@@briandavis8977 the red wire is a +12V power connection for the 4 cam LEDs, you can install a switch to turn on the LEDs or use the reverse gear switch

Thanks for that what is the loose red wire supposed to do with the rear back up camera! ? Also since in my Kia Carnival I already have reversing camera is there advantage to still install this Azdome back up camera? It says it will monitor anything happening when the car is parked. Is that true! (I have not started installing so I am wondering if it is worth the effort as it isa going to be some job to place the rear camera through the 8 seater van)
Hi @David Zuric. The red wire connects to the positive terminal of the reverse light. But if your car already have back up camera, you don’t need the red wire installed. With regards to the parking monitor, I can't really tell if that's the case since I don't have the red wire fixed on my car either, my main concern is to have the rear camera only. Hope this helps. so how does the back up cam works?
Hi there...my camera stopped working so I bought the same (or very similar) camera. I have two issues, the back up camera is round without the lights (whereas my old one was exactly like yours). First I tried the new mirror dashcam and it works fine, but the back up cam does not work. When I try the new back up cam (the round one) it works when i connect it directly to the new mirror dashcam, but when i use the existing concealed wiring the dashcam does not record. Maybe the firmware needs updating? If so, where can i find the new firmware. Any other ideas?

The LEDs should light up when in reverse gear
You need to wire that to your reverse light wire located at the back of your park lights so when you engage the reverse it’ll only come on then

Doesn't it drain the car battery? There's still a red light in the plug if I just leave it there.
@@bettersubsph It doesn't draw a significant amount of power that will drain your battery. And typically dashcam loses power once the engine is off, but in your case, I think you should unplug it every time you leave your car, especially overnight. Thanks.

Saan sir kumukuha ng power yung reverse cam? Kapag plug ko kasi sa AV yung rear cam, wala lumalabas. Need ba kabit talaga sa rear lights para makakuha power? I noticed hindi niyo kinabit yung red wire pero gumana pa din yung rear cam.
Hi @Migs Estrella, both front & rear camera are powered via AV, red wire should connect to reverse light to view 'reversing cam' everytime you put the gear in reverse, di ko kinabit yung red wire di ko na kasi kailangan ng 'reversing cam'. What is the purpose of red line?
The rear camera installed out side but when weather will be -50 temperature then what you do ? The camera will be frozen with -50 temperature.

What is the red wire for leading from the rear view mounted camera?
Should be attached to one of the wires of the backing lights so the rear camera will be activated whenever u shift the gear stick to reverse and the display will show only the view of the rear camera.
Is this red cord mandatory to attach or optional? My car already has a rear dash cam built in and activates when I do reverse but only used for backing and no video.

@@milyarder5758 Switch on the engine and shift into reverse gear, which bulbs light up is the reverse lights you are looking for. Reverse lights run on the same 12V and include 01 neutral wire and 01 live wire. Hope this helps. Stay safe.
The red wire is used to activate the reverse guide lines and leds on cam when in reverse. It goes to the red wire that is positive on the reverse light bulb. If you don't want the reverse guide lines, don't hook up the red wire . Still works .

Check the SD card is not fake, there are some fake SD cards on the market, which may not perform to their specified speed and cause recording problems, especially when recording at Full HD resolution. regarding the red wire, it should connect to reverse light to view 'reversing cam' every time you put the gear in reverse, but it's optional. Got it solved. I formatted the SD card on my pc as FAT format and left all parameters as default. Inserted the SD card in dashcam and it said again SD card format is invalid. I went thru the dashcam settings to format SD and it accepted it. The red recording icon showed on the screen right away automatically. Hope this helps someone

Es para la qué enciendan los leds de la camara exterior, te recomiendo ponerlo en el positivo del bulbo o leds blancos qué indican la reversa del auto.

Hi sir . Subscribed done . Paano po kaya ito . Pag inoopen ko po dashcam after 10 seconds nawawala po camera . Pag inopen ko po ulit as in wala ng camera . Pero nakapower on naman po . Yung camera lang po wala . As in black out .
Pwedeng hardware failure ang dahilan.
To check:
A) Restart the dash cam, update the system.
B) Restore dash cam to the factory default settings.
C) If the reason is still the circuit, send to repair shop to confirm.

Hi @Edgar Pongyan. Correct Sir, if the factory installed camera only functions as backing-up or reversing camera, kailangan pa din install yung aftermarket rear camera. Pag 'di po naka-connect yung red wire, walang backing-up/rear camera function. Just plain rear camera lang for monitoring and recording behind the vehicle. Bale magiging dalawa po yung backing-up/reversing cam should you choose to connect the red wire. Isang aftermarket and yung factory installed. Hope this helps, thanks 😊 .
