  • It is an upgraded version of the hammer sound dowel jig.
You can make a round wooden stick the same thickness as the Forstner Bit.

I had a similar problem about a year ago and wanted to slightly reduce the diameter of 1m long 22mm diameter bars (as a connection between 2 tubes for a frame), which in practice proved surprisingly difficult despite my small lathe (Proxxon PD 400).
At the time there were few videos on the subject and the proposed single blade "pencil sharpeners" were not a solution that worked well for me.
The one shown here is a wonderful version of the "round stick saw".
However, there could still be room for improvement, especially given the feared kickback from the rotating saw blade.
How about if the carriage also had a similar 3rd and 4th mount for the bars behind the saw blade?
This would presumably also make it possible to produce much longer rods and guide them safely.

Also, can't you do your initial trimming INSIDE the box/jig (protruding your square stock only thru the 1st hole) to allow better dust collection?

입구쪽 구멍크기는 어떤 기준으로 바꾸는 것인지요? 들어가는 작재의 굵기에 따라 바꾸는 것인가요? 그리고 같은 것을 두개씩 만드신 이유는 뭘까요?

    • @JigShop
      @JigShop  Рік тому +1

      네 각재의 굵기에 따라 바뀝니다.

Dude I love build idea but surely it's still dangerous. Have u though about using some type Mag Switch custom fit jig to go across the runners. Ok so the Mag switches are a bit expensive but safety comes 1st my bro. Look I'm probably way overthinking it. Sorry bro. It's a brilliant idea.. Ppl are building jigs for everything nowadays.. It's crazy how many are out here now for this that and the other.. LOL

@@b3arwithm3 I drive offensively first. That way, I am predictable. I watch for Defensive (non-confident drivers - Igmo's, Drunks, etc), so, see them way before they surprise me, and, I am ready to do whatever I need to do to avoid an accident, etc..
Insurance is something you pay just "In Case".. Doesn't have a damn thing to do with a Riving Knife, guard, etc, which is what sparked your wise comment.
Just how long do you think Table Saws and sharp instruments have been in use?
How long ago did the Riving Knives come out? I REST MY CASE!! Riving Knives and Guards were not made and installed for Professionals.. They are for the,,,, (non-confident drivers - Igmo's, Drunks, etc)..
And,, The Safety Police?? Who are they??
The guys who have been using tools without ANY Safety Measures other than Common sense for the last 100 years?? Or, the Dip Shits that don't have any, and want everyone to do what they do, so, they don't look stupid and Fearful for no reason??
Maybe.. I know how to use a table saw without one. And, if I ever take it off, I have ZERO reason to put it back on. Make Sense??
I'm not going to wear a mask because, you chose to get vaccinated to be safe from me, but, want me to wear one because, you don't feel safe AFTER you took one..
I just bone up my immune system and laugh at everyone wearing the Face Condoms.. Ha..Ha.. Simple Science and Physics and 5 minutes of research tells you that wearing a mask to stop a virus is like putting up a Chain Link Fence to stop Mosquitos.. But, you can SEE that the fence is a STUPID idea.. But, 3-5 Minutes on Google would do the same for the mask situation too.. Just one thing... THE FEAR FACTOR.. You just don't Know For SURE,, if you are Right.. Hence the Reason you guys buy SawStops and use Riving Knives and Every Guard you can find... It's pretty simple actually...
And, No.. The Only time I would wear a Seatbelt, is if I were Drunk and could not drive,, and, I would not be driving anyway, so, that solves the Seatbelt problem.. Otherwise,, I'll have my hands on the wheel, and foot ready to hit the Gas or the Break to avoid an accident, and funny enough, the Gas is used just as much as the Brake,,, in the city anyway..
Do what you want to do.. I really could not give a shit.. You will never see me telling someone else "How" to be safe...
Simple solution to that is,, if you are Stupid enough to use a tool and you don't know how to use it safely,, well, Stupid is as Stupid does, and that problem will solve itself anyway..
Oh..BTW.. When I grind or wire wheel with a 4" angle grinder spinning 20k rpm's, weed eaters, etc.? No. I don't use safety glasses.
Why? Because, I know how to use the tool, and I know if I screw up, to squint my eyes for a second.
Used to have an old welder who worked with me. Always getting shit in his eyes.. Always telling me I should wear some.. I finally said after a few years.. How many times have you had to stop because I got something in my eye? He said.. Never. Ok,, how many times have I had to stop and help you because, you got shit in yours? This Really Dumb Look came over his face. Not sure why it didn't hit him the 4th or 5th time I had to help him, and I work 2x as fast as he does, but, it finally hit him..
He asked me why? I said. Have I ever thrown wire at you working around me in the shop? He said No.. I said, well you throw wire at me just about every time you fire up the wire wheel.. Know what the difference is? I pay attention, you don't because, you think your safety glasses protect you,, even though proof says they don't.. Me, on the other hand, I don't throw wires at you, nor do I throw them when I am going to have them bounce back at me..
His reply was something like yours would be.. BUT, you never know when something is going to fly up and hit you in the eye.. To which I reply.. How many times have I had and have you had shit in the eyes??
Then, I paused and said,, Next Question??
It is,, really that simple.. When you get something in your eye, when wearing safety glasses, you think it is a fluke...
Me.. I know it is because, someone fired up a tool and started spraying me, something popped me in the cheek, bounced off, hit the glasses AND THEN,, went into my eye...
I can grind all day long and not get a smut face.. My old buddy.. Half a day and he had a smut face. I used to say,, Not trying to jinx you buddy, but, from the looks of your face,, you have been sitting at the slot machine for quite a while now, you are sure to hit the jackpot if you don't start paying attention to where you are throwing your hots.. It was always just a matter of time.. Especially if he was working in a corner or something..
If you have it, you have it. If you don't, you don't..
BTW.. Ready for WWIII? Got your Food, Water and Weapons and Ammo Ready? This Igmo they "Selected" in 2020 is about to get us in a War.. Turkey is calling his bluff.. Wonder if he will even make it to Israel.. Obama was just in Italy. They had a 3 tiered clearance team out in front of him.. People are figuring this shit all out.. About time for the Woke to Wake up!! Ha..ha.. Go back to sleep.. It's safer in Bed.. And, that is A FACT!! Uh Oh!! I hope I didn't ruin your Week!!

Putting content like this out there without warning viewers of the danger and forces at work is a problem because you will likely be the reason someone loses fingers or gets hurt.
