    Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Every week folk wait for the next episode of Empire or Scandal. I'm waiting for 1 Samuel!!!! Ha!! For real, every week, I'm waiting for my study! And I'm going to listen again right after I leave this comment. Two things struck my heart. The ending when you said that God wants the closeness more than I do and He's the one that put it in my heart makes me teary. I want to sit with that for a bit. And also when you talked about the Holy Spirit changing Saul. And how God Spirit changes us. It's so true. This tells me that if I just stay focused on Him, I will inevitably changed. Like a plant being watered, it will inevitably grown as long it gets that water. Well, I'm off to listen again and water my soul!!! Thanks Kim!!! :)

      I love this: "Every week folk wait for the next episode of Empire or Scandal. I'm waiting for 1 Samuel!!!!" Amen, @JCGIRL0001!!! :)

      Wow.....now I *know* you are doing some serious clinging to God to be waiting for a new video each week! This blows me away! :)) Praise God for your hunger for Him and your desire to walk closely with Him (and for God using these videos through my meager efforts to teach His word). And AMEN to inevitably growing as you focus on Him. If you're in His Word, you WILL be changed from glory to glory (beyond that initial CHANGE from death to life by the Spirit of God). Sometimes growth seems so slow because we're living it day to day, but when you look back and see where you used to be......GLORY TO GOD! So thankful for you, sis. You truly encourage my heart! xo

    It blows my mind that God is still God even after we reject Him. If there was ever any doubt in my mind, there isn't after reading this chapter. Praise God for His divine intervention over my life

      Amen, Laverne. This chapter leaves no doubt as to the goodness and grace of God....even in rejection. He's such a loving and gracious God! Praising Him right along with you for His divine intervention in our lives.

    God is still at work "even as He has been rejected." Amen - He is so good. When we read vv. 18-19 I started to think "Wow, these foolish Israelites. How can they reject God who was so mighty to save them? Fools!" But.......haven't I done the Exact. Same. Thing. when I thought I knew better or was mad at God for not working in the way I wanted? Yes, I've been there and I am SO thankful and awed that even when He allowed me to face conseqences of my choices, He was still there, working and waiting for my heart to turn back to Him. He is awesome and soverign and so worthy of our praise!

      Danielle, yes, yes, and AMEN. I too can think of so many times when I went my own way, yet God's grace, protection, and presence were STILL there. It IS a thing of awe. Like....why do You love us so?? He is such an awesome God. Yes, so worthy of our praise! Sidenote: have I said I love that we're hanging on UA-cam? Oh, I did? Okay, just thought I'd say it again. :)) xo

      @daniellembadu 7 років тому +1

      LOL you can't say it too many times, sis! :) I love it too......maybe one day we can actually hang in person! :)

    Kim, you make learning the Bible so much easier than anyone else I have ever listened to in the past 52 years. It's incredible. I feel much more motivated to learn the Bible now because your teaching style helps me concentrate more easily.

    Enjoyed this chapter! Saul trying to hide - too funny. 😂 I love that the Lord revealed his hiding place and it reminded me of Jonah and his thought that he could flee from the presence of the Lord.

      Yes! I hadn't thought of the Jonah similarity! At least he got a little farther than the baggage. 😂 Why do I chuckle every time I picture Saul trying to hide, lol. So love studying with you, Kiva!

    I declare the devil will not cling to me, so I can cling to God his promises for my life in accordance with 1 samuel 10, 1 samuel 10:9, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 and this message, putting evil and false clinginess under the feet of Christ and bound to the pit of hell, loosening myself only being ruled over by a king that has a change of heart directed towards God, while I loosen myself of every unequal yoke and common share with those ruling without a heart directed towards God almighty, loosening a change of heart that is directed towards God for myself, my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, opponents, and the body of Christ, in the name and blood of Christ! Thank you God!

    I'm so blessed by this journey with you my dear sis @kimcashtate. What a beautiful chapter of Gods love, grace and faithfulness to his people even in the midst of rejection. I'm also encouraged by this reminder that God does see the best in us. We have more in us than we know and if we cling to him he will continue to refine us and like Eph 2:10 (reveal the good works he has prepared for us to do). I was also encouraged in the last few verses, they are reminders that even when we are assigned a task by God or chosen by God we will have naysayers but may we be like Saul and may we "keep quiet" and cling to God and allow him to fight our battles. Love you sis 😘😘❤️

    • @kimcashtate
      @kimcashtate  7 років тому

      "We have more in us than we know".....so true, sis.....and how amazing that God knows *everything* He's put in us... As I read your comment, I thought about the things He calls us to do and how our human tendency is to doubt. Yet, God is aware that He's given us ALL that we need. I'm encouraged as well by Saul's ability to overlook those naysayers. When we're focused on the Lord, amen....we can keep quiet and cling, and let Him fight our battles. Glory to God! Love you too, sis. xo

    Verse 6 makes me want to shout...I, too, am pleading with God to continue to stirr up His Spirit within me so that "The new creature", The inner me will be evident in my daily life. I love these gems of the old testament that pointed to things that were to come...Christ

    • @kimcashtate
      @kimcashtate  7 років тому +2

      I love those gems that point to Christ as well, sis. Reading the OT makes us all the more thankful for what God has done for us in Christ. He truly is a wonder, that He would be so loving and merciful. Shouting with you at verse 6!

    I am very touched by this passage of God's word and inspired by reading along and how God brought about the New King Saul. Like you mentioned God did not reject/forsake his people because they were asking for a King and he blesses the 1st King of Israel 🇮🇱
    Thank you for sharing this message with us today my sister in the Lord ☝️☝️😍👍
