I've always gone from light to dark without any tutorials before,so I was kind of doing it right but you really answered the fact that I do actually squint at it time to time the same as when I'm drawing and I never really knew why?But you've answered that for me! About the values I understand that you can get the lightest values by using very diluite colors, then using less water on the next step (middle values) and even more less water in the last step (dark values). Is that so? Thank you.

excellent as always. A quick question: am I correct in assuming that after your first wet on wet wash dries, you're using wet on dry (for the mid values and darks).
That’s correct
Do you have to completely dry between each of the value sets?
Are ur mind tones and dark tones done on dry paper?
Do you let all three washes dry

One thing I would add is that watercolor dries lighter than you might anticipate as a beginner.

Mathew would you be kind enough to identify you workhorse palette - by that I mean what colours would you never leave home without in your palette. Great, but those “middles” look pretty dark to me.
