    Had this same cluster issue after heavy rain, water pooled up in the brake booster compartment, from a drain operating incorrectly (clogged) caused the module to go wild. Almost certain this is your issue. Cheers.

    The tyre pressure monitor can be reset from the BC stalk via the cluster. My E82 doesn't have an iDrive and I do it from there. Random electrical issues can sometimes be caused by water ingress in the boot behind the rear wheels (in the rear-most wells). I couldn't see from the video whether this car has it, but the PDC unit lives in there (driver's side) and can get wet causing all sorts of gremlins on the dash cluster.

    Could you please kindly advice? I have 8HP55, but engine from facelift car, which has 8HP70. The facelift engine gives more torque on E clutch, do you think I could just reflash my current 8HP55 TCU with software from 8HP70? After three years of remapping the ECU and trying all kinds of stuff to avoid trans shif jerking 1-2 & 5-6 this is what I am left with, but I am concerned I could brick the TCU or at least do some damage to 8HP55 when using 8HP70 software. Andrew, great series on the 8hp45. What do you think the max Nm the 8hp45 can take at the wheel with the turbolamik controls? I believe I saw a video that you wanted to try the CANformance TCU control unit. What does your research say about this system?

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  Рік тому +1

      Unfortunately i havent tested a 45 to destruction. This car is still going strong. Its done heaps of track days but the car isnt making much power. Its still on stock turbos. I would recomend a hp45 for a stock turbo N54 so around 500nm, but if you exceed that you are playing with fire. Keep in mind the lamik does limit torque on the shifts. So in this car it is protecting the box and you can feel a big difference between a 45 and 70 when it comes to shift times. As for cantcu, it controls the factory tcu. So you still need to custom tune the factory 8hp tcu, which cost money and you still have those limitations. CanTcu, plus wiring harness and xhp trans tune, costs very similar to a Lamik, but it has less functionality.

  • @BaldBozo
