I have lots of memory in a Z28 81 blue like this one. My buddy worked as a mechanic in an engine shop. Building engine if nascar pick up race. 350 chevrolet highly modified. After a care, they change the engine. My buddy bought one after a race and rebuilt it himself. Worked ro pay the parts and at night worked on the engine. Went and help him. The car was mine. Sold my Chevelle 72 and bought a z28 81 with a built transmission. 3 speed B&M shifter. So we built the car together.
I swear to you...that car was a beast. On idle would go 35 km/h. At 120 km/h on third, y9u floored it and down shifted in 2, you would burn. Yup it did. We had so much fun. With a lock differential.

You can tell the people in the comments don't understand that these are used cars. Also, they're not going to be perfect. These cars are always going to need work done.
I've never heard Maple Motors say that these are consignment cars.

Love these 79 models, you can do so much with these cars . I once owned a Black 79z from Maple Motors and I wished that I had it back. It was a 4 spd. But didn't have t tops. This will sell. Great car Nick!!

What's funny is, at 14:20 I have a 71 Camaro with the MSD Atomic 2 EFI with a 3,000 stall converter, and I do the same thing all of the time! 😂 It's just habit, now.

I like it. A friend of mine back in the 80's had a dark blue 79 Z-28 with a 454 and Nitrous. It was awesome!

Half the accessory’s didnt work on my 79 Berlinetta in 87 lol. Good ole GM! But the car was fun to drive
The fuel tank sending unit had a bad ground. If you put a new ring terminal on the wire and reground it you would've had it working again.
Lovely car, but what were Chevrolet thinking with that dash redesign? I know the previous form had been around all decade, but that 79-on style is grim compared to the earlier wrap-around version that was properly stylish.
This is a nice car. It seems like it's fast

For your camera purposes remember Camaros Novas and Corvettes unit bodies if on stock 15 inch wheels loves to ride lower so your headers and transmission pan and crossmember and another part is going to be very close to the ground trust me I have had A 75 Chevy Nova and 68 Chevy Camaro and my drive way is down a hill 😅

Looks like they took the time to replace the fuel tank but didn't make sure the fuel sender works....or maybe it's just the gauge.

factory T tops I lost one one time driving down I 75 it wasnt locked it lifted off like a airplane when i looked in rear view mirrior all i could see was what looked like a cloud of diamonds (glass} 800 dollar mistake cause tou have to buy 2 fast times at ridgemont high Im a sucker for 2 gen camaros

Nice car. It's like when you buy a vehicle from the dealership...everything works. That's how I feel about buying something from everyone else. I've eyeballed vehicles from maple motors and was gona make a phone..but after looking at all the issues with the cars...I decided not to. Will watch though.

I had a bronze '79 Z28...looked fast...but wasn't. So what was the diff when the speed limit was 55 hwy, and there was/is no autobahn in ANY state!!

Good question. Looking at the production numbers, 79 was the highest production year for Camaro in history, with about 282,500. But 78 was not too far behind with about 272,600. 79 did sell about 30,000 more Z28's than in 78 though.

If it is not rated for 93 octane don't put it in. you can destroy the pistons.

That only comes from poor timing not fuel.
Running higher octane than needed will not destroy pistons. Running lower octane can cause detonation and possible damage.
I've ran 91 in my truck for yrs and no it don't damage nothing😂 with a carb it will run even better and not vapor lock with the crap ethanol and won't eat up the carb.
