The westerners follows selfish individualism . today , more and more esternes authors acknowledge that the chinese elderlies live long and healthy thank to their children , grandchidren live with them and take care of them .

Yes we have our genetic limits but also, it is the "quality of live lived" that makes the greatest impact whether in Sardinia or Okinawa or Loma Linda! I would like to add that Mel Gibson's dad did get a Mesenchymal stem cell transfusion when he was on deaths door in his early 90's and is now still living at 100 with better eye sight. When combining this with a life style that is mostly plant based and also having healthy social structures and a reason to get up in the morning I believe it can be great

In Sardinia we eat a lot of dairy, milk for breakfast, cheese at least once per day, cured meat, pork and sheep, vegetables, carbohydrates and a lot of pasta, with one glass of wine per meal. None of the centenarians in Sardinia is vegan, and they will ask you if you have any kind of issue and get offended if you do not eat meat. For sure they walk a lot and community support and respect old people. And I'm from the town in the world with the higher number of centenarians. My uncle died with 102 y.o. and he used to eat pork far every day for dinner. The main difference is that meat and plants arei grown by themselves, there are not even supermarkets in the town. Check yourself, take a trip to Seulo, Sardinia.

And if you look at the Village of Acciaroli in Italy (where there is a HUGE number of centenarians too (google about it), they eat shellfish with some regularity.
AMERICA gets some friends and stay active, eat healthy, don't over eat, and have a sense of purpose in your life. You can live longer and better lives.

You can have more life experiences, though. Sure, you will probably experience your loved ones dying left and right throughout your lifetime, but at the same time, you can contribute to society and experience a lot of life events in your life. I do agree, though, that longevity shouldn't be the main focus - since you don't know when you'll die - but to live a healthy life.
I found the Netflix documentary very light on hard data and lacked any depth. It even failed to mention other things that the centurions do or dont do, such as how much television do they watch per day? Do they ever eat ultra processed foods? Do they eat any desserts and how often? What jobs did they have when they were younger? Do they smoke? Do they drink? How much sunshine are they exposed to? etc. The documentary was also biased regarding vegetarianism. Many claim that meat is actually a large part of all the diets, with rhe exception of the community in the US.

As someone who deals with statistics daily, I cant help but see all of the assumptions made to end up with this conclusion. This kind of study is not exclusive to all foods, and will not tell you what foods make you live longer. It tells you about "some" foods and combinations of diets that have made people live longer. There is no way of knowing if these centenarians would have extended or reduced their lifespan if they ate beef liver, for example. Moreover, it kind of ignores genetic heritage, hereditary microbiomes, and assumes that the lack of meat is a reason why they lived longer without any causal evidence. The study is correlation based, not causation based, and focuses on groups and cultures, which means the possibility of hereditary causes are present. Most centenarians didnt eat meat because meat was not easily attainable - not because they thought it was unhealthy and wanted to live long. A topic like longevity involves literally trillions of variables, and because it takes 100 years and hudreds of samples to run a test, its virtually impossible to say that the Bluezones diet is "the best" way to live long. The biggest drawback is that 100 years ago, food was scarce in most parts of the world. People didnt have a choice in what to eat, so the chances of potentially different diets showing up as bluezones is low. I dont discount the study's value, but i think we should still learn about foods based on their effects on our bodies seperately, rather than disregard anything that the Bluezones didnt eat like its some kind of rule. In 100 more years, with our modern age and abundance of foods, we might see radically different diets showing up as new Bluezones. And i think if you collected data based on everyone who lived longer than 100 years "without" looking for bluezones, you might get different results since the chances of hereditary interference would be lower
The China Study was the largest study examining diet its correlations with disease and this study was scientifically compelling showing a largely whole food plant based diet was linked to less disease. Correlative studies are what we have for large populations over a lifetime we can’t put people in a lab for their lifetimes

Sure, you will probably experience your loved ones dying left and right throughout your lifetime, but at the same time, you can contribute to society and experience a lot of life events in your life. I do agree, though, that longevity shouldn't be the main focus - since you don't know when you'll die - but to live a healthy life.

I found the Netflix documentary very light on hard data and lacked any depth. It even failed to mention other things that the centurions do or dont do, such as how much television do they watch per day? Do they ever eat ultra processed foods? Do they eat any desserts and how often? What jobs did they have when they were younger? Do they smoke? Do they drink? How much sunshine are they exposed to? etc. The documentary was also biased regarding vegetarianism. Many claim that meat is actually a large part of all the diets, with rhe exception of the community in the US.

On my recent visit to Japan. I also thought that the hot springs and getting in and out of freezing water into hot water had a lot to do with bringing down the stress. As well as the community involved in visiting these places.

As someone who deals with statistics daily, I cant help but see all of the assumptions made to end up with this conclusion. This kind of study is not exclusive to all foods, and will not tell you what foods make you live longer. It tells you about "some" foods and combinations of diets that have made people live longer. There is no way of knowing if these centenarians would have extended or reduced their lifespan if they ate beef liver, for example. Moreover, it kind of ignores genetic heritage, hereditary microbiomes, and assumes that the lack of meat is a reason why they lived longer without any causal evidence. The study is correlation based, not causation based, and focuses on groups and cultures, which means the possibility of hereditary causes are present. Most centenarians didnt eat meat because meat was not easily attainable - not because they thought it was unhealthy and wanted to live long. A topic like longevity involves literally trillions of variables, and because it takes 100 years and hudreds of samples to run a test, its virtually impossible to say that the Bluezones diet is "the best" way to live long. The biggest drawback is that 100 years ago, food was scarce in most parts of the world. People didnt have a choice in what to eat, so the chances of potentially different diets showing up as bluezones is low. I dont discount the study's value, but i think we should still learn about foods based on their effects on our bodies seperately, rather than disregard anything that the Bluezones didnt eat like its some kind of rule. In 100 more years, with our modern age and abundance of foods, we might see radically different diets showing up as new Bluezones. And i think if you collected data based on everyone who lived longer than 100 years "without" looking for bluezones, you might get different results since the chances of hereditary interference would be lower
The China Study was the largest study examining diet its correlations with disease and this study was scientifically compelling showing a largely whole food plant based diet was linked to less disease. Correlative studies are what we have for large populations over a lifetime we can’t put people in a lab for their lifetimes
