weee! Tell me if this sort of video feels helpful :) we can do a "cook like a pro" type series where we go over things like knife skills, basic techniques, etc if it is!
Absolutely agree with all of these tips! I've been eyeing getting a salt cellar for some time now, and this totally sealed the deal... I do think I've seen you talk about this on your IG channel, but a video or reel on what kinds of salt you use for different recipes/styles of cooking would be so helpful for me personally! I tend to be more of a freestyler in the kitchen, but I never know when to whip out the sea salt vs. flaky salt vs. "regular" salt?? Also loving the kitchen updates and your bangs!!
Okay I'm definitely going to make a reel about salt now, love this! Rule of thumb, though, is finishing salt (flakey, rock salt, anything other than your classic sea salt or kosher salt) is for FINISHING so only once everything's cooked and plated :)
@@fresherica4402 yes please make a reel! :) So for cooking, do you use kosher and sea salt interchangeably? Or are there certain dishes where you would choose one over the other?
Thé moment i started using a scrap bowl, it changed my life!!!! Can’t cook without it now. Guilty of the salt situation. Need to change that situation ASAP. Which salt do you use? Berber thought of putting pickle juice on my tuna salad, looks yummy!!Have a great weekend Erica.
The salt brand is TJs but it's just sea salt, which, if you buy fine sea salt, will be the same across brands :) and YES I'm actually on my way to a class series planning session with Abigail right now, so can't wait to see you in the kitchen soon! Summer 2022 :)
Hey Erica! I found your videos while starting my own journey as a personal cook - they were really helpful! I was wondering if you are connected to other personal chefs in the Bay Area. I have an opportunity and wanted to get it out there to the community. Let me know if so!
Not Erica, but my go-to seasoning salt is kosher salt! I like both morton and diamond, and I use a coarse grind because I feel like I can control it a little better for things like seasoning a piece of chicken.

I'm a sea salt gal, Nadia! Lots of people go for kosher but sea salt is always really easy to find!
Love your videos. I am hoping you are doing another cooking class series! What is the exact brand of salt that is in your salt cellar?

Can you make a video on how to cut skirt steak? I have the hardest time doing it and that's like the number one thing for carne asada 😭
Hmmm I can definitely work it in somewhere at some point!!!
I recently watched SALT FAT ACID HEAT and learned I need to upgrade from my regular iodized salt. Do you have a favorite salt ??
Not Erica, but my go-to seasoning salt is kosher salt! I like both morton and diamond, and I use a coarse grind because I feel like I can control it a little better for things like seasoning a piece of chicken.
@@Chocolatepuppy21 thank you !!!
I do sea salt, but the kosher salt rec is great too! Just stick with the same "type" so you're used to the saltiness level!
