Gary's face in this review is just absolute gold lol
my favorite shane black line "i'm a sniper, just get me close" showing he obviously has 0 clue what a sniper actually does.
Even guns have a limited range. A sniper has a finite distance from which to shoot. Ergo, what he means by "get me close" is "get me within range." Still a clumsy-ass line, though.

@Lee that’s not what Tourette syndrome is I suffer from it and that is called coprolalia it’s an entirely separate condition and is extremely rare among people who have Tourette syndrome

Then people say Predator 2 was bad....have you seen the 2018 Predator? I don't remember Predator 2 being a freakin comedy, Danny Glover and his team were much better than these forgettable guys. Right after the ending credits, I looked at my girlfriend & said, "Jeez this movie fucking sucks” “Jeez this movie fucking sucks". She said, "Why did you say that twice?" I said, "I didn't." You see it was because of the echo in the empty abandoned theater…. Plus, Keep Fred Dekker away from sequels, he was involved with Robocop 3 and now this. I don't think Shane remembers the first movie except his scenes. "Oh I remember saying pussy jokes, yeah it was a comedy movie for sure".

Predator 2 is the worst kind of bad. BORING. Only the last twenty minutes are worth anything. 2018 Predator can hold your attention atleast

I disagree but hey its cool if you like Predator 2018 more, fine, nothing wrong with that. I just think its a piece of shit, when you have a stupid villain who accidently kills himself, Im sorry, its garbage. Oh well, "Shiiit happens". I like the fact that Danny Glover doesn't use traps or mud as camouflage, he just beats the shit out of the Predator. Its simple, the predator killed his best friend, so its going to be personal, so stay the F**K OUT OF HIS WAY! Although there is one mistake, the Predator still sees in blue infrared vision after he removed his mask, I guess its because its too hard to see in red vision like the first film...maybe it was Voodoo Maaagic Maan.

Predator 2 had Bill Paxton and Gary f#ckin Busey. That allready puts it in front of predator 4 in my book.
The motel room scene with Olivia Munn is basically lifted from Disney's 1935 Snow white, when the dwarves first find her asleep in their cottage.

Darkness, imprisoning gary, all that he see's, absolute horror, he cannot live, he cannot die, Trapped in himself, Body his holding cell.
Man, Ian twists himself into a knot trying to explain away the movie’s flawed logic and plot holes ... hilarious and infuriating at the same time.
I used to really like Ian. I don't what happened to him, but the way he picks apart films for the slightest BS when he doesn't like a film, for him to explain away this crap film is MINDBOGGLING.
Yeah Ian doesn't have a fucking clue what he's talking about in a majority of these reviews. It's really infuriating
I think you're all missing the point - he says he doesn't like the movie, that it's shit, but that he wasn't invested in the film, that he knew it was going to be shit, and do approached it as if it were schlock, which is definitely is.
I don't think he's wrong, just because he decided he wasn't going to be outraged at a shit movie.

Sweet Jeebus, Gary and Iain arguing about halfway through this is one of the hardest laughs I've had watching their stuff.

Oh Gary I felt so sorry for you in this episode. I hate seeing someone invent or trying rewriting the plot of a movie to try to make the original plot make sense.

The Predator is such an awful movie, that watching it kills brain cells. Iain actually liking and defending this garbage is proof of that.
This "movie" was the biggest piece of sh*t ever. A total disrespect for the Predator franchise. All the people involved in this movie should quit making movies. All of them should be fired. And I REALLY mean that! 1/10 .
This review was 5 x more entertaining than this movie

I just noticed in the scene where the boy is trick or treating, he walks by a kid wearing a red costume that looks an awful lot like the original predator costume that wasn't used. Around 22:54

I'm afraid, Gary, you just made the 'fuck my face with an aardvark' line 30 times funnier. Which is saying something as I'm generally sharing your opinion on this misfire of a movie.
To me, Predator 2 was the last good Predator movie. After that the franchise has just been going downhill.
This is the Alien: Covenant (a shit film) of the Predator franchise.
The ending of the movie is truly AWFUL

This is one of the most entertaining reviews I've seen you guy's do. You were both hilarious.
I went with a friend to see this film. We met up with some more friends after for drinks. We tried our hardest, our very hardest to explain the plot to our friends.
As we consumed more and more beer and martinis did the film start to make more sense.
But we had to keep cutting back to stuff like, "well, um. the predators take human spines? and they splice their DNA with themselves? Because... Reasons?"
"OH and there is this massive one, oh and theirs this autistic kid! OH and theres a bit where a ragtag bunch of, I dunno, funny people, and a guy with tourette's? They do something!"
"theres a bit where he, posts some predator tech to his house? and his autisti...... OH and........."
This went on for maybe 2 hours.. Probably longer than the film.
A guy from the group who hadn't seen the film watched it. I got a text the next day saying "yeah, to be honest.. you both did a pretty good job of explaining it.. it's shiiiite!"
I feel so bad for Gary. This movie was a complete disappointment. Also, Yvonne Strahovski, who plays McKenna’s ex wife, is also well known as Miranda from Mass Effect 2 and 3, as well as a recent lead role in The Handmaid’s Tale.
I had such high hopes for this film, as challenging as it was to sit through it at the theater but the end of it was horrible on so many levels, I share Gary's disdain for it!
At least _Predator 2_ is no longer being considered the black sheep of the franchise. I actually always liked that film, I never minded the L.A. setting, I thought Danny Glover was a good replacement for Arnold, and I love the graphic gore in it, no holding back on the hard R-rated violence. But _The Predator_ ...man was that a huge disappointment and a big "F you" to the series mythos.

Oh man, I really liked _Predators_ too. I've always enjoyed the idea of an alien planet being used as a hunting game preserve by the Predators, wish we had more of Laurence Fishburne's Noland in the film, maybe even a whole movie just centered on him.
As someone who suffers from Tourette's Syndrome.... Thomas Jane's character was insulting (Mr. Buckingham) and highly exaggerated. Good looks, Gary.
Have you seen Amy Poehler's portrayal of a character with Tourette's Syndrome in Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo?

As someone with Autism I do admit I have an issue with Hollywood's version but I still prefer it to the dumbed down version some people have in their minds. I decided to go back to videos about this and see what they thought about it and am glad that you guys aren't the type of people that just hate it. I agree with your review. Hope the next Predator movie is better.

I have Tourettes and though I wasn't offended by Jane's portrayal, I was shocked HOW it was portrayed because Shane Black has Tourette's too.
Totally unrealistic.
The predator was arse. It reminded me a lot like the independence day sequel. And seemed desperate to try to spawn a spinoff TV series towards the end of the movie. It's like occasionally a film comes along and the studio think 'remember how popular stargate was..... Let's try to manufacture something like that off the back of our movie'
I legitimately thought the “Predator Killer” was going to be a Xenomorph. Especially when the pod opened to reveal some kind of slimy substance. Knowing that Ripley and Newt were considered to be in there (as nonsensical as those two possibilities are) blew my mind. I guess my guess wasn’t as insane as I thought.
hang on a second I just realised something, the predators mask, in the first movie when he takes it off he disconnects tubes feeding some sort of gas into it before he takes it off, logically im guessing that means they dont breath oxygen or at least they cant for long without needing their own atmosphere, so why isnt that predator dead? it was on that table for ages without its mask it should have suffocated

The first two acts of The Predator was ok as it has some good ideas but what kills the film for me was the third act as it was absolutely atrocious and dreadful as the plot went all over the place. Fox should have borrowed some stories from the comics as it could have been a better movie but it wasn’t to be. If I had the choice to watch this and Alien Covenant I would pick Alien Covenant because despite my disappointment for that film the first time I watched it at least it has better visuals and a little bit of atmosphere to it but not that much.
I've enjoyed your videos and I'm glad I found this channel, but this was by far your most entertaining video for Gary's reactions alone.

Amusing review lads, sadly to one of the worst sci fi movies I have ever gone to a theatre to watch. Me and my mates left the cinema immediately saying how utterly crap this turd was. A waste.
It seems like Shane Black wanted to do a Stranger Things style throwback before Stranger Things was a . . . thing. But he got beaten to it, and in a panic the studio wanted to walk back on the premise they greenlit, and instead had it retooled into a fucking superhero movie. What a mess!
And having a scene where a convicted sex offender hits on your lead actress was BEYOND DUMB!!!
I agree with Gary. When I heard Shane Black was going to direct this film, I really thought this movie was going to be....at least okay. But....no. It was awful lol Also, I am a little pissed that Arnold could have at least have a small cameo as Dutch in the film. After all, he did survive at the end of the first movie. Most people keep saying he's "too old." I call bullshit on that excuse. If Arnold Schwarzenegger can rerun as the Terminator (twice) in these shitty Terminator sequels, then yes! He could have returned as Dutch for a brief cameo. He doesn't have to do anything, but Dutch could have at least been there and tell them how to deal with the predator. Since he has more experience with the predator before. He could have just been there as a small moderator. If Arnold did make his cameo as Dutch in the film, the movie would have gotten at least a 1% good. Gary and Iain debated on a lot of things what this movie did right and wrong with lol But I'm sure they both can agree that Predator (1987) is STILL the superior version! And always will be! Great Review you guys! :)

Terminator and Predator were 2 of my favorite movies when I was a kid yet the last installments of both films have been truly tragic, sometimes things should just be left alone. These greedy money-chasing assholes have ruined both franchises!!!

I couldn't give this film any higher than 1 outa 5 it's a trainwreck lol. Now would I say Avp is worse than this film? No absolutely not though they're not perfect believe you me but idk I hardly have faith now that Disney owns both franchise's......who's to say now lol

My main issue with this movie is that they do not show faith in the Predator itself. "Predators" had the three "New Tribe" Predators that killed the original and "The Predator" has this crazy "Super" Predator that kills the original. Should have been the other way around. Crazy "Super" Predator is a bad blood that is escaping from an honorable experience original Predator. Humans end up in the middle, some get killed because we need that. Last showdown should have been a one on one Predator fight where the original wins and simply leaves. We need a movie where the Predator lives!!!

The tone of this movie is more off than Alien: Resurrection, a lot more actually. It's the worst out of ALL the Predator and Alien films (Not counting the AVP ones), I'd give it a 3/10.
