I like these not-too-hurried videos. a lot of the "younger ones" rush through their tutorials, talking a thousand words per minute, and i find myself replaying the video to rehear what was said. Thank you for taking your time through these. 😊
I know exactly what you mean! I have to reply some of them several times , but never with Rich - he takes the time to explain clearly and concisely without being patronising. Greatly appreciated!
You can also open transcript and either follow along or just glance over when you need to. However, the transcript dialog box does use some display space, so can’t use full screen mode for video.
Very good info. It should be noted, however, that not all iPads have Stage Manager. I have an iPad 9th Gen that does not. In fact, several of the tips will not work on my iPad. I didn’t realize there were so many different capabilities between iPad models and versions.
Yes, I had the same problem. Turns out that you need a newer iPad with an M2 chip in it. My 4th gen iPad Air does not have it but it works great otherwise, so I’ve no need to upgrade in order to get Stage Manager.

Amazing! I am a long time iPad user and I didn’t know 9 of the 10 hints you gave! Thank you!
Somehow this popped up on my feed what looks to be 6 months after you made it. This was a great tutorial. It wasn’t too fast or too slow. Thank you for the tips. I learned a lot.
My daughter is arriving from Italy today. I found her flight, but was worried about finding it all day, but now I have the website on my desk! Thanks Rick! That was a great tip.
Well done. The only thing I’d suggest is, with each hint, provide a situation where the function may be useful. For me, it’s just not the iPad functionality that’s obscure, being aware of situations where the function may be used is also obscure. Thanks!
The turn website into an app hint is fabulous. I sew, and often find incredible ideas while working on a project and spending so much time reopening a website this solves me hours of work. thank you so very much
@@Marnie1869settings, general, updates. If one is available you can instruct it to do so there. Some older iPads won’t update as there’s not enough memory or Apple isn’t supporting it anymore.
Thanks so much. Particularly for the easy screenshot swipe which I was unaware of. Also the bookmark app. I have subscribed as I too love the slower pace which is so easy to follow.
I am glad to find a good place to pick up slower than normal explanations for seniors , than the speedier ones before , now how about some problems solving situations.
For taking a screenshot, I think it is much easier to press the power button at the top of the iPad (when it’s in vertical position) and the top volume button at the same time. This immediately creates a screenshot, which you can then slide off to the left with your finger and it ends up in your recent photos.
@@Lwah0812 You could also set up screenshot as your double tap option on the back of the iPhone, if you are somewhere you prefer to be silent. But I only succeed with that about 1 in 5 tries.
I just found you and subscribed at the end of the first video I watched. Your voice and tempo are perfect. I’ve had an iPad for years, yet I knew none to the tips you presented. Can’t wait to watch your library!
Your video popped up and I just watched it. Thank you for sharing and teaching a 77 year old new tricks. Slow and steady and just right for me. I’m a new subscriber! 😊
Great vid Rich, I found it very informative. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more vids, maybe do some iPhone vids & how to combine & sync the two.
Thanks! I Your plainly explained tips are helping me to learn how to make better use of my iPad rather than just using it as a glorified iPhone and media viewer.
I’m an older user who learned new techniques today. Thanks! I also found that I have to turn on screen shot gestures in settings for that feature to work.
I stopped the video and did as you instructed and had fun from there thank you. I’m using the small keyboard right now ha. I can’t wait to get my albums sorted. Thank you very much or tyvm
Phooey, I got excited about Stage Manager but have an iPad Min 6 with 17.5 OS BUT the Mini doesn't have Stage Manager. Would be good for you to note that you areTalking about full size iPads. I have subscribed though as I like how you present things and I'm sure many things will apply to the Mini
I only have so much space left in my head. I’m afraid to branch out lest I lose some hard won prior knowledge. I’m going to keep watching you, my friend, out of my massive respect and regard for a guy like you. Keep on.
Fantastic, what useful information, thanks, I am 76 and I can just about get by, but already I have now moved something to my main page whereas before I had to go through safari, so that saved me a lot of time 👍👏
I’ve been using iPads ever since they’ve been out, and I learned several things. I did not know, so thank you so much!

You can slow videos down in the upper right hand corner of the video. I normally speed them up because they talk slow to make their videos longer

This is my first time enjoying your channel and certainly not the last time. Thanks and keep up your good work.

So glad I saw your channel on my Home Screen today. It is hard as a senior to see all the new content, and figure it out. Thanks😊😊😊😊

I have an iPad mini and can’t get stage manager. Shame.
I came on to say the same thing. I’ve never heard of stage manager and have no idea what it does.
Me too. I couldn’t find it on my iPad - maybe only on newer iPads?
Would be helpful to tell us what model he has.

I have trouble swiping up from the left- you have to do it just right or it doesn’t work. I do the same as you do with the buttons.
Even easier, just say, Siri, Screenshot.

@ I knew about that one but never use it because I have a wallet phone case and pop socket on it so it’s too thick to work.
Saved to watch again later. Worth it just for the first tip..
Some interesting tips there. Well done.
