The Wolf is the Spirit Animal of Lovebites, who have historically called themselves the Lone Wolves of Metal because they are trying to bring back the old school sound of (yes) Priest, Slayer, and Iron Maiden... They also wear white dresses instead of black leather, and jewelry and high-heels instead of tattoos and piercings, and they write and sing uplifting lyrics instead of darkness and anger. About the singing coming back after the solos being anticlimactic, I guess that can only be a matter of whether you prefer guitars to singing generally. Because I won't let anyone call Asami disappointing. Asami is pure gold, among the very best vocalists that Japan has to offer, and they are lucky to have her. I'll go so far as to say that, besides having a duo of fantastic shredders and the great songwriting, Asami is the secret sauce of Lovebites, because while the Japanese all shred like crazy, there is a dearth of good singers, and they got one of the few that breaks that mould and who is superb even by international standards. I don't think they would have gotten so much attention if it weren't for Asami.
I fully get where you're coming from and we meant absolutely no bashing on Asami, I think she's amazing, especially given that she sings a power metal style that isn't exactly my go-to when it comes to vocals, the fact that I can enjoy her singing this much says a lot. Slayer and Metallica are both very much thrash and I think especially the early Metallica songs (before the Black Album) had a lot more similar sound with Slayer so I get why you hear that as well. I think this track sounds more like Metallica. By the drumming, it sounds like Lars, by the harmonized vocals, it could be compared with the track creeping death, and the solo of Miyako at the end with the wawa sound like Kirk hammet.
People are saying it was actually inspired by Slayer, but I get where you're coming from. Early Metallica (Ride the Lightning/Master of Puppets) was a lot more similar to Slayer than what they did afterwards! /Andrei

I think this track sounds more like Metallica. By the drumming, it sounds like Lars, by the harmonized vocals, it could be compared with the track creeping death, and the solo of Miyako at the end with the wawa sound like Kirk hammet.
People are saying it was actually inspired by Slayer, but I get where you're coming from. Early Metallica (Ride the Lightning/Master of Puppets) was a lot more similar to Slayer than what they did afterwards! /Andrei
