- Ben Burnley of Breaking Benjamin performed a solo acoustic show at The House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ on July 10th. Joining him onstage playing guitar and providing backup vocals was Aaron Bruch of Ourafter. Unfortunately my memory card reached capacity before I could finish recording this song! Still worth posting, and the crowd really loved it!
everyone loves tool
No one likes a tool though
Except tools
Love tool hate Maynard. Winery lil bitch
And breaking Benjamin
everyone loves breaking benjamin
Wow... I'm a huge Tool fan, and I don't listen to BB all that much....but I'm very impressed at this. Usually all you can find is a band like Limp Bizkit murdering a great song. This is actually really well done on acoustics.
Went to say the same thing, almost word for work word!
@@beenright5115 Wow... It's been 9 years since I wrote that comment. Thanks for bringing me back to this video. Still sounds amazing.
His fingers are fun to watch, very energetic
Well before being signed the band used to cover bands like Tool all the time and squeezed in originals in their set
Just seeing this video, he’s def no studio vocalist.
Ben is badass and a nice guy too. It was pleasure to meet him in 2015.
I dream of meeting or at least see him
He really does this song justice!
Stop whining cry babies...BB started as a Tool Cover band. This cover is Dope and I'm sure Maynard would have loved it too.
Now stope complaining and enjoy this clean cover..
#Learntoswim.
Regards,
TOOL fan.
Okay this should have definitely been like an acoustic DVD from them. This is badass.
I absolutely LOVE this band. I've seen them in concert more times than I can count and they just keep getting better and better every time. I love Ben's voice. It shows true talent when you can cover great artist like Tool and Nirvana and make them sound so amazing!
I really wish there was a full version to watch, boy, some of the best parts of the song were yet to come.
I can't believe he's back and I will hear his beautiful voice again
Amazing 🤘🏻😍 Ben is very awesome 💖
The best tool cover I have seen on youtube.
Before this I didn’t understand how a man could be attracted to another man.
I was saying the exact same thing at 16 years old in 97' but watching the original, the real deal at the Palladium in Hollywood.
Ben is just amazing!!! Great cover.
Absolutely amazing.
man i am dying to hear it completly!!!!
I'm very impressed, I'm a HUGE Tool fan myself... and i say " To each their own"... I enjoyed this version
Look at that concentration to the guitar work, it's amazing :D
Thank u for that video
So I told one of my guy friends how great Ben did preforming this song and he seriously slapped me in the face! lol! it is sad that its not the full song, but thank you for this recording because even a partial is 20x's better then the other ones i've seen!
You know what? This wasn't bad.
I used to be a huge breaking Benjamin fan and I still love the fact that they're from Pennsylvania and tool is pretty much tied for my favorite band so this is just a wonderful combination. He didn't ruin the song either, so props to Ben
So badass. I gotta say though Ben really made it his own vocally, he didn't capture the Maynard nearly so well as he did on the Prison Sex cover
He has a cover of Prison Sex?!?¡
@@gabryelous88 ye the new lineup did it during the DBD cycle and he nailed it
i miss this band we need them back
They're back and fucking awesome! Have you heard they're new song "failure"?
Was there still remember it like yesterday
❤️ acoustic wish had video/cd of the whole show
Welp. You win the game. Both nice video and great audio. Very well done.
Pete Loeffler of Chevelle should also do a Tool cover particularly "Stinkfist".
I'd LOVE to see Chevelle cover Tool! Their first album Pete sounds so much like Maynard
Don't they already copy off tool enough
@@ryanjsmith1973 lmao Chevelle sounds nothing like tool, not even their singer
All around great cover
man BB used to be my favorite band. we are not alone is still top 10 favorite album. and tool, good lord i love me some tool. this is great.
This was sweet! Not many people can pull off Tool, but he did a fantastic job!
I saw Breaking Benjamin at Amos" Southend in Charlotte, NC on October 3, 2006 and they did this song as an encore. It was 3 days before my 21st birthday, and since it was still their early days they actually played my favorite song Away off their We Are Not Alone album. Evans Blue played right before them, and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Breaking Benjamin always puts on a good show though, at least they have every time I've seen them. I haven't seen them since they changed band members though. I saw Tool a year later, and idk if it was just the arena, or where I happened to be seated, but the acoustics were so bad that I honestly couldn't even tell any of their songs apart. I've heard from others that they're usually good, but they sure weren't that night. Damn good light show though. Very pretty.
wow...wish that finished...killer job at that song
Fantastic
Really well done
Damnit! Where the hell is the rest of it!!!
He explains in the descripton.
2010 so he probably only had a 2gb sd card
Was there dang time flew
@BreakMyFall2008 Your videos of this concert are some of the very few live videos i can actually stand. Usually people taking their own footage at these concerts are unable to get anything of decent quality due to the crowd, or the technology they're using. You did an awesome job though, thanks a ton for letting me see these.
This was great.
@Lancion My pleasure sharing, man. Glad you enjoyed!
THEY ARE BACK
Damn this is a hard cover .....damn how do you even try to attempt Maynard's voice or song ...balls. Beautiful song
Breaking Benjamin was originally a Tool cover band. He does several of their songs very well. Ben’s cover of “Prison Sex” is great as well.
I'm fucking drunk and bbj is fucking amazing
Fucking preach it brother.
Crazy. I lived right across from Selinsgrove my whole childhood
Very cool!
great cover!
ah you have got to send me a copy too please!!! your videos are the best ive seen taken from this night
Finaly... Thanks!
No they will never break! They only get better! ELITE
Breaking Benjamin is one of my all time favorite rock bands, and Aenema is my favorite Tool song...Man o man that's great.
Replying to a comment made a decade ago. I kinda like the song too :D
@@coreyherr3471 nice; keepin' it alive!!
@@Cobalt_Colonel wish the ending was here
Amazing!! : )
i'm a sucker for tool and breaking benjamin, this is an official eargasm!
Damn this is such a good cover! So raging you didn't get the whole thing. I''d have loved to rip it to mp3 and listen to it all the time.
Wow god i love Tool, and Breaking Benjamin. Both amazing bands:P
2011 when cameras had shitty image stabilization. I always hated my nikon camera shakiness when I zoomed in. At least they corrected it a year or so later.
Ben man I love you!
How have I only discovered this RIGHT NOW?
wow he actually pulled that off, awesome cover
I knew this was gonna sound great. He kinda sounds like the guy from Tool and APC at times in his own music.
It would be awesome if the whole band did a recording of this song.
I think I'm in love...
did they play the solo????!!! its what I was waiting for!!
I LIVE IN BEAVERTOWN which IS 2 TOWNS AWAY FROM WERE HE LIVED AAAAAAAWWWWWWWSSSSSSOOOOOMMMMMEEEE
Ok the BB fans know that this video has pissed off a large majority of the tool fanbase, that's fair. How about we get a video of Maynard singing this song live AND playing the guitar at the same time??... Oh wait...
yeah right, because being at best mediocre at multiple things somehow is better than being very talented in one particular skill
Maynard doesn’t know how to play any instruments to my knowledge
i enjoy this cover, but maynard plays many instruments
I think Maynard used to play the drums, but i'm not sure, i can't remember
@@Nimarex bass
he's awesome
Sing through a phone book and that shit would still be AMAZING!!
i'm really glad i go to witness this show live...
great work on capturing most of these great performances. what happened at the end of this one? did you just stop recording or something tech happen? Either way, thank you!!!
gotta be happy with his cover of this awesome shit
I never knew that song would be that hard to play on guitar until I seen this video
I hardly listen to BB, but this is fantastic. FUCKING FANTASTIC I SAY!
Great cover! Breaking Benjan are great live. I just made an acoustic cover of
AENEMA as well ;)
Benjamin Burnely doing a Tool song!? FUCKING EPIC!
Holy shit, He does him perfect.
I agree. Tool fans are all "maynard maynard maynard" when they forget that adam jones and danny carey brought the most to the table. anyway, back on topic, Ben did some justice on this cover
he totally does!!
I don't know how Breaking Benjamin would feel about me saying this, but So Cold is the only song I know of theirs, however, after discovering their cover of Prison Sex and now Aenima, I am gonna check out more of there stuff just because of their salute to Tool.
+Victor Ryan Nice! You shouldn't expect too much of them just because they discovered Tool :P Nothing against them, Breaking Benjamin is my second favorite band (after Tool), but you shouldn't go in expecting Tool-like stuff or you might be disappointed. Go in without any expectations and you may very well enjoy it :) Many people claim BB's song "Phase" sounds a lot like Tool (Eulogy in particular) so I recommend you check that out. It's one of my favorite BB tracks.
He did have a right. He written "Blow Me Away" and no one else helped. Though I miss Aaron and Mark pretty badly, what Ben did was completely legal. I seriously hope things get better though. That whole compilation album wasn't intended to be out at this time so really, it wasn't just "Blow Me Away" that got Ben to do that email. There was much more content on that album that Ben DID NOT WANT TO RELEASE, but Blow Me Away ft. Syd Duran was the BIG DEAL for him.
Sweet
it is
They have also covered some Deftones songs like "Bored" and "Change".
That is whats up !!
Fucking Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@wormknuckles not really. Breaking Benjamin and Tool are my two fave bands. I listen to them both as much as each other. I know exactly what tool is about, it's just extremely deep to explain.
@chuck2acman since your his friend, do you know if he's gonna put any of these songs on a cd?
Yeah thanks for the cut off
top!
Tool- This Guy
@rolando4812 Oh, I see. That makes absolute sense.
Holy f... nice
Bb earned over 9,000 respect points
As a Die hard Tool fan this is a pretty good cover, not a fan of the acoustic but the vocals are pretty good
Exactly you might die hard literally waiting for a new tool album
because it's Ben :3
@@questioneverything3332 xDD
Really? I love the acoustic, I think acoustic covers are great because they always bring something new, and there's nothing like a drop d acoustic sound
And why... why cut off partially way through such an epic song. Oh my... nooooo.
Wonder how many fans knew it was the One and Only Tool
Im Pretty Sure He's In Drop C Tuning. This Is a really good cover. I like the mixed style hes's putting into it. It has that Tool Sound with a Breaking Benjamin Influence.
Drop C#
I can't tell, are some of the people singing along? Cool cover!
fucking awsome,
TOOL, IMMENSE !
dudes bad ass his voice
i know for the first acoustic show ben did he did forget it did he do at this one
Oh!? Where's the full video?... this was a good cover...😂😅
For one sweet moment I'm whole......
"Tool fans" - Nice generalisation you have there. And before you assume I am on of these 'tool fans' of such kind, Adam Jones is my favourite in the band and each one of the four are phenomenal in their own way.
