Pretty cool that a 1968 Vette is self-driving!
So is no one going to talk about the ghost driving the car at the beginning?
In 1980...my friends dad owned a driving school...In Massachusetts..He had a 68 Vet..and a 78..Trans Am...For students to drive..Then a bunch of Dodge Valents..Slant 6..😊
Nice Corvette, love the color and the wheels. The motor has a nice rumble to it !!
Nick you missed a couple of things on this one. First of all, operate the wiper cover and wipers, second thing, you had a broken cable on the soft top release... Use pliers or V-grips to pull on the cable. you need to release the soft top from the hard cover first. Then just fold up the back of the soft cover B4 you release the hard cover...The cracks you see in the paint are mostly stress cracks because the 68 vette didn't use rubber body mounts in that first year.... Pot-holes and RR tracks cause these cracks for that reason......
The most beautiful car on the lot. Stunning.
Oh yes, I'm a Vette fan. A fabulous maroon color with a matching interior. She sounds awesome!!
Very desirable year. Runs very well. Not the best paint but a good 10 footer. The only thing I would change is the title. Love this one.
At first glance, I got a good vibe from this Vette. Love the color, exterior and interior. Love the wheels and tires. When the Vettes lost the chrome bumpers, they took a few steps backwards in appearance, imo. Why wouldn't they have PS on this car though? Love the 4-wheel disc brakes.
Yes I love the chrome bumpers on the Corvette for sure
How hard is it to add power steering. Steering box and all need changed?
@@gregblack8550 you have to change the gearbox
@@gregblack8550not very hard at all.
You can mount the power steering box in the same spot with the existing bolt holes in the frame. Power steering pump can be added with the correct brackets for that engine. What I’ve done in the past is just go to a scrapyard and get all those parts from a Corvette that had power steering. Then I’d buy brand new lines.
@@andyjohnson6548 thank you
What was the red light that came on when you got to high revs in 1st gear as you took off ? It went out at 8:17
That button tells you the wiper door isn't completely closed. If you own a 1968-72, you see it quite often, lol.
I was wondering about that light does it go on if a headlight door is having issue also ? I believe they are all vacuum operated maybe that is his idle issue and the reason for the light.@@howardscott7521
@@howardscott7521 Haha, thanks.
Sweet ride that button is for the seat belt light to turn it off 👍🏼my mom's friends husband has a 70 vette 😁
Beautiful. Same color as my '72 coupe. I'm told the button turns off the Fasten Seat Belts lamp. 72's turned off automatically.
This cars color is Cordova Maroon, your Corvette must have been repainted at some point to match it. Beautiful color, not very common, same as mine, Steel Cities Gray.
Yes it has been repainted. During a 'restification' in 1985 I had it painted Claret, a mid 70's Cadillac color.@@1972Ray
BTW, in 1974 I almost bought a 72 LT1 coupe in code 988 Steel Cities Gray. But I had to wait until 1976 when I bought the 72 coupe I have now. Wish I had the LT1 now. @@1972Ray
Had same year same color, replaced original engine with moderate built crate engine special heads. Mallory dual point tarantula ram manifold . Hooker headers lake pipes. 15 race master slicks. Original owner recked it on 95 got it for 1800 bucks.
Beautiful car Nick it's not very often you see an interior this nice in a Vette of this year also I like the late 60's with the split Chrome bumpers good price on this sweet Vette
That’s a nice ‘68! I have a ‘77 coupe with t-tops. White with dark blue interior. Nice shape but wish they would have stayed with the chrome bumpers. That’s a great color with the black convertible top too.Nice!😎🔥🇺🇸👍
The government took those chrome bumpers from you.
Love the angles and curves on this car.
You ain't kidding about that pipe sound. Real sweet.
Oh my goodness. Literally the best looking car on the lot.
Nick Between the gold one and this one which one was a nicer ride
I own a Vette with a broken top latch and cable. One way you can get the top down is to flick the lock with your thumb like I do.😀
Power steering and power brakes are a must on a C3 - Corvette owner
Early C3 convertible. A good appreciating classic for someone to tinker with.
When you start the car, the seat belt warning light goes on and will stay on until you push the seatbelt button which turns it off. If will not go out on its own or if you buckle your seatbelt. My guess is the previous owner may have pulled the bulb and it is just burnt out.
I'm 6'4", had a '73 Corvette with t-tops and had no trouble whatsoever fitting in mine! While I honestly loved the car, my one bad memory was how hot the footwell got (no AC).
One of my favourite all time cars. Love the corvettes.
Sweet ride.
😎😎😎👍👍👍
That motor sounds bad ass!.What a beautiful car, love that candy apple paint!.John Guinto
Looks like most everything works, Nice Vette Mickey 👍🏁
Ok ,I tied my phone in, so I could say something. I'm lazy, I don't comment. It's the whistling, what's up? I like your music that you put here where know you are whistling.
Be Blessed and Be Safe 😇
It’s a fair price. It only be with more as time goes on. Corvettes have a cult following so selling later won’t be hard. Prolly make a nice little profit and have fun driving it until you do.
Is it ok to just walk the lot and daydream?... I'm broke but nostalgia is a rare commodity...lol
I’ve done it! My kid goes to college in Nashville so on one of our trips, I made everyone drive up to Hendersonville to look at some badass old cars
I've been there a few times traveling to the east cost. Just walked around, friendly people.
Its a nice car. Looks perfect in my garage!
Drop the price for the fixes. Nice looking car.
Half the Horn is working fine, The Low Pitch Horn is not Working at all.
Santa's wish list just got longer! LMAO 🤣
You did not see the wet oil pan?
Pretty C-3, but I'm a stickler for originality when it comes to Corvettes. That car is going to need work. The windsheild wiper panel that conceals the wipers didn't move when it was turned on. It's vacuum operated. That could be fun to repair (It didn't work right when the car was new...surprised it lasted until the '72 model year). No power steering and no power brakes won't be fun to drive very long (I've had a car with manual brakes before...stopping is an adventure). This is pretty much a base car with literally everything manual. I'd pass on it, but to each his own.
Low spec, needs weatherstripping, a few fixes and get rid of those glass packs. $5 to 10K to make it a driver.
I got very lucky, my 72 had been frame-off restored, (not sure why so much effort was put into a 72) repainted the correct factory color, Steel Cities Gray, and all the vacuum operated things work perfectly. The lame 350 had been swapped for a 360hp, 327 from a 63 Vette. Power brakes, steering and windows. And by chance I live a few minutes from a Corvette specialty shop. I paid 28k, high for a 72 that's not matching numbers, but I would have paid more. This car, I agree with you. To each his own, manual brakes would kill it for me.
@@1972Ray Sounds like you bought a beautiful car that someone took meticulous care of. I've owned a '82 that was in good condition (for it's age), but it had a electrical gremlin that I couldn't track down (the battery would go dead in two days if left hooked up). I love the C-3, but before buying one, I recommend to anyone to get the car up on a lift, inspect the frame, and birdcage. If you open the door on a C-3 and see a rust trail running from the front pillar of the windshield down between the door, walk away. The body may be fiberglass, but it surrounds a lot of steel that can rust, which could add up to an astronomical repair bill.
@@chuckford5927 And they all leak to some extent. Corvettes were originally intended to be steel body, up to the last few weeks before production. A problem with the tooling led Harley Earl to consider fiberglass, and the early cars were just that. Starting in 73, Vettes were made with an SMC compound of fiberglass, resin, and catalyst under heat and pressure. In 97, plastic content was increased. The C5 and C6 cars have steel fenders, and the Z06 used a lot of Carbon Fiber. My Vette has cardboard door panels.
I bought this car. There was a ground issue with the ignition switch, wiper panel works great now. And it's great fun to drive, even with being all manual. The exhaust note is fantastic, way better in person.
Good job looking over the car
Look so much better with top Up!
Plenty of love for the plastic fantastic 🤘
Classic.
Hubby and I did not see any windshield wipers nor a place foe them.🤷♀️
Early C3 Corvettes hid their wipers under a movable panel. What a joke--in winter it would freeze shut and you couldn't use the wipers when you needed them.
It looks like a brand new Top
Corvette Winter the sequel.
Nice looking car, great sound!
All vintage red plastic hello 70's look.
Ready to buy
i love that color
Seems like a nice car-the part I’m confused about is he quickly mentioned how it’s leaking through gaps in the window and quickly scanned it with the camera-sooo, they aren’t going to fix it but just let it sit on the lot and leak? Seriously? And expect us to drop $26k! It probably is a simple fix like the window/s need adjusted or weather strip fix! But to just let it keep leaking is something I don’t understand when it’s sitting outside! Very disappointed Maple Motors!
No one is going to drive this in the rain if you own a classic Vette.
🙄 Danny, oh Danny, you missed the whole point my friend, but appreciate your response!
It's perfectly fine to drive, as I have been for the past few months. No 50+ year old car doesn't need work, unless it's a full restoration or a trailer queen which this car is neither.
Bird cage ? Cross your fingers, Hard to tell if you don’t tear it down.
The push button under the seat belt light turns it off. It should be on if you don’t use your seat belts. This used to be a free country were the government didn’t rule over everything you did.
Hey Nick Hi again from the D Michigan 😁 thanks for sharing this Beautiful Vette 🎉 man in my Driveway Merry Xmas 💕👍🤩
Great video 📹
Great car just hope the frame is ok sorry should have waited to end of video frame looks fine
Nice C3
Is the car sold ??
Try buying a 4 speed 68 Vette on Mecum for $ 26,000….yeah it needs some work…but the drivetrain seems good…looks like cosmetic…nice car though…😀
That is a good looking corvette!
🏆Sick🏆🍀get R done😎✌️
Radio delete?
Beautiful car, but needs little things repaired. Probably an easy fix for a grest car. I would take it home in a second!
I can't come up with any good reason why someone took the power steering off of this car. Why would you want a workout every time you drive the car.
Ghost Driver.
Yum.
👍🔥😎🔥👍
High school dreams
Hell yeah, put it on Forgiatos and swap out the wheel!
Hell no. Leave it original
I like it... 😉
Please. Let someone else do the videos.
Nope
I had one when new, what a rattle trap
Prolly all fixed now by the new owner
Love the videos but he is a Wuss thing has a 383 stroker and he never get on it in these videos so we can actually hear it.....
That's a beautiful car but it's a little too long
These Vettes are a dime a dozen online. Sellers are taking $10k for C 3s.
🐬🐬🐬
horrible tires
Aised ehite letter tires ruin the appearance of an otherwise classy looking ride
Top looks new(ish)…. What’s the slick looking spot on the back left? Just wet?
Nice. Vette
