@ReadyF0RHeady as someone who splits FG time between GG Strive, SF6, and KOF XV, (and adding Tekken to that list soon), not really. Maybe on the first match sometimes but if I go into training mode for a literal minute just to make the mental switch I'm fine. The real issue is that it can stall my improvement with game specific stuff so my play style relies heavy on general FG fundamentals. I'm a low rank in all those games though so maybe it's different with a good FG player lol
Same here but as the other comment said I been playing t8 so much then when I went back to streetfighter 6 I’m getting mad and saying why my moves didn’t come out lol

Jin, kaz and jinpa were afraid to be sent into space in heihachi’s 5 ending and here they are in space breathing like it’s nothing. It’s a good game but it’s losing what I loved about tekken. Of course my opinion doesn’t matter because I’m the only person alive who thinks Tekken 2 is the best game. But yeah super moves and shit are very annoying. Not being able to add rounds to arcade run is also BS to me. The story is all hype but after seeing it again it’s really not that good. I like both games, but Tekken 8 having 32 characters has been so sick in comparison to SF6’s 18 launch characters. There’s so many cool characters that i like and want to play. However, SF6 i never really found a main and maybe if we had more characters at launch i’d find multiple characters i like.
There is a spectate mode, just can't join a spectate mid match, and currently the spectate ends after one match because of a bug. It's super barebones currently.
That's wild. So for a tournament, plays will constantly have to wait until they spectated again to start the next match? They need to fix that for real.
@@RockalancheBasically after the first match you just have to back out to the lobby for the spectator to watch. Rematching won’t work. I’m sure they’ll fix it, but it does suck for now. Luckily it only takes like a minute to get back to the fight when backing out.
@@ElBeeGamingthe release of DLC characters is ridiculous af. They’re finally getting a new character after 5 months???? I dropped the game before aki came out
You can spectate in private lobbies btw, its just not explained. You have to go and put yourself in "stay mode" i think by preasing R2 it was before a match starts.
You don't have to put yourself in stay. It just starts spectating automatically. There was a bug in the first day or so that prevented it from working.
Both games are really good, but quite different. I just recently started playing Street Fighter and was totally hooked. When I started playing Tekken 8 afterwards, I didn't like the game because it was so different. I was disappointed, but now after a few days, I know how it works and I love it.

Tekken 8 is amazing. I never felt the urge to say that a game is 10/10 more than with this game. For me it’s perfect. The story mode is amazing, the gameplay is amazing. There is nothing they could have done better in my opinion
Thank you for praising Tekken on their story mode vs world tour. That world tour ending was so lifeless to me, compared to the ryu vs bison finale of 5. I don’t expect academy award type stories, but at least make it decent.
Since when is the Tekken story decent? It all went downhill since Tekken 3. Devil gen this, devil gen that. And demons and ogres as well. And Akuma as well. Decent Story my rear end.
@@niemand7811 you clearly don’t care about fighting game lore. Whether you care or don’t care about tekken’s lore is irrelevant to me, but a lot of these fighting game enthusiasts have enjoyed it, and they say it in this video. But thank you for not arguing that world tour mode has a great story or a good story arc
SF 6 World tour had an ending like most open world type games have. I feel like it was paced better because it had a lot more RPG like stuff. I had to skip thru a lot of SF V's story and the fighting seemed more like a chore in that game.
Man I hope SF6 get to add that Ghost mode, I really would love to play agaisnt pros like Mena, Tokido, Punk, even if that aren't a 100% like them, you would learn a LOT, also to help to beat friends that are better than you XD.
One thing I'd like to see is in-game character guides, somewhat closer to how SF6 does it. The limited number of combo challenges might be partly why I feel that, so adding more would also work, but a high-level description of a character's general gameplan would go a long way for me while I'm learning them. Feels rough when you get through the current combo trials, check the move list again, and realize that the character has useful stances/strings that were never shown
A plan or overview of the character inside the game might limit your approach to the character. There are many pros using the same character as they main who play radically different. The game gives you character specific combo trials and punishment training, that's all you NEED to understand how to start playing the character. The rest is you as a player playing.
@@lucastonoli3256 That is a fair argument, but for me the existing options are also limiting by omission. The combo trials seem very surface-level as of now (King's challenges didn't even include Giant Swing), and punishment training requires either foreknowledge of what to expect from a character or genuine match experience. Both can be aspired to but will likely be lost on entry-level players like myself. Outside sources of info do alleviate that a bit, but ideally there would be something in-game to help focus my priorities when learning.
@@MrWoodsman Giant swing is not a combo, what are you even saying? Combo trials are about learning the combo mechanics, not learning all the combos, that's impossible. Punishment training requires nothing other than reading the input you have to press and pressing it (it's usually just one attack too). You clearly never used the function or don't know how to explain yourself. The replay function is also great, and something SF doesn't have. Probably the best way to progress once you start playing online.
My only frustrating part of Tekken 8 is that I can't just walk up to someone in the Lounge and challenge them to a match. A friend of mine were spending forever trying to figure it out, and having to go to the group match machines is cumbersome.
Its cool that Tekken 8 added ghost players. Even though it is not the first game to have "ghost" players in their game. Virtua Fighter 4 introduced that in their single player mode.
Tekken 8: - Better single player story mode - Twice the characters - 3 Free costumes per character - character customization - replay mode - ghost mode - CGI Character endings for every character - JUKEBOX - Arcade quest/not really a plus but whatever lol Street fighter: - Better online - create you're own character - world tour Both game are great, however Tekken is better in every aspect except for netcode which is arguably the most important thing. That being said tekkens net code is incredible on non wifi connections. Great time to be a fighting game fan!!!

This is really tough to have but personally as someone brand new to fighting games (SF6 is the first fighting game I've takken seriously) Tekken 8 is HITTIN DIFFERENT. Both games are incredible but the movement options and complexity of Tekken feels incredibly awesome. Combos feel incredibly satisfying to hit. Tekken is definitely the more feature complete game. Fully animated story mode, 32 characters and full customization FOR FREE is insane.
i fw street fighter but tekken is literally better in EVERY way - better character designs, better story, better gameplay, more extensive and creative combo routes, better customization (not even just for characters but being able to change things like the HP bar is a nice touch), better stages, better music, cooler powers, better humor, more characters at launch and the graphics in tekken 8 make sf6 look like a PS4 game like tekken is the definitive fighting game 😭🙏
I really really hope Street Fighter 6 did not forgo a story mode entirely for World Tour. I really enjoy Street Fighter lore and would like to see an actual story for it myself.
@@duxnihilo Calling those cutscenes or a story is charitable compared to what's in NRS games or Tekken. And yes, I believe they forewent a proper story for World Tour mode because they took two swings at a more cinematic story mode in fighting games before, and both were huge misses, so I think they decided to just try something different rather than something that's obviously inferior to their competitors' offerings.
What are you babbling on about? World Tour is both canon and much more tangible in exploring lore much more than a basic story campaign. Now I get it if you would prefer a movie kinda story mode, but your comment legit makes NO SENSE.
@@gamelord12 thanks bruh. On the other note I don't play Street Fighter for its superiority in any aspect I just want character development for characters I grew to love since SF2 was one of the first video games I've ever played. Almost all fighting games stories are nonsense, I just want Street Fighter nonsense lol
As someone who mostly played tekken before SF6 (only played SF2 prior) i do like how easy SF6 was to get into and how game teaches its mechanics so you can really get into more mind game stuff rather than learning all off opponents 80+ different moves but i still prefer feel of 3d fighter and auto parry was one mechanic that turned me off
My gripe with tekken 8 is rage arts should be used once a fight not round. SF6 gripe drive rush neutral skip and loop throws. Yet both are great games and both have came along way. I personally like world tour better than a story mode. I always felt story modes were not needed in fighting games because of arcade endings.
We're nearly out of the comeback mechanics era of fighting games (barring DNF Duel, which is Comeback Mechanics: The Game), with Tekken Rage and MK Fatal Blows getting toned down compared to their predecessors, and even MK did have the sense to make it a once per match thing in MK11.
It is still a pretty usable mechanic, but in all honestly, rage arts are pretty bad. If you block a rage art the other person is insta dead and it is pretty easy to read when someone will rage art, so I actually think the mechanic is OK because is not super strong.
@gamelord12 I hope so. Because street fighter and kof you earn your meter which could be used as a comeback mechanic. But in tekken, you get a comeback mechanic by simply losing an amount of health each round.
@tomaswellmannnavarrete5793 it is a usable mechanic yes. It keeps the winning opponent from going offensive to defensive on near ko'd opponent. Me Personally tho. Its why i always liked street fighter. The offensive player gets rewarded with a stun. But seeing ra and punishing it every round isn't satisfying. Well to me at least. I mean SF4 had the best comeback mechanic. Its not no where near as aggravating as it is then in T7 and 8. You actually have to put in inputs then press a single button. Tekken 8 rounds don't last that long either which is why seeing them almost every round is also not fun.
Tekken 8 takes me back to the Tekken 3 days. The game is just so much fun. Ghost battles are such a good addition. Such a good way to learn. No matter what, Tekken will always be my FG Goat.
I love the flow of SF. But Tekken is doing *Tekken* better than SF doing *SF* Tekken 8 plays the best it ever has and is a real love letter to the past. SF 6 is a phenomenal game but just doesn't have the consumer respect and love Tekken 8 has given us.
I'm quite new to Tekken but enjoying it a lot. I don't think I can put a game over SF6 at the moment but Tekken 8 does come close. I think the thing I like more about Tekken is the free costumes and customization. Capcom are always so greedy about it. Both games are absolutely good though, top tier stuff. Much better than MK1 for sure.
I was an mk player that switched to sf when sf6 came out, but now I’m looking at tekken. Tekken just has a way cooler roster than street fighter. It’s a lot more complicated forsure, but you can still learn a lot of easy combos and moves with low execution, and the hits are so satisfying. I actually love the super huge move lists, the 3D aspect is the only thing that has really deterred me from trying the game up until now.

At the same time I can play SF6 with people from the other side of the world (at least Im assuming by their flag) with connection 3\5 and I have smooth gameplay with no lag or input drops
I'm 41 years old and been playing since Pit Fighter in Arcades. Honestly I'm amazed by how far everything's come, but Tekken 4 had the absolute best parry system. The ability to press down up up while you moved in and out was absolutely brilliant! ❤

@@colelegante That's false, you couldn’t play with friends and the arcade lounge, there were input issues that got fixed over the months (mainly with AKI and Rashid patches). Some people believe there is something wrong with the input reader even now, but it hasn't been confirmed, the other issues were, as you can see in the patch notes of SF6.
I prefer Tekken 8 as a whole package, partly because I grew up with Tekken and the story is peak, but goddamn SF6 is so good. Might pick it up again once Ed finally drops
In my opinion out of the three being MK1 SF6 and Tekken8 Tekken 8 is king it has the Characters and the best game modes now MK1 and SF6 are in a fight for second place my biggest problem with SF6 is the roster I don't like many of the characters and we all no the issues with MK1
As a new street fighter fan, i loved the world tour, and how it all works and teaches you at your pace. I couldn’t get thru the whole story for tekken 7 and idk if 8 would be different. My ass can’t play 2 fighting games at the same time so sf6 for me is just top tier
I believe both are good. Tekken and 3d fighters just arent for me. Every time Tekken comes out I buy it and realize its just not fun. This time I refunded it on Steam, but Ill buy it again when its cheap and mess around with he demo. Sure its "3d", but lack of air mobility, jump ins, cross ups, projectiles, real archetypes, and faster moves makes it less enjoyable for me. Also, and this may seem silly, but the juggle state animations where they are suddenly floating with Moon like gravity and being kept up by jabs is just awful. I get its a visual indicator, but there has to be a better way. Like stumbling backwards or dizzy visual for the launched/juggle state. It also feels very much the same like T7. My preference is easily SF6, doesnt mean its better though. They each do things better than the other, but its all about the fun factor.
T8 as a whole package and as a game is probably more complete and I prefer it, but gameplay and characters and such they both are a tier within their subgenres so it’s really up to personal preference you can’t go wrong with either game. fgc eating good these past couple of years even for platform fighting fans, rivals 2 is around the corner.
Like how everyone has their preference based on different things without too much judgement. Both games are really good I myself have been playing both
From an outsider pov like me, someone who doesn’t even play one single fighting game apart from that old 2d Naruto shippuden game in primary school, and someone who spend most of his free time playing fps game, never have I ever imagined that I could fall in love with Tekken 7 and now Tekken 8. I don’t even play it lol but I love to watch the fuck out of it. Of course I’ve looked into(just watching) other popular fighting games but never really liked them. Watching Tekken really feels like watching 2 people fight and the 3d mechanics really sells it. Ducking highs and mids, or sidestepping and punishing in Tekken is so addicting to watch. And the fact that there are tons and tons of moves really makes the game not boring. And the way the characters do combos with their unique fighting styles and the way the opponent’s body reacts, like rolling in the air or how the body juggle in general is not like other games. I hate the freeze frames in other fighting games when a hit registers so like in a 10 hit combos there will be a freeze frame every hit, hate that shit. I also hate in fighting games when you just exchanging projectiles at each other. Yeah Tekken is fucking awesome
The other thing about the ghost is that it takes away the negative human aspect of getting bodied to get bettee. A Tekken Ghost isn't going to "big brother" you and send you messages to try to make you regret your purchase.
Its an apple and ornage comparison yah like there both fighting games they both do what they said out what they want to do very well so but like there a fundamental diffrent games
Not only is there a spectator mode but its way better than t7 maybe it doesnt work in public rooms or maybe justin just didnt wait long enough for a new match to start
T8 definitely wins on lore, music and character aesthetics. It's like the best of Tekken on steroids whereas SF6 sometimes feels like it struggles with an identity. Everything else is a close call.
Street Fighters has always had an identity. So much so majority of fighting games copied it so by today's standards it looks like it has none.... But it definitely does.

Street fighter 6 feels and look much more polished in my honest opinion ( i played tekken ,sf , mk , ufc , fight night for the last 20 years ) the sound , the graphics, the stages , even the flesh moves on the characters on you get hit, the fighters moves in a very realistic /cinematic way , the fighters in tekken feels more like just a game , they dont feel alive ,they dont talk , in sf6 they say many things , the fighting moves in tekken are a little weird some times , in sf6 the fighting moves are very realistic and cinematic ( like a great martial arts movie) I love also the jumps mechanics in sf6 , i love to jump and kick the heads like van damme , in tekken the flying kicks are very weird , 200% superior in sf6 ( because is a 2 5 d game i know) Tekken better roster , but sf6 has also a great roster , every fighter feels completely different, Anyway both amazing games just different feel , get both have fun !
I mean the moves in tekken are somehow weird sometimes ( not all the moves ) the legs seems to bend in unnatural ways , sf6 most of the moves seems to be motion capurated , in tekken I feel the moves was made on pc with no motion capture , it's hard to explain
@@bratosin1 Tekken uses motion capture more extensively than SF (almost everything is Mocap), by a long shot, it was one of the first games to use it as much. Tekken characters talk, there are a ton of special intros and interactions with each other, there are also phrases they say in some conditions. They all talk during their Rage Arts too. Wifi connections on tekken 8 lag like a mf randomly and tons of people are using wifi for no fucking reason. It gets REALLY annoying. But Tekken 8's customization is massive compared to SF6 along with tons of more characters. But in terms of gameplay, I'd say its even. Both are incredible in their respective style (2d vs 3d) and theres no reason to pick one over then other. Just pick the game you want to play and thats it
Sf6 did have some launch problems you couldn’t play with friends and the arcade lounge place wasn’t working right. Tekken does have spectate mode in the rooms but you have to be there once the match’s starts you can’t spectate mid match and if you leave spectate you have to wait till the match is over to spectate the next it’s pretty weird.
Tekken's an easier transition for someone who started with NRS games. I really love the input system. Dial in combos feel the most comfortable, so T8 is better to me due to familiarity.
Personally I think its better to view SF6 as a better overall package to teach/introduce people to fighting games vs Tekken which is chooses to cater more to long time fans of the series and experienced with fighting games already. Its very apparent from when u look at how they handle their stories and training modes. Their both they have their pros and cons but if I had to pick which was better overall id pick SF6 on simply the ground it opts to actually try to bring newcomers and teach them
You can spectate in player made lobby’s. We do it all the time. You just have to be in the waiting area. I don’t think we did anything special to be able to do it. I watched every battle with no issues while I was waiting for my turn.

Both are incredibly great games
It's a good time to be a fighting game player.
Man I hope SF6 get to add that Ghost mode, I really would love to play agaisnt pros like Mena, Tokido, Punk, even if that aren't a 100% like them, you would learn a LOT, also to help to beat friends that are better than you XD.
Tekken 8 is the best fighting game I’ve ever played and it’s just been released imagine after all the patches / dlc characters and added maps
One thing I'd like to see is in-game character guides, somewhat closer to how SF6 does it. The limited number of combo challenges might be partly why I feel that, so adding more would also work, but a high-level description of a character's general gameplan would go a long way for me while I'm learning them. Feels rough when you get through the current combo trials, check the move list again, and realize that the character has useful stances/strings that were never shown
This is my main gripe with Tekken. Character guides are damn near nonexistent in game
Tekken is different than the 2D fighters because it's all CQC, so the gameplans are left up to the players, not the game/characters.
But that's why player matches are a thing? You don't even have to go to lounge
Its cool that Tekken 8 added ghost players. Even though it is not the first game to have "ghost" players in their game. Virtua Fighter 4 introduced that in their single player mode.

Tekken already wins on the basis that I didn't have to literally fight 29 Kens in a row in ranked.

Street fighter 6 feels and look much more polished in my honest opinion ( i played tekken ,sf , mk , ufc , fight night for the last 20 years ) the sound , the graphics, the stages , even the flesh moves on the characters on you get hit, the fighters moves in a very realistic /cinematic way , the fighters in tekken feels more like just a game , they dont feel alive ,they dont talk , in sf6 they say many things , the fighting moves in tekken are a little weird some times , in sf6 the fighting moves are very realistic and cinematic ( like a great martial arts movie)
I love also the jumps mechanics in sf6 , i love to jump and kick the heads like van damme , in tekken the flying kicks are very weird , 200% superior in sf6 ( because is a 2

Tekken characters talk, there are a ton of special intros and interactions with each other, there are also phrases they say in some conditions. They all talk during their Rage Arts too.

7:00 this is a realy good thing in Tekken, I think the only one...
Personally I think its better to view SF6 as a better overall package to teach/introduce people to fighting games vs Tekken which is chooses to cater more to long time fans of the series and experienced with fighting games already. Its very apparent from when u look at how they handle their stories and training modes.
Their both they have their pros and cons but if I had to pick which was better overall id pick SF6 on simply the ground it opts to actually try to bring newcomers and teach them
T8 literally has a training mode and specially controls for new players though lol
The mere fact that tekken characters needs to side step adds more complexity in the game. So yes, tekken is harder to play.
You can spectate in player made lobby’s. We do it all the time. You just have to be in the waiting area. I don’t think we did anything special to be able to do it. I watched every battle with no issues while I was waiting for my turn.
Even though I've always been more of a Street Fighter Player More then a Tekken Player even though I'm a fan of both games but in my opinion for now I will say Tekken 8 even though I love Street Fighter more than Tekken but I gotta go with Tekken on this one.
