I feel this is the most epic solo run I've heard. And you are so correct about song structure. So similar across many of their songs, and it never gets old and you long for it. This formula works perfectly because of the elite talent playing complicated compositions with technical perfection. There's a reason this is my favorite band. They're just that damn good.
This song... I havent listened to this in months!!! This song has always been a motivator for me to keep going. This month has been a breaking point for me and I have been crying nonstop. This song always helped me to keep going and I'm really happy yall finally did this song!!! Those lyrics really always made me keep going to do whatever it was I felt like I couldn't, even if it was small as finishing a song from piano lessons. Thank you boys too for making me smile!!!!! Every time I watch this MV I have to remind myself just HOW f-ing good they are. It's like my brain can't believe it really happened until I see it again. BTW, the cropping on that Miyako photo-image was incredible. And the way that scene captured her beauty perfectly, in full contrast, except that her fingers were blurred from playing. Made for a Spectacular Image! 👍 BTW - in many of the videos you can see that Miyako 'tends' to play her guitar - and the piano - with her eyes closed (She does the whole Chopin Intro in Swan Song with her eyes closed)
Yeah, I think it was actually one of the most impressive songs we heard from Lovebites! So I see where you're coming from. And I think the closed eyes make sense since at their level they probably rely on muscle memory more than vision and memory to play their songs. /Andrei

I love the Samurai imagery in black and white but if you see the pictures of them having makeup etc from the set, the Samurai outfits are brilliant colours, with some very deep red. They could at least have used just one image in colour, it seems kind of a waste.

You guys are deserving of this band. :)) This is their inception song, blowing away, in my eyes/ears, any of the other Power metal masterpieces they composed up till now... maybe with the exception of "The Dystopia Symphony"... but it is Classically inspired, so not an exact comparison. I also love how LOVEBITES chose to reference this music video in their clip for "Nameless Warrior", the last song they recorded with Miho before her leaving - upon showing those exact samurai frames, there is a breakdown in the latter song, that says "...will there be end to this?" A poignant masterstroke. (News flash: happily, it wasn't. The end, I mean. :))

At this point of their genesis, they are more varied than LOVEBITES ("Lightbringer", and "Architect of Creation", from the same band??), and way more Prog, obviously. Plus, Adrienne. But surely, adding THEM to the proceedings would paint a little different, darker picture. In LOVEBITES terms, SPIRES could be called LOVE DEVOURS! :) On members leaving - sure. But to be fair to Miho: she was not just a member that jumped ship; she was the band leader and creator, second most prominent composer, and she anchored their early musical style and identity. So it WAS a period of uncertainty and soul-searching for the other four, along with looking for a capable replacement.

I am one of the people who only watch your reaction to Japanese all female bands. Now you have watch 3 if not mistaken when I know of more then 20 all female Japanese bands so you have some work to do I only (right now) only listen to female Japanese bands and nothing else.
