      @@joelfranco4946 They are not getting paid to intentionally try to injure other players. They are getting paid for their skill set to play the game of football. Do accidents happen and injuries happen due to hard hits? Yes. Is that the same as intentionally trying to hurt someone like aiming for their head, stomping on players on the ground or twisting their ankles after the play like Burfict has done throughout his career? No. Seems some of you that defend him aren't able of telling the difference between two simple concepts like that, and just say "injuries happen" while not being able to actually look at why they happen and what separates certain injuries.

    13 suspensions compared to 3 strikes?

  • @Sarconthewolf
    @Sarconthewolf 5 років тому

    No player has to lead with their head. You can NOT do it. Sometimes accidents happen. But purposely hitting your head into another players head could break a neck or worse. Not only to the player being hit, but the player doing the hitting. They can look at a film and see who did the hit on purpose and then suspend them. Problem solved. Was he ever suspended for the other 12 hits? Or did they just fine him.

    No he doesn’t. The fines are in place to prevent/deter you from continually doing the type of things he does. It’s not just the hits it’s the twisting of people’s ankles at bottom of piles,cheap late shots etc. if you can’t follow the rules that’s on you as a adult. If he was a driver and those fines tickets his driving privileges would have been gone so why shouldn’t he be banned from the league?

    The form tackling I was taught in high school would now be a penalty. Those big hit reels from the 90s would now possibly land players ejections. Whats next, in game red jerseys for Qbs so they dont get hit? Almost seems like most sacks or qb pressures end with a roughing penalty.

    Watch it in real time. He doesn't have the benefit of slow motion to make his decision. I easily can see from his perspective that the receiver wasn't down and was going for more yards. The receiver put his helmet low, and owns some of the blame. Receivers used to fear "footsteps" for good reason. The new rules allow the offense to have a soft mindset, with little fear of getting wasted. Quarterbacks need to make smarter passes as well. In hockey they call it a "hospital pass" when a teammate puts you into a vulnerable position with a bad pass. The new nfl rules are pass friendly encouraging less run game. Pass heavy offense obviously has more defenseless receivers than a run balanced offense would. Bring back old rules and improve safety equipment as much as possible. Bottom line is this is a violent sport and they know what they signed up for. Punish clear misconduct. Bring back reasonable expectation of hard hard contact. Fear footsteps. Occasionally someone gets hurt. Sad but part of the game.
