Awesome tutorial Marty!!!! Could you please do one on Twenty Flight Rock?
Hey Marty, Couldn't help but notice from your Live Stream that you are in San Diego. Do you teach privately in the area? If so I would be interested.
Thank you,
Dallas
Teach us Roll Over Beethoven by Chuck Berry
Davey Johnstone is SO underrated, and to watch him pull out so many different vintage expensive guitars for nearly every song is incredible, what a collection he has got 😮
This man is a legend, he inspired me to play guitar and basically taught me most of what I know, really appreciate his work!
Who do you mean, Marty Schwartz or Elton John, though Elton played piano, or Davey Johnstone?
Marty Schwartz, he basically taught me how to play the guitar.
Thanks for supporting MartyMusic Ashley!
Marty! You're the best, man. I got my first guitar for Christmas when I was 11. I was horrible. Didn't even know the basic chords. Took lessons but no teacher was teaching me what I wanted to learn. I never got better and I lost interest and stopped playing. Years went by, UA-cam became a thing, I decided to give it another shot, and found your videos. I've been watching your videos for years now, and I've gotten better than I ever thought I would. I play every day and I love it. Now I look forward to learning new songs every week with your videos. You've been a massive help for me, and for thousands of others I'm sure. Thank you
Wednesday, Wednesday!
First Burly Guard : Isn't that supposed to be Saturday?
Elton John : What day is it today?
First Burly Guard : Wednesday?
Elton John : Exactly!
@@KrzysztofKolodziejj kingsman 2 best movie hands down
Marty shows the clear simple fast way to learn. And he seems like a nice person.
Awesome lesson Marty - One of your very best. There is so much more that can be taken away from this lesson than just learning this cool song. Wow!
This is one of my all time favorite songs. That G/Dm/F/G break after the first chorus... I crank the hell out of that, always have. Death of a Marshall? I'm surprised how many chords are in this thing. Yeah those Keith Richards Brown Sugar SUS chords. I am a long way from playing this on guitar. I've played some of these licks on my Roland keyboard... or on my Hammond with the tube overdrive. Radio station here back a few years used to play this song on Saturday night about 7 o'clock but not anymore. Elton has done many fantastic songs but this one is his all time burner. There is only one guitar lick I crank louder - not a hit song. Opening power chords to ZZTop's Backdoor Medley / Backdoor Love Affair on Fandango. Such simple power chords but amped off the charts. #1 cranker, been doing it for almost 50 years!
Loving that strat
One of my favourite guitar riffs, and tone! Thanks for the lesson.
Savor this fellas, cause this is just about one of the only elton john songs where the guitarist gets too show off.
That's badass when you add the Looper into it...Fantastic!!
Superb stuff Marty!!
Great job as usual Marty, you are a great teacher.
Love it Marty, this was a fun one!
Thanks so much for your great lessons.
Great video Marty! That song’s a classic!
Great job, Marty!
Yesss! Love this song!
Cool video.I‘m glad I found you. Normally I listen to much harder stuff but this helps me to play classic pop tunes. I saw Elton live this year and it was magical. Keep rockin‘ 🤘
Marty you have the best rock guitar lessons on You tube
What a cool lesson, thanks Marty!
Good show Marty. Great presentation.
Thank you, you really are the best! 👏
It’s a fun little dance along the frets, I dig it buddy, thx
Well done and nicely explained.
You are the man Marty! I've been playing long before you tube, but you have made me a much better guitar player! Keep up the good work!
I've wanted this song for a while, thanks.
Thanks Marty, very very helpful. Especially the chorus end and outro.
10 AM. You are a great guy for these videos. I’m a seasoned lead singer and rhythm guitarist. Lost our lead person. So I bought a looper for easy transition stuff to learn some leads.
Thanks for your tips!! xoxo

Hey, could you please make a tutorial on how to play "Loose yourself to dance" by Daft Punk? There aren't a lot of good tutorials out there and I feel like you could capture the unique playing style of it. Keep up the great work, your lessons are what I use the most!
Thanks again Marty. Your lessons are some of the best on the internet. Anyway we can get a lesson for “my friends “ by RHCP or fearless by Pink Floyd.

Brilliant
Great song choice, Marty. I always liked this one, but now I know why - all those Richards-isms!!
Great job Marty. This is the song I crank up on the car stereo. Never tried to play it, didn't sound too hard, now I know, thanks to the Schwatz.
Great video man you should do leaving on a jet plane.
I love the videos u do and love how they come daily. I always wanted to see a devil in my veins by yelawolf vid...it seems so simple but I just can't get it to save my life
Random Pebble yes!!!
Great lesson Marty. I love this song. Can't help thinking Elton couldn't fight his way out a wet paper bag though. Also I wonder if one of the guitars on the original is in open G. It makes life easier to learn it in standard.
Will be practicing with my signed Marty looper tonight 🎸🎸
Hey Marty brilliant as usual, I've learned so much from you..
Any chance you can do a lesson on The corralls 74-75
Marty, it’s Elton’s longtime guitarist Davey Johnstone whose I think the only member of the band Elton hasn’t replaced. Good job 👏 so although I needed the chords I have to go and see what key would lead be in. I’m thinking C minor. I am tuned down to make things more difficult for my brain but better for bends.
I know I’m way too late, but the verse of the song is in G mixolydian (same notes as C major) and the chorus changes key to C mixolydian(same notes as F major)
Nope, ray, davey and nigel and elton ofc are all originals
Nice, Marty.
Great!
Thanks Mart'r

Hi Marty, I have a song that I would like to get down. It's "Back on the Road Again" by REO from the 70's, It may not be the most popular song ever made but, I've always liked it. Thanks, Tim
Hey, would you be able to do a cover of Revin my Cj7? I haven't been able to find one anywhere!!
Can you teach the song "broken brain" by the Frights? I really love it and want to know how to play it, haven't learned much from looking online
Can you please do a lesson on teaching the guitar solo from ‘I couldn’t be more in love’ by the 1975, I’ve been struggling a lot with it
the chords after the intro/chrorus remind me of Rock and roll by the velvet underground
It's root chord, dominant seven, four chord, used in a bunch of songs, also Sweet Nuthin by Velvet Underground, Sympathy for the devil, Sweet child o mine , Hey Jude and so on
If you could break down the grand optimist by city and colour, or fragile bird, or anything off of the little hell album I’d be super stoked.
I think on the record there are two parts overlayed on the intro. The second part hammers on the B (13th fret) and D (14th fret) strings.
Hey Marty, great lesson for such an awesome song! Would it be possible for you to put something together for the song "Give It Away" by Shannon Noll? I've been searching for the chords and haven't found anything as of yet. Thanks!
