Hi Dana, I’ve just discovered your excellent channel and of course I’ve subscribed. I’m an Englishman that loves and adores America with a deep passion. Your videos really help me to relive the sense of wonder and awe I get each time I hire a car and head of to my chosen area, usually Arizona and Utah. Thanks for posting your travels....
..... visit Silverton during winter. December there is lovely......not much snow the winter of 2017/18. I was there father's day week 2018....very dry...had a 32,000 acre fire that started 6/1/18 near Durango. My most favorite town in America is Silverton ...next is Sierra Blanca,Texas....due south at Rio Grande'. Great Video!....
Another great video. We just got back from a week in Durango/Silverton. You are right. It is a wonderful place. We had so much fun driving the trails that as soon as we got home we traded our 2014 Cherokee Trailhawk for a Wrangler Rubicon. The Trailhawk can climb anything it can get over with the rear locker engaged but is lacking in clearance. We drove LaPlata Canyon and the road to Clear Lake. We also took Lime Creek road. This is a fun bypass around a section of 550 on the route between Durango and Silverton. We did the Old 100 mine in 2005. I agree that it is a fun experience and worth doing. Safe travels and keep the great videos coming.
Thank you what a nice comment. I really enjoyed the area such a pretty place. I am sure you will be happy with the Rubicon. I will do my best to keep up the posting, thanks for watching. D
Great video. Took the train trip up there in Sept. 2008, spent the night in the Grand and took the train back to Durango the next day. Just like going back in time. Would've loved to see that old Hundred Mine. Glad to be able to see it in your video. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful town, but the locals have serious disdain for the tourist, and they are mostly crazy people. Having 3-months a year without snow and cold could be the reason, or the locals are just arrogant. Durango is a great town too.
My favorite town on earth
Very nice ! Thank you for posting this! I havent did the Old Hundred Mine tour yet. I need to check that out.
My father worked in that mine in the 60’s then we moved to Ouray, then Butte Montana
That is really interesting. Thanks for watching and the note. We are in Montrose now.
