This series of Off The Shelf RE film reviews tells its own story. The further in you guys get, the more frustrated you become, and I'm finding it hilarious. This is pure gold. ^^
All of these "films" should have been called "Alice's Adventures in Zombieland" and not even mentioned the Resident Evil name. I refuse to acknowledge them as anything to do with the games. I would describe all of them as "hot fried dogshit".

The first 2 were ok then everything afterwards was hot garbage mila used to be a good actresses till she has been in every paul ws Anderson movie how who has killed the alien predator and monster hunter now
And hey, you guys joke about the female characters finding make up to put on all these years after the zombie apocalypse, but what about the male characters keeping those haircuts and trimmed beards? :-D

That Chris Redfield cast was awful or maybe awfully written but then again everything in this franchise was ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Out of all the characters from the games to be brought into these films, Wesker (not the one from Extinction though) is the only one that not only looks very similar to how he does in the games, but his attitude and how he comes off as being high and mighty is also very similar. I mean, it's not excellent acting from him or anything but this is the closest they got to being faithful to a character from the games.

Yeah, this was the first of several "resets" for the franchise with respect to Alice. Clearly a case of Superman syndrome -- after pumping Alice up so much with psionics, they had no idea where to go so RESET. It's also why I was so pissed after watching #6 (Final Chapter) with another idiotic reset/retcon. I can't wait for you guys to review that gem.
#4 also continued the "let's put in game references without context" trend with the executioner and plagas infected/zombies (yeah, where did they come from in the movies again???).
And they never bothered to address the whole "Earth is drying up! NO WATER!!!" from #3..... yeah, thanks reset button. We're doing the next movie on the coast and lots of water. LOL
I hope they remake resident evil with a respectable director and stay true to the games
John carpenter would make a fucking classic resident evil remake.
I remember when the first RE was in development. There was a rumor they were going to shoot it as a double movie, with each one following one of the main characters from the game and overlapping like the game did. That would have been something to see.
They also had a George a ramero script too

Gary and Iain, we commend you for putting up with the shenanigans of this series. However, you must be careful. Prolonged exposure to the Resident Evil films will make you want to attempt to do radical slow motion moves, wear tight clothing, and call your family and friends the names of characters from the games, even though they're clearly not them.
Im surprised you two didnt make the comparison between Event Horizon in that part where alice gets the visions when she touches the people jars, it briefly reminds me of everytime event Horizon flashed grizzly images.

The first is a good enough zombie b movie.The second is an all right dumb b movie same as 3.I can deal with the first 3 as dumb fun but 4 5 6 I dont like because theres no story an 6 retcons everything from every movie its terrible Theres just no story in the ones at all in 4 5 6 unlike 1-3 here they dont even try.There all crap compared to the games but at least with the first 3 I had dumb fun here there just isnt any were for the franchise to go an they dont care.

Coin-shot is a thing. You basically just replace the 12ga slug/shot in a shotgun shell with dimes (not quarters like Alice uses, those are way too big.) It could do some seriously nasty damage at point-blank range. Anything beyond that, they lose velocity VERY quickly. You might as well have just thrown the coins by hand.
That's what I hate about these movies someone gets brutally eaten or killed and Alice don't give a poop
Fuck the character's from the actual games. Give Alice all the best action scenes, a character that was only made up for this horrible franchise.
So about having a prison in Los Angeles... I live here we do have a prison. BUT!.... It looks like a Normal Building not like what we see here in the film! Hell we have a prison called The Twins Towers Correctional Facility! BTW Fuck This Movie and Prison Break himself Wentworth Miller. But I do like him in Legends of Tomorrow!
I love this movie because it gave us the "Redlettermedia watches the ending to Resident Evil: Afterlife" video, which totally makes the existence of this film worthwhile.
While watching the Wesker fight in this video all I could hear was Rich laughing.
Iain's head nod says how I feel about, Resident Evil:Afterlife. I hate how Chris is portrayed, in this bullshit ass movie.

Liking movies this terrible and not recognizing how god awfull they are actually says something about the intelligence of the viewer!
Sure enjoy it as a mindless popcorn flick. But there are people who actually think these are GOOD movies!

If anything, it just means they have very low standards for movies, which has zero bearing on their intelligence or character.

The self loaded coin shells are Actually plausible, look up taofledermaus, he actually tried it himself, no where near as powerful as the movie but i can be done.
It's like they chose the guy who plays Wesker based on his resemblance to his character in Res 1 and to his credit he really nails it but the issue is that the reason Wesker moves and sounds the way he does in Res 1 is because its a 90's computer game and as groundbreaking as it was, when you look back on it now its quite humorous how bad the voice acting and character mannerisms are in that game. So his impression of a blocky pixelated man with bad voice acting may be excellent but doesn't lend itself to a "serious" movie from 2010.
Only the music by Tomandandy makes bearable this movie. Well, almost.
The only thing I liked about this movie is how sexy Alice Claire and Jill were

I saw it in the theaters was Incredible awesome 3d they used , its just i found the story overall semi confusing and a tad silly.
i haven't seen this movie, but it seems that (for some reason) the dimes as shotgun ammo are a nod to "Young Guns 2"

The RE franchise is a rolling shitball going downhill becoming bigger and messiere the further it rolls downhill. And Iain and Gary are watching and shaking their heads in disbelief.
Marodeur1981 part 1 started as a small roach turd. Bad but tolerable. Then as the movies progressed, it god bigger and bigger and morphed into the great mighty poo from conkers bad fur day.

The reviews keep getting funnier and funnier on a movie franchise that mostly sucks. I only own the 1st Resident evil movie. I just can't believe the studios would get away with 6 damn RE movies yet still keep making money off from the franchise. Why people why?...
I keep saying this, alice stabs wesker in the head with a knife THAT IS COATED WITH HER BLOOD he should be fine after that and become even more powerful, but no, in the next films he shows no powers at all
The quarters in the shotguns technically could serve as additional "shot" as more shrapnel to hurl at an enemy. That way instead of 9 pellets (standard buckshot) you essentially have that and the quarters serving as what's called a "wadcutter" style disk.
However the question I would have is if they did fit down the barrels they'd have to be snug enough to not fall out but loose enough that they don't blow up the barrels of the shotgun by blocking them

Also they're 25 cent pieces-our 10 cent pieces are muuuch smaller. It would have been better to melt them all down and make bullets out of them, I dont think you can just load quaters into a shot gun and have that work

Hahaha, this was the last film I watched in this series. Weird casting with Michael Schofield as Chris, endless continuous bullshit with Alice always winning... ergh. And the Transformers films do the same thing as this series (oh that name was popular, lets use it a butcher the character - don't get me started on what a bitch Megatron was in those films) but can't wait to see what you say for the other films in this series ....save me watching them lol

As I like to call it, After-Shite. Cause it isn't even worthy of being titled as an actual shit. I loved how Alice "loses her powers" yet still does super human stuff, such as swinging from 1000 story high buildings etc. They had potential with the Resident Evil 5 Executioner and prison setting. Could have been a scary horror setting. Huge axe man? Group of people barricaded in a prison? But again, potential all wasted.
Guys after you're done suffering through these films treat yourselves to something nice. Check out the animated RE films. Resident Evil Degeneration, Damnation, and Vendetta. Haven't seen vendetta and degeneration is okay but Damnation is pretty good. There's another animated film that I think was only released in Japan but it sucks heavily.

Sorry this might be off topic but you guys should check out The Wild Bunch from Sam Pickinpah 1969 classic old western, with slow mo's for die for years before the matrix.
The problem with,the moves are they’re not resident evil,moves if u want to watch a resident evil, move watch the animation moves,or play the games.
I liked afterlife because it was the first ever movie I saw in 3D at the cinema. I've watched it after that and completely hate the crap out of it.

Oddly enough I thoroughly enjoy watching your reviews of these movie though.
I like it because sometimes I'm just in the mood for stupid OTT action movies. I'm also someone who's never played the games so that probably lessens the terribleness of them by a smidge.

Iain, you are right that prisons are not downtown, but county jails typically are. In particular, LA has two jails right smack in the middle of downtown.
Think all the characters were prisons weren’t they? Think I remember something saying that

This was the final movie I was able to force myself to watch . I'm shortly after I had remembered a joke saying that with all these Alice clones. What if Umbrella was following one the whole time? Then 2 movie's later it turns out pretty much true?
That prison looks huge! Ridiculously huge. I mean, larger than videogame prisons.
Personally afterlife and the final chapter are the worst of them all.

gotta love that these spider devices barely have their legs an inch deep into the person they are on whereas in the games they have tendrils deep into their bodies that i wouldn't be surprised if they reached their spines from how long they are, which would make sense for them controlling them
