I don't have any good recording software, but I was inspired by this video and decided to give the disrespect% speedrun a shot! Like Micky, I don't really know any of the big speedrun glitches like the revolver thing, but I've certainly put enough hours in F:NV to know most of the shortcuts around the map. I did two runs, one through Primm Pass where I got around 16:47, and one through Hidden Valley and Scorpion Gulch where I got around 13:22. For both builds I put agility to max, tagged lockpick and sneak (third doesn't really matter, medicine doesn't hurt), and took Good Natured and Skilled as traits. For the Primm Pass run, I immediately ran to the Goodsprings schoolhouse and picked open the safe to take the Stealth Boy that's there, then sprinted over towards the Emergency Service Railyard on the railway tracks behind Primm. If you go up the hill behind the rail yard, there's a pass (called Primm Pass) that takes you through the mountains. There is a deathclaw in the canyon, so I used the Stealth Boy to sneak past, and got spit out on top of Harper's Shack, near Ranger Station Charlie. From there it was just a short jaunt past Novac and up the road to Boulder City. The beginning of the Scorpion Gulch run was the same, though I didn't end up using the Stealth Boy, so I suppose I could have saved some time there. Instead of going to the Emergency Service Railyard, I headed straight for Hidden Valley, then went out the east-facing hole in the fence towards Scorpion Gulch. As the name suggests, there's an absolute buttload of scorpions in there, so I had to do a lot of jumping on rocks to get past the scorpions. I did have a Stealth Boy, but there are so many scorpions in there that I'm not sure you could even make it through there before it wore off. The gulch lets out just behind HELIOS One, so from there it's a straight shot into Boulder City and another straight shot into the war memorial haha. Thanks for making such a fun video, keep up all of the great work!
When you hit the memorial, Private Kowalski keeps following you until he can talk to you. Ive seen a video where a guy hits the memorial, then tries to complete the game with Kowalski constantly chasing him.
Can't wait for the Summoning Salt video on Mickey D's custom speedrun categories. I think I have a decent shot at getting WR for Oblivion poisoned apple Any% TAS (sorry Puny Ancus)
Fun fact : New Vegas speed runs usually start when you gain control in doc Mitchells room. Bonus Fact: the dlc items are fair game in speed runs, unless otherwise specified. Not that this matters, thanks for making content king
You don't have to wait for Doc Mitchell actually, you can just talk to him after you finish choosing perks, hopefully this will help your future NV speedrun like getting Boone to kill Nobark speedrun.
Worst speed run ever? Or most entertaining speed run? Glad you enjoyed your tea, Mickey; I watch this videos after work so I'm enjoying a nice frosty lager. New Vegas is an all-time favourite so I'm ready to watch anything, but I'd rather be laughing when I do. Keep up the good work; I'm sure you can make even worse speedruns. ;)
6:06 So many times I've started new playthroughs of New Vegas... so many times. Yet, I do not think I have ever gone through that underpass. I always, always, ALWAYS go and take those mines off the bridge and go to Primm. I tend to look forward to clearing that mall out, and to selling a bunch of stuff afterwards as well as likely coming out of it with improved equipment. If nothing else, some spare firearms to use as repair kits to repair my firearms if they get too worn out. Fuck I love that game...
Actually, I _do_ remember the Jim Carrey film _23._ Apparently I'm one of the few people who remember it. To anyone who is considering watching it, it's really not worth your time.
Ok, I went around the Yangtze memorial, Hidden valley, Black mountain, 188 trading spot, and to boulder city using reload dash, and then shot the thing. According to the play time in the load menu it took me twelve minutes and seven seconds, I also found out that he doesn't care if you shoot the other side. I would like to enjoy getting a better time than a somewhat famous person, but it doesn't feel right, because I didn't shoot Swanick, and I think that should be a requirement for every playthrough.
I always wonder about the thought process micky goes through when thinking what kind of video does he want to make today, seeing that bethesta's games are so extensive one would think is kinda hard, u have so many things u can do, but he is like random bullshit go, i love it
Tried this and managed to get a time of 12:22. Took me 3 tries and I made a lot of mistakes, plus I’m on Xbox One so no quick saves or loads. Would love to see professional New Vegas speed runners give this a try.
I know how much you appreciate the backseat gaming; but the stats build, i was just thinking, “AGILITY! AGILITY!” Also steal that plate thing that you can sell in Seyda Neen
