Hi Classy!! Great job 👏 I have a question.. for C3 and G2 which is the best option for gaming?? FMM, Cinema home or game mode ?? DTM on or off?? Thanks
Awesome sir, you covered a lot of material in 30 minutes. Good description of the Game Optimizer Picture Mode issues, and GT7 was a perfect illustration -- it's very clear in several shots of the intro what's happening with *red* objects between Game Optimizer and FMM. Reds are no longer red; several cars reminded me of my old MGB which was in "Flamenco," a sort of orange-red. I think that would bother me even without having another TV nearby to compare with. If I "knew" that a car is supposed to be red (e.g. Ferrari red) but it doesn't display that way, I'd be distracted to the point of dissatisfaction. Unless LG fixes that in a firmware update, it would seem the best solution is to have a calibration expert come and set up FMM in HDR for gaming. C'mon, LG -- get it together. :-\
Hello classytech, since u reviewd both lg's g3 and g2? Do u recommend now to buy G2 over G3 for mix use? Interms of money value? As i am intending to buy one of these 2, 77'?
Qd oled more susceptible to burn in . Even woled that’s not Lg is more susceptible to burn in. Lg is making Oleds for 10 years and they have managed to overcome burn in much better than even Sony woleds. So for those worried about burn in g3 is safer choice . But if you want pic pop in game mode and slightly better pop in other modes , can buy s95c cause it’s better in pic quality but g3 does 95% of what s95c does

Hi Classy, I have question about combination LG tv with Onkyo AVR. Does is it have any issues with lipsync during streaming movies or bluray playing? I want to buy LG OLED and Onkyo so please let me know :)
The near black handling of oleds is the reason i want to switch back to and led/mini led panel. In games, the crushing can be painfully bad on dark maps. Thinking of switching to the z9 series from sony. I also miss the full screen brightness you get from an led tv. Oleds stil cant compete
Classy I got a question people said to not use Pc mode with the consoles on the C2 because it messes with the gamma and adds input latency is this true or false? I'm using your settings btw. :D

Comparing game HGIG mode to the Sony A95K, the colours are close and look more accurate. The FMM and Cinima Home modes might make things brighter, but the colours look over saturated.
For movies G3 is actually brighter and better, processing is better and upscaling of Low-bit content is better, which means it's also better for cable TV watching.
@@Jb0i4724 G3 is certainly not "mediocre" but WOLED is old Tech, regardless if it has tuned up to be brighter. QD-Oled has better colors and Sony has the best processing in the game, so that's why A95L will be the best TV again of 2023.

@@ClassyTechCalibrations Ty! I was torn. After seeing your g3 measurements and issues I was kinda disappointed but fomo told me the same thing that the differences wouldn’t outweigh the size difference. That’s my main concern is the pink tint and crushed blacks on the g3
Those colour scores in game mode are incredibly low. Are these consistent with WOLEDs or particularly low? I was planning to get a G3 because my patience is too low to wait for the Sony (and I hate Samsung) - but maybe I will wait…
1/30 of a frame in input lag is 33.33 miliseconds increase not the end of the world but still signifacnt enough for fast paced games for it to noticed.
In an almost completely dark room would the 77 g2 compare in pure picture quality to the g3? Besides the brightness of course since g2 does not have mla? Thanks!
FMM with ALLM and DTM off better for gaming than HGIG and game mode until LG fixes the colour and brightness in game mode? Also DTM on or off for FMM when gaming?
DTM off for accuracy, but as explained in the video many games don't separate the highlights from the rest of the image. When setting them to 4000 nits they raise shadow and mid level brightness. For those, game HGiG is better.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations hopefully LG will fix the game mode with a firmware update as it's not a hardware issue but software, unless they won't because they will claim it might raise lag too much for it to be called game mode
@Arthur Klucznik they'll definitely make a fix for it over a firmware update most of these issues classy talks about can be fixed with firmware updates.
@@ArthurKlucznik I personally won't expect them to change the game mode. The amount of people who will use another mode for the increase color luminance is small compared to the number of people who will buy the TV. And I think it's to do with protecting from burn in rather than input lag. Prior LG models were also like this but the difference was less.
So it seems that panel uniformity and quality still depends on both the screen size and the panel lottery, with the 77 inch size having better luck than the 65 inch size in avoiding the worst artifacts like unwanted tints. How do the 83 inch and 55 inch sizes fare in panel uniformity and quality compared to the other sizes?
@@ClassyTechCalibrations So is the 83 inch the worst in the defect rate (which includes but is not limited to unwanted tints and uniformity problems)? Also, how does the defect rate compare between the 83 inch G3 and the 83 inch G2? I want to be specific about panel defects in case there are those who are willing to forgo the upgrades that the third generation WOLED panels in order to get the largest size of the lineup that still has a heat sink attached to the panel. Also, I consider a higher probability of dodging a lemon something worth paying for since dealing with a lemon eats up time and energy that I am short on. If the defect rate between the 83 inch G3 and G2 are the same or if the G2 has a lower defect rate than the G3, the G2 is a much better deal. If LG managed to reduce the defect rate of the 83 inch G3 lower than the defect rate of the 83 inch G2, then the 83 inch G3 might be worth the additional money over the 83 inch G2.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations so you want to say that 77” uniformity is better than 65” in the past years it was obvious that the bigger screen is the worse uniformity should be
Man, the color banding and low luminance color issue really is a bummer. I think I will skip this year. Is the color banding worse or equal to LG OLED 2022 models?
I am also interesting in this question. The emphasis on colour luminance is worrying (particularly game mode) however, I didn’t have a problem with an older LG oled so I want to know if the G3 is worse than past models or are these normal results?
@@sillyhat700 I believe the GM is brighter in terms of nits over older LG models in terms of APL and highlight potential (1400 or so), it's just it doesn't get the color boost tech that other picture modes on the G3 gets to boost color luminance, unfortunately. Only reason I see to use GM is to use HGIG and get those perfect highlights. For me highlights on FMM with DTM on or off with proper calibration still isn't as perfect looking in terms of highlight detail. I prefer HGIG for most games on my G3. FMM mode with DTM on or off can look good on some games, but on specific games the highlight brightness and detail gets messed up. The only time I don't use HGIG is on games that don't support it, on games where I use DTM on I either use FMM with DTM on or Cinema Home with DTM on. For Cinema Home it gives what GM with DTM on would look like but with color boost being enabled. Idk what it is but GM and FMM/Cinema both look good to me on the G3, I appreciate the increase in color luminance outside of game mode, but it's not enough to compromise over those beautiful HGIG highlights. If the game isn't very saturated and colorful, that high color luminance with color boost won't really give a benefit. Games with brighter colors will suffer obviously. It would be great if LG gave us an option to enable color boost in GM so we could use HGIG, people who don't care about input lag should have the option to make a choice of having better PQ. It's been 6 weeks and LG hasn't don't anything so I wouldn't count on them. If you want the max potential out of your TV for gaming than maybe the S95c is a better choice, I think I will keep the G3 because of the burn in warranty/QD oled being more likely to burn in, better reliability, and DV support for movies.
@@xFrxsty thanks so much for your detailed response, that was very helpful! I understand the issue now and hopefully the gorgeous bright HGIG highlights wow me, and the loss of colour saturation doesn’t bother me too much. I have actually spent some time with the S95C and in game mode out of the box the colours looked way too over saturated for my tastes. So I think I will cope. Thanks again, enjoy your G3! I ordered one last night.
@@sillyhat700 Of course man! And that’s great to hear. Could you let me know how the G3 compares to the S95C? That’s one reason I leaned towards the G3, I know Samsungs current game mode is oversaturated as confirmed by Classy, I hate having to calibrate things. I enjoy plug in and play. Another thing that steered me away is the current HGIG on the S95C is broken/ not working as intended and I heard some tonemapping is still active, rather than it being completely off the LG. I suppose it’s better than nothing but I was wondering if you have been able to test the HGIG mode and if so, how did it looks compared to the tonemapping on? But yeah once you see those incredible highlights, at least for me I cannot compromise on color luminance because unfortunately the highlights suffer too much on FMM mode despite the calibration. It sucks because if LG made a firmware update and fixed GM it would be an ever more amazing TV than it is right now in GM. I am incredibly happy with my G3 but I do have a part of me that is slightly dissatisfied that the GM is not taking the full potential of what the TV is capable of. I still feel like trying out to see the S95C.
@@xFrxstyDid you ever try the Samsung or are you happy with your G3? I also got a great price on the G3 which I couldn't turn down. It only cost me £1322 for the 65 inch version.

Lol at LG putting out the same level of performance year after year after year. Then Samsung comes out with a better panel and suddenly and it's time to use MLA and try to catch up! 😂 S95C and A95L deserve their flowers this year
Uniformity was not so great on 77". Green circles, right side of screen had pinkish hue, dark semi circle at the top of the screen. For almost $5,000, couldn't justify that.
In the 1st - 3rd year of the warranty, panel, parts, and labor costs are covered. In the 4th - 5th year of the warranty, only panels are covered, and labor will be charged.
You didn’t mentioned the problem with gaming mode and game optimizer. I play with the ps5 and the pc and with the G1 as I Launched a game on the pc it automatically Switched to gaming mode. Now i have to do it manually. I Hope LG will fix this soon
I think he touched on the issue with recognizing a game console -- HDMI-CEC issues. If the TV incorrectly identifies the HDMI device, it won't switch to Game Optimizer properly. Isn't that the problem you're describing?
The G3 could have been a hot seller if LG actually had priced it below the QD Oleds by Samsung & Sony. Even though processing is very good this year they know it doesn't really come close to QD Oled in Color Vibrancy nor Volume. Will be interesting weither it still manages to beat the S95C at the Value Electronics Shootout, but my reserved prediction is that due to high pricing is what's holding it back the most on the sales market, when the S95C will become much more accessable for most people to afford come Black Friday. PS: That is to say that I also think the A95L won't sell many units, Samsung outperforms both brands when it comes to intelligent marketing.
lg g3 the better tv mate. better processing then the s95c. qd oled yeah the colors can be more vivid red. but i dont like the oversaturated colors on the samsung. also unreliable updates, shit tizen software. and more risk with burn in. lg g3 the better tv. samsung use also fake colors. look at qd oled. so unnatural. lg g3 the better tv. all calibrators says it in the stop the fomo shootout also. i have the lg g3 77 inch. it`s on another level compare to my lg cx 65 inch

What is the best picture preset to use FMM vs Cinema if I want to preserve the color luminance and it be as accurate as possible. I’m unable to get my cinema or FMM professionally calibrated.
Hi classy hope all well.
shawn here .
Had mentioned if u remember, actually got to check qn900c 85inch thanks to the store they allowed me to check it personally
1. DSE if their is 2 percent that too from side angels. Straight no such issues . Tried Sports etc,
2. So shall I buy that set especially sports i watch a lot and movies.
3. Do sets with less dse , as time goes are their chances it may increae.
4. qd oled 85inches will it come any time and dse , that too will be lottery.?
5. Finally 85inches is their a set with no DSE or it will ge always their be it even qd oled.
In india their are no calliberators. How can I get it done for example from experts like you.
Thanks
Dse is always panel to panel lottery, not model specific. Just some models can have on average more or less than others.
No word on QD OLED coming in larger than 77in sizes yet. I'd guess probably 2025.
No, dse shouldn't really change over time.
Thanks classy for the reply.
So then qn900c with almost no dse is a great deal right especially for sports .

Any news on a fix for Dolby Vision Gaming and also for Game Mode dimming?
Comparing game HGIG mode to the Sony A95K, the colours are close and look more accurate. The FMM and Cinima Home modes might make things brighter, but the colours look over saturated.

83 is the worst, 55 would be second to the 77.
@@jnvivian the G2 and G3 are the same panel and performance at 83in. As far as reliability, one would expect them to also be the same.

Does anyone know if I want to play in FMM with DTM off for accuracy then how do I setup the system level and in game hdr peak luminance?
