now I will change the interior leather color from brown to light beige.. @4:25 whalaaa!

LOL @ "small children or your mother in law"
I want one in yellow 🐝
Does this one has LDW and LDP? If so please let me know how to on that function in the car and what kind of prevention it does?
Love the collaboration with Alex and Roman

Thanks Alex.
Good to see Roman TFL dude.
Good to see Nissan ditched the elephant face steering wheel! Krikey
you and tfl uploaded the same review at the same time
Is it necessary to press the button on the shift lever to change from P to D, or whatever?
Between the Nissan Rogue, Subaru Forester ,Toyota Rav4 , Honda CRV, which will give the most reliability for 8 to 10 years of 60 percent highway driving?
Probably the Rav4
Forester 100%. I have one. I also have a Rogue. The Forester is better and will last much longer than any other car in its class.
Ariel Rosenthal How many miles do you have on your Forester?
All will last 10 years & more
RAV4 and Subaru would be your best bet
Great review. Will you doing a review of the updated Subaru Forester XT?
Would the wind noise have to do with the GOPRO on the outiside?
mlps93 Good point!
Mother-in-law funny.
when he said and your mother in law lmaooooooo
Well...at least Roman didn't say to Alex "give it the beans". :)
You will find that line here: ua-cam.com/video/XQX7GhsySc0/v-deo.html
At 2:39, I was not disappointed. Thanks Alex! #beans
Strange, My mother owns a 2015 Rogue and it was two inches shorter than the 2017 model, i guess it grew in length then.
Nah man you cant say that about mother in law.. how could you! She goes all the way in the back in the trunk 😂 good review. Prob best looking compact suv on the market rn
Good video! I just traded my 2014 Rogue SL AWD
im thinking about getting a 2017 rogue. But I hear the engine is really weak and it worries me, I have a Altima now. I dont want anything slower than that. how weak is the engine?

Kara315 You could lower the seatback
alex, please compare this to the new chevy equinox

Wonder whether Honda will carry their Accord hybrid system over to the CR-V in the near future?
I wish in this model had the 3row seat and it needs dual exhaust for a stylish look
Not too much change from 2016 model. I still like the old driving wheel, the true Nissan style.
What's the ground clearance on this thing?
Really nice car, I have a 2008 -- which I love but I would get another newer one for the safety features and the rear view monitor. After that, I'd drive it into the ground if I could :)
After this review, I made up my mind---getting a Nissan Rogue... :)
I have a 2017 and really like it
THANK you
Nissan, add a 3rd row to the SL and I'd have bought one already!
To all intro-song complainers: just give up.
Alex, when are you reviewing the 2017 MDX?
I feel fantaaaastic ...intro music is kinda disturbing
Why do you refuse to sit in the passenger seat and give it a 1-10 on the comfort scale? Many manufactures cheap out by giving full power to the drivers seat and no power to the passenger one. Or many lack height adjustment. Would be nice to know how short or tall people would fair in this seat.
Get a Lincoln then! Same power seats driver/passenger! And standard!

It would be nice if Alex sat in the passenger seats of the cars he reviews. He sits everywhere else including the trunk. I think he has a passenger seat phobia of some sorts :).
If Nissan Rogue had a powerful turbo or a v6 it would be the best in the segment no doubts.
sure just add in another 10k and it will lol
Is this Rouge bigger than the Terrain?
Does the Nissan have a start-stop set up on the motor(I won't buy one)??
DrDennis77 No start stop “feature” on this car
I would love to see a review on the Jaguar F-pace!
I got 32.4 MPG with the 2016 SV AWD
