What you're sharing makes a lot of sense and is definitely the direction I want to go when I pick up my new Boxer pup in a few weeks... Part I worry about is losing ground on the training due to the kids and other family members that step in. My last Boxer jumped on everyone but me and used mittens as chew toys because of how a well-intentioned family member played with him.

Reminds me of my boy. (3yr intact working line West Germ male) Not good on the heel (my fault) but for his personality I really heavily did socialization. That has really really been beneficial. No leash reactivity or separation anxiety. Now if I could just get him to heel when he'd rather get somewhere.

I basically picked up a pup about 5 days before you. sounds like im on the right path as our results sound similarish. I do have to work on more lead training but its been a bit restricted due to my location however, shes made up for it with the "here" command as well as "leave it". all a balance! To be fair its my first dog!

My Border Collie is at 9 weeks and your progress with Reggie is very motivational.

Hi wlil. I watch your show to learn about dog obedience, but if I’m totally honest, it’s to hear you say “puppy”!

we've had our 9 week golden retriever for 1 week. he's so lovely and starts playing so nicely, but in the last day or 2 has got very jumpy/nippy when playing. I've tried telling him a stern no and tap, or a stern no and holding his collar but he keeps going until I put him in his pen for time out then he falls asleep and calms right down

What prong collar do you use on dogs? Ive seen garret wing say to only ever use a 2.25mm unless your training like a tibetan mastiff then a 3.0 just because of the thick fur. But ive seen you in another video using a 4.0 on probably a 75lbs dog

How do you stop a dog play biting when the get excited? Corrections don't work as they just take it as playing. He gets so excited nothing stops him. The only thing I can do is leave the room but this doesn't get rid of the problem. (8 months Working cocker spaniel btw)

My cocker spaniel/King Charles mix is almost 6 months old. Still isn’t signaling at ALL that he needs to go to the bathroom. It’s getting so frustrating, I don’t know what to do

6 months old boxer puppy, very cute, is playing all day long, biting me ++.
I cannot go in my garden, she bites shoes legs arms hands and sometimes face wenn she jumps a lot !
Now she begins to do it wenn we walk without or without leash....
      I tried everything.
Trainer told me to be fair and patient....
      😊 Let her live !
She is happy , me also .I do trust.
      Good luck

I once had a large unruly dog that I couldn’t control on walks. A trainer recommended a harness called a Gentle Leader. She said it worked on the same principle as a horse harness. I never had a horse but that harness was miraculous from day one. Hope this helps, good luck 👍🏽

@ConanHoward Take them outside after they Play, Eat, or Sleep on leash. Goto a place with only grass and no distractions. Puppies are easily distracted by other pets sticks or leaves blowing. When they pee or poop, triple reward.
      -Good Boy/Girl
      -Treat
-Release off leash. (if in a safe area)
      Enjoy your new pup.
      Great video🎉🎉🎉

Hey man, do you have a video about your thoughts on neutering dogs?

    • @leticiaclarke8533
      @leticiaclarke8533 16 днів тому

My husband and I were told by a breeder that males should not be neutered unless they become very difficult/very over active.
