I think it's a great idea to try plastidip as a temporary idea. But honda does make eom quality smoked H civic and sport logos. Plasti dip isn't what it was as now people know it's a pain in ass to remove from larger projects. Wheels especially
Also you need to specify that the isopropyl alcohol needs to be diluted to roughly 15-20% from the 70% you buy at the store. So for example 3fl oz of 70% alcohol needs to have another 12fl oz of water added to it for 17.5% solution. Otherwise it will kill your clearcoat.

You just gave me the perfect alternative to blacking out my Honda emblem! I took off the civic and sport badge for a clean finish on my sport sedan. Now everyone is like, what model is that? Lol
I did the same to mine but I took off the Civic part. I don’t know why Honda still put chrome on their cars. Just have it as an option Honda when people buy your cars! Even if it’s a second hand , if the sales man said we could give you a de chrome on your badges I would have said “ he’ll yes”👍
thank you for sharing this video! It's something I have wanted to do since picking up my car in June. I am now debating either just biting the bullet and buying the black emblems and replacing them. (and the civic and sport lettering) or just removing the civic and sport lettering and replacing just the front and rear H emblems. I know I have less patience than you do and if I try the plasti-dip method it will look REALLY bad on my car, so I am not going to even try that. there's a lot about that method that I just do not like. so this way if I do the swap I can keep building my spare parts from stock replacement items box up. but I think my big debate is if I will like the back end looking a lot cleaner without the civic and sport logos and I know I will like the black a TON better than the chrome, never have been a fan of shiny chrome anywhere. love that most of the car already has black instead. So this will be a really nice detail to clean up sooner rather than later for me. hopefully make a decision and go for it soon. thanks again Chris! glad you are happy with your mods and having fun sharing your build with us.

I just picked up my 2021 hatch, and I’m curious… on the lower rear colored bodywork there is a split, but it is not on the right hand side. Do you know why that is?? Just curious more than anything! I ended up taking the whole SPORT emblem off, because it got so messed up from the Plastidip. I'm tempted to remove the Civic as well. I got shiny black H's for front and back from eBay for about $12, looks way better now.
White plastidip on the font emblem? It would be a nice tutorial on taping the grill. You can also show case a whole car chrome delete so it isn’t the same content on repeat.

Hey man just a recommendation for peeling, I think knife-less tape would be great for some of the areas to be able to get a super clean cut without having to worry about damaging the paint job!! By the way I love your videos I have the same model car and I’ll be saving up to do some mods in the future I wasn’t to sure about.

You can buy legit OEM Black Honda badges at College Hills Honda for around $80. You will be disappointed with this method here in no time because it will start peeling and cracking. Chris, spend the money.
Have had my emblems plasti dipped for 2 years. No peeling or cracking whatsoever. And even if it did at this point, I wouldn't be upset with the fact that a $5 can got me what I was looking for for over 2 years.

Personally I don’t mind a little chrome. With my polished metal color I feel like dip would hide my badges too much. Looks sick on your pearl color though especially with the black hood and door handles. 👍
Why didn’t you take the emblems off and do it on some kind of cardboard or some thing that way it may have been easier I think. Buy your emblems from Honda OEM yo or Ebay
I platidiped the wheels/emblems on my 04 4Runner. Been going on 6ish years and it still looks fine other than the spots that got physically scratched. And that is out here in the AZ heat/sun.
i bought the gloss black emblems from honda warehouse, which are OEM gloss honda emblems for $79.99, pretty easy install, just had my wrap guy do it...
I plastidipped mine but now I'm debagged and have block and chrome jdm emblems. Looks like the car should've came like that. You need like a couple of more coats on the rear badge so the lines are smoot on top when you peel off. That's why it tore up weird
I’ve tried dipping my sport emblem 3 times and every time it comes off the letters when I’m trying to peel it. I have hyperdip and it’s supposed to give sharper edges and have an easier peel, but the sport has been a huge pain in the ass.
you dont do glossifier at a later point. you do it at the same time so that you can peel the overspray at the same time. otherwise it will be impossible to peel the glossifier by itself.

knifeless tape isn't for plastidip, it's for vinyl. plastidip cuts itself.

Spray multiple layers let dry before applying another layer. Make sure it’s dry when you peel it off.
Seems like a whole lotta work. Why not take off the emblems off and paint or get new logos

He fail to do it. Best way remove the badge and chrome it. Use 3M double sided tape for attaching it back

Take off the part where there’s bubbles and reapply. Use a squeegee and make sure the surface is clean.
