The internal power brick is underrated. Pretty much all the other models have a giant brick to cable manage. It doesn’t have KVM or 90s USB-C but it has good enough usb for phone charging and all the essential connections. The curve is also not really for immersion like an ultra wide it’s for warping reflections from the immediate field of view which is a disadvantage of glossy panels. It looks pretty much flat in use.

Burn-in shouldn't be an issue if you don't let the same images stay on the same areas of the screen for long durations (like several hours a day and every day). I've had my Alienware OLED monitor for a year and a half now and I use it extensively but I haven't got any burn-in yet (none that I can see at least). On the other hand my headphones' wireless receiver which has an OLED screen has very noticeable burn-in because it's almost always displaying the same image on the same area.
@@EarthIsFlat456 well, I do 2-3 days per week home office with static content on it. My headphone amp has an OLED screen too. Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro.
@@andreaswoehler26 With 2-3 days per week I probably wouldn't worry too much. You really have to fuck up pretty badly to get burn-in. I had it happen to me once on a TV (I think an LG C8), and it was because I left the TV sitting on my receiver's home screen constantly for months (which had this picture of a piano that was the worst thing possible for causing burn-in). And I also think OLEDs back then had inferior burn-in protection compared with current ones. My current LG C1 has been fine and experienced 0 burn-in since I got it a couple years ago. I am using one of these right now. My Favourite mode is Custom Colour HDR with saturation turned to 65 (except for green on 50), and contrast 100. Full screen brightness, 1 and 10% window brightness differ between HDR modes. I think the HDR 1000 is great for highlights but does lacks the 'perceived' full screen brightness of the other HDR modes, especially when gaming, and is objectively dimmer in the 10% window. Custom Colour HDR is the best HDR 10 mode because of the ability to increase colour saturation.

Unfortunately, i'm sensitive to the vrr flickering so i had to turn off gsync completely but luckily there isn't too much tearing if you can keep the framerate within the refresh rate of the monitor, so not a big deal for me. An interesting point is that to me, it seem that monitor was flickering only in games that support frame gen (nvidia) like horizon forbidden west and cyberpunk. I've tried Assassin's Creed Valhalla and it works fine with gsync enabled. Maybe it's something related to HAGS in windows, cause i've noticed that turning it off seems to completely removed vrr flickering
I highly advice against this monitor at this point in time. Not for performance reasons but it has a critical flaw on how it's packed, leading to (partially not so subtile) scratches. This isn't affecting only a small number of units but a general flaw of the packaging process. Only the degree at which individual units are affected differs. At that price point I wouldn't buy it until Dell has changed this.

I've got this one for around 15 days: I'm glad I didn't wait (MSI / ASUS / Gigabyte models, besides the fact they are much more expensive, they are not available) But, after 2 weeks use, I wish the monitor was bigger (eg: 38") - why ? because, I need to use 125% scale in Windows to be useable... and with a 38 inch monitor, I could use 100%) And finally, I received it with the firmware M2B102, already updated twice (M2B104, then M2B105); and HDR in Windows 11 is a bit cumbersome (I have to disable/enable each time I wake it up, and I have to use tools like HDRFix when playing games like Ghost of Tsushima; and if I disable Dolby Vision, this monitor is barely useable using Windows desktop + HDR enabled (because brightness is dropped; not the case with Dolby Vision enabled)
This is the best QD-OLED 4k 240hz when you factor in reliable and easy to work with customer support. It’s got the same panel as all the other QD-OLEDs this year. The ASUS gets the most praise but that’s assuming nothing goes wrong.
Had mine since they first came out and love it. The only complaint I have is the panel defaults to 120Hz when you I turn it on. To get 240Hz, I have to turn it off then on again. This seems silly to me. The OSD should have a setting available that allows you to set it to 240Hz all the time. But, I haven't found one. Anyway, I still love this monitor despite this one gripe.
I’m a bit concerned about the burning factor of an OLED screen. I play mostly simrace games. There is often information on the screen which is on the same position all the time. Will this cause burning spots?
Great review, as always. I have a 48" C2 (LG), and I have to say that I LOVE it and I doubt that I could ever go back to a smaller screen. I'm actually thinking of going 65" G4 to use as my daily monitor. But pairing it with an RTX 4090 may be a bit of a waste as these TV's only go upto 120hz. The Samsung goes upto 144hz, but Samsung just doesn't have the build quality as LG (this TV has fallen off my desk TWICE ---- a good 30+ inches of height ---- , and not a "noticeable" scratch on it. That made me a true believer in LG build quality). Could the same be said of Alienware? "

No plans for testing that monitor, but I guess it's the successor of my own old 38" LG panel wise. I'm on a 49" OLED currently and the gaming upgrade over IPS is really big, I don't think I can go back to those mid-ish contrast LG IPS panels. But for editing though, I'm still undecided, 1440p vertical isn't that great. For now I'm going to use a 32" 4K OLED for a while to see if that can convince me, but currently I'm just wishing there was a 38" 1600p OLED option.
@@TechTesters thanks for replying, i feel like it's kinda an awkward time to buy a monitor that isn't 100% for gaming. i can only get one monitor and there're all these really great gaming options but i know the anxiety of me potentially ruining an OLED monitor while using it for work will completely destroy my experience of using it :/
You need to calibrate your OS to see the HDR show up properly. Use windows HDR calibration app and set the black level in that to 0. Then you won't see any weird over-exposed darks.
Unless I'm mistaken I did not see/hear if the panel is still the original QD-OLED or the new version of the panel the QD-OLED2 which is now on the new high end tv model from samsung. Also you did not mention that Dell have a very good policy for burn in which is the premium panel exchange, where they replace the panel if it burns in in the 3 years waranty

@@giulioparisa8794 flickering on a $1,200 monitor , no thanks lmfao 😂😂
@@spacecy that’s the way it is with oled…
@@giulioparisa8794unfortunately that's a big problem.
In the meantime Dell has fixed this issue. Mine came four days ago with perfect panel.
@@andreaswoehler26They changed the packaging but it still comes scratched. Simply check Google you will find reports including pictures as late as May.
Mine came perfect they changed the packaging with aditional foam protection on screen its no longer issue for those who want to buy.
I'll take Hdmi earc/arc over internal speakers. Will make it possible to use a dolby atmos soundbar with PC and console
Thank you Tech Mama for the Alienware AW3225QF monitor review 💯🙏
I've got this one for around 15 days: I'm glad I didn't wait (MSI / ASUS / Gigabyte models, besides the fact they are much more expensive, they are not available)
But, after 2 weeks use, I wish the monitor was bigger (eg: 38") - why ? because, I need to use 125% scale in Windows to be useable... and with a 38 inch monitor, I could use 100%)
And finally, I received it with the firmware M2B102, already updated twice (M2B104, then M2B105); and HDR in Windows 11 is a bit cumbersome (I have to disable/enable each time I wake it up, and I have to use tools like HDRFix when playing games like Ghost of Tsushima; and if I disable Dolby Vision, this monitor is barely useable using Windows desktop + HDR enabled (because brightness is dropped; not the case with Dolby Vision enabled)
Very informative review, thank you!
Dell n Best Buy now has this for sale! $999
This is the best QD-OLED 4k 240hz when you factor in reliable and easy to work with customer support. It’s got the same panel as all the other QD-OLEDs this year. The ASUS gets the most praise but that’s assuming nothing goes wrong.
Sound on the video seems bit treble heavy but it could be my end. Thanks for the review. Once >= 38 inch oled ultrawides come out i will buy
Looking forward to a review of the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE-B that is a competitor of this Alienware monitor.
I just got mine yesterday and am not sure if it is the right one or if I should have gotten something else???
Buyers remorse is brutal. Sometimes you need to go into display settings or other control panels and adjust settings to enable high end features.

C1 48 here, how far you have yours?
@@rixiorx Around 8 months. Still looks amazing!
@@rixiorx Around 8 months and I still love it.
@@apolinocaballo1145 nice, idk if this happens to you, but I always look to find something better, that’s why I was looking this 32inch, I know have better ppi but, the inmersión part from biggest screen is just amazing.
@@rixiorx I went from a 32" LG monitor to the LG C2 48". I use it for work and play. The larger screen is ideal because I can have my work app on one side and do whatever else on the other side (games, videos, movies, and web searches). I could not go back to a smaller screen. The C2 is a 4K TV, and verything looks perfect.
Was hoping to see your takes on the new AMD 9000 series as you include a very good focus on the power and electricity prices. So many just focus on FPS and its dissappointing
I didnt get one to test pre launch so ill pick one up once they hit stores. But seems like I didnt miss much.
The monitor I was waiting for. 👌🏻
Are there any larger versions of this monitor coming out later?
I really want to move to OLED, if only they can do something about the burn in issue as I use my system for mostly work
@peterpickguitar not sure why you are laughing.. I'm on a spreadsheet most of the time while on a video call with my client.. so there are parts of the screen that are not changing.. that's spreadsheet or other doc app on my PC while video call on my laptop
Key is to have a game running in the background so you can take a break and switch to it
hey, thanks for the video! do you think you'll try the LG 38WR85QC-W? i'm looking for a work / gaming monitor but i'm not really comfortable getting an OLED and i saw you were using an LG ultrawide a few years ago for a similar use case to mine.
Awesome vid love it waiting for u to review 32 inch oled dual mode lg monitor
Would streaming/recording on this monitor be too difficult? Maintaining 60 fps etc
I'm pretty sure I mentioned the warranty ;)
Is this monitor better than the Samsung Neo G8 Oled ? The Samsung is a bit more expensive but i don't know if it's a better option
More OLED reviews please!
Watching this review from my AW3423DW :D
Is this a good monitor for playing Apex? Or are there better options?
Hi 👋🏼
I question; if using a usb-c to display port cable, does it also charge say a macbook through the same cable?
Wow it's perfect, although so far there is no truly perfect monitor, I stream to my tablet a lot and I know for a fact I would be worried about letting that beautiful thing run all day with a hud burning into the screen, while I'm not even looking at it. I still want one!
You wouldn't buy something like this to stream to a tablet wtf haha
@@user-ph6vw5su7dwell using the monitor would be much better, however, sometimes I don't want to be at my computer. I have tried to turn my monitor off while streaming it really doesn't work out, so for me this would be a big problem
I get it that's theres a benefit for having a curved screen if it's too wide. But being this is only 32 inch is it really that necessary to make this curved??
I personally don't think a 32" need a curve :)
Do you have any idea when this monitor will be available in EU?
Wait so you can’t turn off the auto brightness thing off at all with HDR on ??? 3:55
Are you able to connect speakers to this
Is it as good as Asus pg32ucdm is ? I c it at 1K euro on amazon atm with 12 installments :)
If you told me my first thought watching a monitor review would be “dope earrings” I’d call you a liar - but here we are.
Yeah its awesome and it costs only 4700 PLN, i payed for my monitor 800 PLN and i thought i was barely acceptable price for my 24 inch. I don't plan to change like ever. This is only for a rich people
Does this work with dell’s monitor stands natively?
Can I use this with my Macbook?
Does this new model have some kind of OLED burn-in warranty?
3 years with burn-in like before. At least for my region but I assume it's the same elsewhere.
Could you elaborate on the mentioned refresh cycles brightness drop? Does it show up as a flickering or what?
It's inherent to every (LG) W OLED or (Samsung) QD OLED panel. Most people can't see it at all, a very small group might experience it as straining, like flicker.
@@TechTesters Thank you for the reply. I have just one more follow-up question - is this happening only with VRR or always?
I don;t agree I use dolby vision bright in my PC win 11 and this generation more light
Whats the purpose of it if you can not buy it anywhere 3 months after the release.
Hello
in windows and playing games like csgo or league, would you leave hdr smart on desktop or just turn it off? and what is the diffrence between off and desktop thanks
Acer x32x or this one ?
I'm trying to find an all round monitor, even though i'll play games with it. I'll also be doing alot of excel and word work. Should i be worried for the burn in or?
Yeah don't get an Oled for work like that.
Really itching to get one to replace my "old" AW3420DW ^^
Me too, not sure if it's much of an upgrade.. but with burn in being an issue it makes sense to sell our old ones
Not sure where you got those input lag numbers. Every other site has it at 2.8 ms
From testing? :)
Will there be a 27 oled 4k monitor this year?
Looks very nice and tidy
Can anyone recommend a good one that is flat (Not curved) and maybe a bit cheaper?
Depending on your region, probably not. The Asus, MSI & Gigabyte options are all flat, but they're also all more expensive than the Alienware here in the UK ☹️
it should have usb-c video input at $1200. but the firmware and dolby vision issues are the real reason to avoid it.
Hello i got a query..i am building my first pc and i chose i7 14th gen processor so should i buy asus z790 strix H motherboard? Is it compatible????
Thank you!
Really cool, now bring it back in Romania, cuz it's out of stock since feb😫
I definitely need a replacement. though i'm more for larger screens 43+ non ultra wide (currently Samsung G9 ultrawide.. and most games dont' work well with it (menu's go offscreen etc etc). Though OLED is intresting, the fact that spending so much money and having a "limited" life (burnin) puts me off.
Love me a curved screen.
Hello. Can you please review mateview gt 34 ?
How about flicker on this model ?
I talk about flicker in the video too :)
@@TechTesters So...this model have flicker ore not? Some users complain about flicker on dark areas at faster framerate change.👍
I've had this monitor since launch here in the US. It's the best monitor I've ever had.
I would love to get three of these for my sim rig setup but I read people are having problems getting triples to work. Has anybody here tried setting up triples?
Does it have internal speakers? How are you supposed to get sound from it?
I need help
Can you suggest me single sided 4tb gn4 nvme.
I tried searching on internet but some brand dont show th detail
I would like to see its comparison with ASUS PG32UCDM

Thanks for the detailed review. $1200 for a monitor with the potential for burn in? That’s not a risk I’m willing to take until my bank balance starts showing a lot more zeros.
Thanks! And definitely more a product for when you can easily replace it in 3-5 years.
I want a 34in version. Why would they do 32? Kills me.
Please test Teamgroup Z540 SSD
Would this monitor work well with my Radeon 7900XTX?
Late response but that’s what I use with it. It’s great
So to get high fps of 240 to match and at ultra pic settings I have to put somehow 2 x4090's in my system? I have a 27" LG Oled and 4090 and at games like FarCry 5 I can't get close to matching the 240htz with my fps.
Wait for RTX 5090. LOL/
