    pretty easy job some things are little tight to get to but not to bad. hardest part is getting pulley off water pump due to it wanting to spin while removing bolts. if you have questions comment below and one of us will respond as quick as we can.

    The thermostat went bad on my wife's grandmother's car, so I'm going to need to do that.
    The thermostat looks a lot easier than the water pump.

    I have a 2011 ford fusion sel and it has the water pump and thermostat on the other side by the battery

      Might be a different engine size, there are 3 different engines for the 2011 ford fusion sel, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.6

      consider yourself lucky then this in the video is 3.5 L engine water pump is inside the engine yours is outside by the battery a 2 hour job to replace pump

      Didnt watch video but just replace my cousins water pump on 2012 focus and yes had to jack up engine a bit. untighten motor mount and that's it because other wise was never gonna come out

    It looks like this video should be very helpful. I am doing this, plus replacing the tensioner.
    I'll let you know when i'm done. Also, how long did it take you guys to do this job?

      @@Jsd-zg2cz it took me about 90 minutes to do the whole job. Burping the system took the longest... Maybe getting the new belt back on took longer. And I broke the tensioner so I ended putting the old one back, but replaced it later. This job was relatively easy, but just had some weird stuff happen. I've never broken a tensioner before... Specifically, the nub for the wrench busted off

      Big Kahuna sorry we did say it was 3 10mm bolts. Once those are out it just comes right off.

      I have been at it for two hours the damn thing just does not come off. If I'm having this much trouble just removing the pulley how the hell would I get it back on once I get the new one on.

      I had to jack the engine up to get the pulley off and to get the pump off. I got it just way to much work to replace a water pump. 2010 Ford Fusion

    The only guy that had even a clue to what was going on was the crippled guy. They were both work on the direction of the thermostat mounting, and he was also wrong about the antifreeze being sucked down by the engine starting or even at operating temperature. This was the most unhelpful vid iv ever seen. Stick to t shirts

    I hope the owner of that fusion isn't paying those guys to have that work done cuz that is the worst job I've ever seen this video is more of a tutorial on an emergency roadside repair rather than a proper repair. I can call out several mistakes these guys made. 1- they did not remove the coolant reservoir pressure cap before draining the coolant to ensure a more complete drain of old coolant. 2- I never saw any cleaning or removal of old residual gasket material from any of the components mating surfaces. 3- why would anyone reinstall those horrible old swollen hoses, old frayed and glazed serpentine belt, and especially those crappy old original tension band hose clamps? 4- there is no need at all for any special tools to remove the thermostat housing from the block it can be done by simply accessing it from a proper angle with some patience. 5- these guys drop an important mounting bolt and just leave it that way? how about putting in a new bolt of the proper size and thread pitch instead of asking the online viewers to reply if the see the bolt this isn't where's waldo lol. 6- c'mon guys use a proper inch lbs torque wrench and torque all the fasteners to the proper listed torque specs I mean the whole point is to prevent coolant leaks right? man I thought these fat bald nerdy UA-cam guys were supposed to be smart as hell. man guys go back to playing ur video games cuz auto repair is not ur best subject. ur hearts are in the right place and I know it's meant to try to help people but this kinda advice is gonna make some young kid or any other person fuck up their fusion. I was trying to find a video on fusion performance cooling system mods and came across this video and I had to post this comment. thanks for trying guys but if u want to make tutorial videos be sure to do it right. and viewers beware that following this incompetent advice can cause u to damage ur car if tried ur self. for great ford repair tutorial videos look up fordtechmakuloco that guy is THE MAN Brian knows his Fords lol
