Rescue & Adoption Story. Lahaina fire cat Maui.

Meet Jewel. She was found as a stray in the burn zone of Lahaina after the wildfires last year. She had nobody to care for her. Jewel was taken to the local shelter, and provided with a quiet environment to recover from stress. Within days of arriving at Cat Cafe Maui, she was adopted by a woman vacationing on our island. It turns out she once had a beloved cat named Jewel, and the two were instantly drawn to one another. It was kismet!

Jewel and her new mom flew off island together and headed straight to Maryland, where she was welcomed by her multiple happy cat siblings. Jewel started her new life with a new name: Maui. Congratulations, Maui! You did it! 💝
