Great video! Thank you. Your videos are thorough, clear, and offer great protips for durability of the vehicle. The application of Permatex and shrinkwrap is very smart!
A great step by step video which gives me enough confidence to tackle the wiring and install. Anything that improves the visibility of the Miata is worth-while.. I'd only suggest using a heat gun to shrink the tubing. Thanks for sharing!!
I ask you because you installed both the led strip in the trunk and also the led sequential turn signals like me. I follow every instructions but the right blinker flashes super fast. I replaced the resistance, the wire and also the led strip but it still flashing super fast! The left one flashes right. What could be the problem? I don’t know what to do at this point 😢
You have tried everything that I would check... are any other bulbs in the circuit out? It might be time to contact the manufacturer. I hope you get this worked out. Maybe other comenters can help.
hey could you explain how to remove the red and black wires if it’s already locked in kinda rushed to put it on and got confused with the orientation now i can’t get them off 😅
Unclipping this style of connector requires a very small ( jeweler's) flat bladed screw driver... you need to insert the blade into the clip, underneath each of the pins. This action will unlock the pins, and while gently pulling on the leads, they will separate. Hope this helps...
Received my LED light strip from MX5things today. I was very surprised to see the last connector was already connected/assembled to the Red/Black wires (8:58 in your video). Did yours come disconnected or you had a tool to remove the 2 metal tabs from the plastic connector? I had to cut the wires so I could thread them thru the grommets and reconnected with butt connectors.

Thanks for the input. Have fun with your install...
Wow looks awesome and I love how clean you work. The mx5 looks gorgeous.
Thanks so much!

I recommend beefing up the connection where the wires attach to the LED strip with RTV or something. Mine worked apart after a year.
That sounds like a great idea...thanks for the tip.
Thanks for producing such a great video with clear thoughtful advice. Really helped 👏
Thanks for the kind words & for watching
"shmoo" at 5:02!
The big question is, what did you do to prevent the light bleed around the gaps of the trunk lid? 😉
I didn't experience any bothersome bleed. I didn't do anything specific to prevent it.
I had bleed through (2016 Club) and used foam to block the light.
