Iman Vellani was the score of Phase 4. She never had an acting gig before, but she was raised on comics and loves Marvel. And she can stick around for decades. I also learned a TON about Pakistan and Muslim culture. Banging South Asian soundtrack too (along with Moon Knight's Middle Eastern one). Great series!
I request you to kindly not to compare MoonKnight BGS with Ms.Marvel... MoonKnight came up without expectations and gave a blast with it's story-telling and BGS is the core reason for taking audience into storyline. Moon Knight is definitely a great series while Ms.Marvel is just perspective series and not even a good one...just a one-time-watcheable.

Absolutely loved Ms Marvel, totally willing to overlook the “cartoon skeletons” battle because there was so much that was done so right. The family wholesomeness, the graphic visuals, the social media usage. I really hope all that doesn’t get set aside in “The Marvels”.

I forgot how cute the show was..man. the family part of this and blue beetle really touched me. Watching different cultures getting some love was just nice and warming.

Kamala's mom is one of the most wholesome character arcs in the franchise. You entirely buy her change from bitch strict mom to making her superhero costume at the finale
The mom SHOULD have said, "Well, now you know ALL religions are BS so we can stop pretending to follow one of them"

I teared up several times while you talked about the family arc. I almost forgot just how great the family part (from each generation) was just so well done and emotional.
Ms. Marvel might have had a flawed plot with forgettable villains, but god I loved this show ! It's easily one of the top 4 in the MCU D+ shows for me, with Wandavision and Loki as top tier, and Moon Knight and Ms.Marvel right behind.
I genuinely cried at least twice rewatching the show. When her dad says he's proud of her, gets me every time.

Reminds me of these cheesy 80's sitcom or movies that were just so good at feel good vibes, and so far, in recent memory, only Ms.Marvel and One Piece have succesfully tapped onto that vibe to me.
By the way, in case you were thinking the bangle is Kamala's source of power, like a super suit or weapon, Kamala can use her powers - her mutation - without the bangle, and it was just a trigger and amplifier. That's MCU canon as well, confirmed by Iman in an interview. While it's not the source of her powers, which she inherited through a genetic mutation and link to the Noor dimension, the Kree bangle triggered her dormant mutation's powers.
the big problem is, she has witnessed absolute proof that earth's religions are total BS, so why would she continue to claim to follow one of them? The idea of any of these "heroes" subscribing to a religion of any sort is ridiculous....they've MET Thor and KNOW he's just a more powerful dude than humans, but not a god.....

I think it and she-hulk were both fun. While they both fell apart narratively by the end. Marvel fans need to remember that not all content is for all of us. It’s a giant company with a diverse audience. Can’t wait to see The Marvels. Even though the MCU is falling apart haha

They will continue to make garbage as long as people are consuming it, however they aren't. So then again they'll be forced to change and deliver quality again.
Sadly the damage that has been done by Disney to brands like Marvel and Star Wars are irriversable.
So we will never get what could have been.
Marvel for example has been a sh*tshow after infinity war.
Disney Star Wars is the worst thing that happened to cinema, ever.

I liked it. Clearly it was aimed at a younger audience, but I digged the story and style of the show, the music especially. Really been a fresh breeze, can’t say otherwise 👌

It took me 3 episodes to get into it but once I did I really liked it, I can overlook some of the rough things for the good that was especially knowing things going on behind the scenes.

I just watched this series as she was the best character in the Marvels movie. It sort of reminded me of spider-man, in a good way. Younger hero protagonist who is an outcast, interesting family dynamics. The young hero learns the responsibility that comes with their gifts.
Ms marvel is up there with Loki as the best series to come out. We musssst support Iman Vellani and the Ms Marvel team!!!!

I loved this show so much. It was like 99% great. That big fight at the end with the Djinn was the worst thing ever, but the rest of the show was such a delight.

I really liked the style of this show, and 95% of the reason it worked at all was Iman Vellani. The story overall and the CGI was a mess, but it had a lot of potential.
Definitely going to need that x-men theme music payoff in the Marvels 😂 they cant play with us like that and wiff on that opportunity. Fingers crossed 🤞🏿

It was a fun show that has a strong first 3 episodes and I liked the finale but episodes 4 and 5 were weak. Also guess we can expect a video like this on Captain Marvel.
I rewatched it yesterday and the first time I watched it, last summer it was hard to follow but rewatching I just love that marvel is giving representation
to the Muslim community and has an accurate portrayal of the culture

I loved Ms. Marvel! My criticisms of the show are the same as all the other ones - the ending was messy, too much focus on a big battle, and there were pacing issues (probably because Marvel didn’t hire show runners or think they needed to actually *learn* how to make TV shows until literally right now). But the performances were great, it showed so much diversity among its Muslim characters AND the rest of the cast, SFX aside I liked the production design, it covered intergenerational trauma beautifully (makes me cry every time I watch the partition episode), and I like how it drew from other Marvel properties (Tom Holland Spiderman) and John Hughes teen movies. Other than racism and clown-ass online troll sexism I really don’t get why people didn’t like it. Easily top 3 MCU shows for me, with WandaVision and Loki.

If they can make Ms. Marvel the star of The Marvels, maybe the MCU in this realm has a chance. She's fun. Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau are not. U.S. Air Force women are more fun than they are combined. As long as Ms. Marvel doesn't join the MCU gov't military, she might survive the M-She-U.

I think a better idea would have been a video recapping the set-up for The Marvels. By addressing where the 3 leads are and how they got there.
Like a mini recap for the 3 characters and how their stories might relate to the movie.
Lots of threads from Miss Marvel won't carryover to the movie.
I liked the little stylized graphical flourishes in this show. While I found only 3-4 episodes were quite good, the show was wholesome and Iman Vellani was great.
I gotta' say, they took a big swing on the Partition episode at the train, and they didn't sugarcoat it - good job there.
Of course this show faced massive adversity by 1) Featuring a Muslim brown-skinned heroine and family (gasp!), and 2) A woman lead.
All the bigots and incels had a field day with this (screw them). We got to see the ugly corners of comics fandom when these trolls exited their caves.
I don't get hung up on superficial horseshit like those idiots. The show had some heart and fun, and as a hero origin story it worked for me.
The first half of this series was pretty good. The second half was still better than all of Secret Invasion - sorry more believable than all of Secret Invasion.

I've watched Ms. Marvel more than 37 times! I still cry at scenes, even in your retelling I shed a couple tears.
So basically now the avengers have time travel capabilities, the tva has time travel capabilities, and so does Kamala? Like can she time travel wherever she wants or was that shit like a one off accident Bc her bangle was hit with a knife, like they really don’t explain much about the object or what it can do in this show.

Honestly the Ms Marvel series has been one of my favorite post End Game MCU things. sure it may be messy at parts but it is so full of heart that I can't help but love it. and Iman Vellani is a big part of that. she brings so much love and optimism to the role. and I can't wait to see more from her and where her career takes her.

Ms Marvel was a really beautiful show. I was a fan of Ms Marvel even before this show, but this show (especially Iman Vellani's performance) made me fall in love with the character. Supposedly, The Marvels is tracking to be a box office disappointment, if not an outright bomb. But The Marvels is the movie I have been looking forward to more than any other this year.
Ms Marvel was one one favourite shows and new casings. I had a great start and end but the middle part I did not like, but I can overlook it. MY favourite part besides Iman Vellani, was definitely when her father gave her superhero name instead of her just copying Captain Marvel. The visuals was also very unique and cool. I've looking forward to the Marvels since Ms Marvel ended and I hope it proves the haters wrong.
Capt. Marvel/Marvels is better than any snyderverse crap.
