I spent just over plus R30k and still wore a dress for R15k, had a professional photographer and fresh flowers decorate the whole church still. Atleast you did a save the date🤣 me twas just a WhatsApp message. Also had no straws and no flower girl. Like was just me and hubby. People made it seem as if I dont want a nice big fat wedding but you know what as a young professional it is honestly not worth it. Maybe once we at the point where R200k is just our bonuses maybe then. But one just had to honest with themself and realise there is a life afterwards, like where we going to stay and and and. Our biggest challenge wasnt raising plus R200k but was there is so much you can do with the money. Like you buy a decent car cash, we can deposit a plus R1million home. And I believe the fact we had to save 10 or so months was a sign that we cant afford and run the risk of getting into unnecessary debt.
I also didn't expect gifts. But hey to my surprise the people that got us got us proper staff. We even got a whole week vacation gift as well. So I also support the expect nothing motion. Because then the people that are really happy for will do the most.
Weddings are actually just too expensive for a single day, so I commend you for managing to pull of such a beautiful wedding for a low cost 🙌🏾 we STAN a savvy queen 👑
