“Man, what a week. First all that darned fireworks noise put my nerves on edge, then my girl Glamour had an ouch. At least she got better. … I need a hug, Dad.”
Times like this, I am reminded how lucky I am to have a cat that runs to windows to stick her face against the glass during thunderstorms. She would rather die than share her Churu with another cat, though.
There is a very famous video of a gorilla who is able to use ASL. His mother was murdered by poachers when he was a baby. He had never talked about it and they hoped he had forgotten but then one day he described the whole thing in ASL. It was gut wrenching to watch. You could feel the permanant scar on his soul. I will never forget that. We constantly underestimate animals and it's so stupid of us.
No, he gets his points across. We got him a few months ago and he has been in the shelter 10 months! His previous owner had left him alone a lot and he literally chewed his tail off. He's got a stubby tail now. He's come so far it's unbelievable. We love him to pieces and the feeling is mutual. He hasn't really learned to play without some biting but we're working on it. We laugh because sometimes we get the stinkeye, like he's playing it cool. He was a "take a chance on me" cat. He's the best.
@@nadinenc3097 I had a cat like that once, except that he was a kitten when I got him and he still had his tail. He was the best. I bet I still have some of the scars he gave me, but we had an understanding.
I have a few words in multiple languages and sometimes have to think for quite some time as to which words to use, Todd is just taking time to process from cat to English
The full week recap is new. He has often told me things he is going to do like take a nap or single events that have happened in the past but never about 3 things that happened during the week.
The cat is randomly pressing buttons; intent is being inferred. The cat doesn’t understand what the machine says. It’s what you want to believe is happening rather than an objective reality.
While i can see why a sentence of this length/complexity might be up to interpretation whether Todd truly understood what he was saying, i really suggest you watch the video this channel made in response to Jackson Galaxy on this topic. It gives more credence to Todd actually understanding what these buttons mean in my opinion. What did it for me is the initial video of Todd using his buttons to explain that Glamour’s back was in pain (which the video then says that later the vet had told them Glamour had a back injury). Something like that isn’t just a coincidence to me.
I noticed the activities before he pushes the buttons, also. When doing energy work, my instructor says yawning, especially, is a sign of energy being released. Todd is using a lot of energy in his efforts to communicate. Bless his little heart for wanting so desperately to speak with you and be a spokesperson for his fellow housemates. He's too wonderful for words!!!
See, there was this noise before, Dad...then Glamour had an ouch, but then she ended up happy. He really is like a very young child telling you about his week!
When he first said "then", I was wondering if he was trying to ask if the fireworks are going to happen AGAIN. I know he understands "before" & "then", but "then" might be the closest word he has available for asking about the future. Using the "hmm?" button would clarify it's a question, but I don't think he tends to use the "hmm?" button much, does he? Maybe if you focus on modeling that button more, he'll use it more to clarify himself better. After watching the whole video, I agree he could've been sequencing events, but my first thought was, maybe he needs an "again" button!
It’s so impressive, time is such an abstract concept, but I guess just growing up around a human speaking English makes it easier to teach when it gets put into a button. I always say my dogs understand English even without buttons. I would love to get some just to see how many words they could actually say back to me
Was thinking that too about “then.” How can a car understand then and before! I’m a huge proponent of animals and their emotions and intelligence and I’m still astounded by what seems to be an understanding of time words.
@@kristin5551 Great question. As with most of Todd's training, it is all modeling. I generally wait for Todd to ask for two things, let's say it was Pets and Belly Rubs. For Then I would say on his board after we were done Todd Pets Then Belly Rubs. For Before I would say as soon as he asked for Belly Rubs. Before Pets Now Belly Rubs. IN time he makes the connection to the time words.
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks How far past, can you tell? 😮 I remember reading somewhere that cats remember things as far back as 16 days, but imo they remember much longer, I don't know who came up with the 16 days and why exactly that, either. 🤔 Would be great to know what Todd thinks of it. He is adorable! Glamour is very cute and pretty, and Paulie too! 😊❤

@@Esti-xg7tg I know when Todd was a kitten and very ill he got some prescription immune system-boosting treats that he loved like they were candy. For the first week, I put them in a drawer in my desk then moved them when I saw him trying to open the drawer. Todd is now 7 and to this day if I open that drawer he comes running as fast as he can and wants to look to see if there are any in there.
I had a cat that loved music. If she could have played piano in the same way that I could, she would have played for herself. But when she realized the limit of her paws you could see how depressed she was…she still enjoyed listening to her human friends play. She also showed preferences for some songs over others.
We have incorporated "no more, all done" when something distressing has passed and is not expected to continue. Its puts them at ease in distress and lets them know what to expect when getting treats.
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks you already know how much these cats love you and we can tell. I literally ran to my parents to show them this video and how smart Todd is, and that can only happen in a nurturing and loving environment
Yeah, he does do this a lot, just for the sake of communication with his human. And some people still think the buttons are just a learned behavior for food rewards.
Awesome. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I will help if I can. Also, the link in the video description will get you 12% off anything totaling over 50.00 at checkout.
How much is it in total, you guys? This is AMAZING, I've never seen anything like it!! My girl and I would be in constant contact and have many conversations, she knew so many phrases, even knew when I was spelling something. They are so smart!
WOW!! That was a cohesive 7 word sentence that definitely made sense in light of the week's events. Todd really is amazing!! 🥰 For anyone who thinks that the cats and dogs using these buttons are just pushing them randomly, why would Todd go around to the other end of the mat to ask for floor time?? If it's just random pushing, it would make sense for him to sit in one spot and just push the buttons in front of him, or walk on the buttons and just press them all. But he thinks very carefully before using a button, and he tries very hard not to step on buttons if he walks across them.
I feel like the only limitation in our communication with them after seeing Todd's interactions with Dad is our own inability to teach the concepts for the buttons. My poor boy Brutus spends ALL DAY yelling at me and I know that he needs the whole suite of buttons ASAP, because he wants to tell me something.
Love that you resprct their boundaries by asking if pets are okay. Its something if always done with shy cats that want pets but dont necessarily ask for it. I offered my hand and only gave pets when they reached into it. After a while even the shy ones came up for hugs. Just because some pets are small and cute doesn't mean they dont deserve the same respect as a big animal.
No question, a recap of the week in exquisitely succinct form. The use of "then" to separate the elements makes it really clear he was telling the story. Not only can animals learn to talk in language we understand, but their individual personalities and souls are exhibited in the things they choose to talk about, point out, complain about, ask for, and in the way they put those communications together. Hey, just like humans!
It shows that they can tell a series of events in the correct order that they happened, as well. Before, this happened, then this, then this. It's something tested for in psychological testing in humans.
Wow! Todd's communication skills just get more impressive. I liked how he waited to make sure you understood what he was talking about before he asked for Floor Time. And the video of Glamour washing Todd was so sweet. He looked so relaxed.
It's actually a 9 word sentence. Noise, NOISE, NOISE before! To emphasize how much noise it was and how loud it was (as he doesn't have a button for this). Not just any random noise, exceptional noise!
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks I understand :) but technically, they aren't just repeats, they change the meaning of the phase. he doesn't have adjectives to emphasize that it was a lot of noise and that it was immense. Many languages actually do this too, repeat adjectives to mean 'very X' or verbs to mean 'Xed for a long time'
@Yutah1981 and I did teach him that multiple pushes means an increase in want, time, and/or need. When I travel, I tell him Dad home later x how many days I'm gone, then I talk to him each night through the camera and update him on how many layers till dad gets home.
The only thing I’d mention is you should use more of the words on his board when speaking back to him. For example, you told him “Glamour isn’t up here” when you could have used the words he actually knows like “Glamour downstairs”. He might not understand “Glamour isn’t up here” leading to miscommunication. Or when he said “Want Glamour Floor Time” you assumed “want Glamour” was a separate utterance from “floor time”, when really he was specifically wanting floor time with Glamour. I would have said “Glamour downstairs. Dad help Glamour upstairs floortime” then went and got her. I think consistency and repeating only the words he knows and understands back to him when communicating would help take this to the next level. When Glamour finally appeared you did intermittently mention a few of the words on his board such as “Glamour”, but I think you could have been a little clearer, such as: “Todd want glamour floortime before” “glamour upstairs floortime Todd now.“ “Todd happy, hmm?” or something to that effect. You’re doing great though, this has been eye opening. These have been very rewarding to watch.
I had the same thought EXACTLY. I have a deaf cat now someone dumped in front of my house 3 yrs(oct.) ago this fall .. took till april to take her and gain her trust and she came in the house and never left. I communicate with her using hand gestures. They arent dumb. She is very vocal when she talks to me. Common sense goes a long way with all animals. I've always had an easier than time with animals. It's people I struggle to tolerate. Use her words. That's all. This is very cool. Is it expensive?. I'd bet not something a guy like me could afford on fixed income with 5 cats a dog and 2 horses ! They All communicate in their own way. People should connect with their animals and not treat them like possessions to entertain themselves with when convenient and otherwise ignore. They've as wide a range of personality as people-- almost. Except none are total dics !
@@ss67camaronut price, like everything, depends upon location. They're not cheap however prices are dropping all the time. So you can get bundles at reasonable costs now. I recommend starting your Christmas list now 😉 do beware quality is variable between brands. If you search youtube for talking animals you'll see a variety of different buttons being used. Cats and small dogs definitely need the smaller ones.
Amazing. Simply amazing. Todd told you the sequence of the last several days. And the way he used the connector "Then" to sequence and connect the events chronologically. THAT'S really amazing.
There is a lot going on in that adorable little head of Todd’s. I do think he was mulling over the weeks events that had impacted him. It was nice to see all of your sweet fur babies together! What a blessing they are 😻😻😻
This still blows my mind that cats can form complex thoughts. And this doesn’t include dogs either. They are a whole other beast that can effectively communicate. We underestimate the intelligence of animals, and it makes me appreciate them more.
All animals have complex thoughts, and even communicate between species. This extends to plants as well, and plants and animals also interact. It’s humans who walk outside into their living spaces and don’t think to observe and “listen”, then join the conversations. Biblically, we were meant to oversee this world, and interact. I can see why anyone wishing to control the world would (did) aggressively make the book and the useful information within it as distasteful to as many people as possible. Create formal organizations claiming to be in alignment with it, omit the most important parts, add other parts that burden, and add control mechanisms, including, but not limited to middlemen and a hierarchicy, and for any they cannot deceive on that level, do very negative things to repel everyone else and create an association of repulsion and the book. If you pay attention, and speak to every living thing, you’ll notice they will begin to respond to you, some immediately, some may observe you and your intentions for awhile. For many years, at night, about 2-3am, I’d go on a kitty walk with the community kitties (they lived to 20-24 years, that little family, after that, I got more medical issues and the neighborhood got less walkable at night, so we interact in the daytime now, not remotely the same. Night is where the action is). The first time, I was on the front stoop around 2am, and 3 of them (mom and her 2 adult boys), approached me and clearly with body language asked me to follow them, so I did. Once in awhile, other kitties would follow along on the kitty walk as well, at a little distance, closer or further back (like 50-100’ if they were not as familiar with the others, but they’d stay on course), depending on how well they got along with the others. The kitty walk was born. They showed me how they patrolled the neighborhood, went through the yards, and check out everything. They’d investigate suspicious objects, (ex: the rims on this car have something EXTREMELY interesting smelling in them, etc.), or show me what was bothering them (ex: raccoons, they’re living over here, can you get rid of them? They frighten us! I tried, it’s expensive and difficult, can minimize the attraction of them somewhat, though), and a kitty might sit on the porch at night of some neighbor who was sick, keeping a vigil, even though that person/household didn’t have or interact with kitties. They knew and kept basic commands in French and English-look out! (car or dog off leash and let loose at night is coming), dog, wait, come, hurry (especially when crossing road, or impending danger, such as the dog off leash), and more. One, the one who lived the longest, could SAY 7 words- ya (more casual), yes (more emphatically so), no, maybe, I don’t know, mom, and one day he said “Ow”! and I scooped him up immediately and took him to the vet. He had an abscess in his mouth, apparently got in a fight and a claw had cut into his mouth (fur hid this puncture wound) and got infected. He was healed from that. They also would stop at various plants and trees and had a clear relationship with them. Some trees, all the animals seemed attracted to them. One day, I heard a loud crew outside sounding like tree cutters and went to see what was up. They said they had to take out 2 trees that were not visibly diseased, but the city arborists routinely check every parking strip and park tree, all city trees, so they found something amiss. These were the animal’s favorite ones, they’d roll all around them, turning grass to dirt, they’d rub up against them on every walk, and spend a good deal of time. I’d just wait and talk to them until they were ready to resume our walk. Also, one night I got the instinct to take off my shoes and stand with my forehead on the trees, so I did (carefully checking for animal waste, some neighbors don’t clean up after their dogs). And in my minds eye, just as you can “see” what your kitchen or car or whatever looks like, I could see a pattern for each tree when I touched my forehead to the tree. Each species had a different pattern. Two of them had distorted patterns, as if printed on plastic and stretched and twisted. I unapologetically told them I had to tell the animals first, because they were friends. They’d need to say goodbye. I asked them to wait, and they did. I got the one who lived the longest, he was available, the others were further out and about, I told him, and he came to say goodbye to the trees. I apologized to them both, that it was out of my hands, I could not stop them from taking out the trees. The men were great about it. I said I didn’t care what anyone thought, I talk to everything and those trees ar beloved. They said they were glad to see the, so appreciated. I asked them for the bottom 3’ of each one, when they cut to the ground level, which they cut for me. Rolled the first one down the street to my yard, quite a task. Asked them to help load the other into my trunk, they did. The 2 stumps are still lying, one crossed over the other, and the kitties visited them every day. New ones do the same. I have logs for firewood, and other stumps from a fallen tree, but these 2 stumps get more love from them. They even set off big shoots at first, maybe if I’d have buried them they may have grown a new tree. These were the 2 trees where I’d seen an energetic pattern just weeks before. It felt like the trees told me to “see” them by doing that. I have many interactive tree stories, on a still night, only the one tree with which I was interacting would wave its branches as I’d touch it, big, solid trees, or one would wave to get my attention, and it needed some attention from the arborists, things like that. Trees extend energy to other plants, trees and animals (and humans) in distress. Hug a tree, put your forehead on one, or stand or sit with your spine aligned against a tree for awhile and see what happens. Of course the world will mock the very things you should do-talk to everything, hug a tree, go to it for strength, and yes, like animals, ask, find the one most agreeable to helping you, there will be a difference. Of course a healthier tree can give more to you. And then there are the birds, they’ll tell you a lot if you pay attention, and bees love to be appreciated, rather than have giants (humans) scream loud noises and wave their arms-perceived as an attack, and for what? They’re just going to their job, and they get attacked for no reason? Of COURSE their friends will come to their rescue if a giant is attacking them, so just think of them as going to work, keeping the world’s food supply coming, keeping everything pollinated. They aren’t interested in bothering anyone, but they DO and should defend themselves. That screaming and waving is terrifying to a little bee, and they didn’t do anything to deserve it. When they come to collect pollen from my ivy, they come about a dozen per square foot. They load up so heavily, it’s like they have bright yellow water wings on their little arms, and then they load it on their backs as well. They take big loads. I sit and talk to them, thank them for their work, and can come inches from them and have no issues. I apologize if I rush in, not seeing them. They will come and hover right in front of my face, turn to me, hover awhile, and go off to deposit their load. Birds will follow me around the yard from shrub to shrug, butterflies will dance along ahead of me in the yard in a lovely choreographed dance. The whole of creation is just waiting to hear from you, to interact with you, they expect it, and the silence from humans all this time has been deafening. I figure it’s rude to come into their space and not even acknowledge them. Can you imagine someone barging house every day and not even acknowledging your presence at all? Humans are rude to creation, and they were supposed to be the caretakers, the one to have dominion over all, a loving dominion, but also all of creation was made to serve humans. And humans have totally dropped the ball. Just think how different life would be if people talked to plants and animals, and they served them, helped them, works both ways, and yes, they do have to feed them as well, but any vegan who thinks he or she isn’t taking a life is sorely mistaken. Plants recognize their assailants, they proved this even 100 years ago. Life feeds life, that’s just how it is in this fallen world. Humans haven’t even scratched the surface training dogs, cats, birds (carrier pigeons), sea creatures, etc., and what little has been done is nowhere near what is possible.
Maybe he was trying to tell you before that the noise (fireworks) hurt (his ears and maybe Glamour jumped causing the back issues) but now glamor is happy and feeling better. ❤❤❤ You're such a great Cat Dad.
I think he was recapping the week, too. It does match events and make sense. It also fits what we know of both cats and Todd. Cats, in general, like to schedule things. They're really into one thing happened and then another thing happened or is going to happen. Usually I see them scheduling things for the future, but it does make sense that they might recount the past to put things in perspective. But it sort of fits Todd specifically. That time when the jingle ball got crunched and he went upstairs when you got home and sort of seemed to be talking to himself, trying to put what happened in the past in context for himself. I'm glad Todd got rewarded for passing messages. Or just for being a good boy that day. Makes me wonder how specific cat body language is when interpreted by cats.
I am very much not a cat person. I don't have anything against cats, and if a dear friend needed me to take care of their cat because they couldn't any longer, I would truly love it and care for it until the end of its life. I'm a dog person. But there's something about Todd. ❤ He's special. Thank you for sharing.
My big old tabby tomcat has a lot of dog-like qualities. We call him a puppy-cat. He is sweet, loving and intensely loyal. However, he is a lousy guard cat, hides in the closet when the doorbell rings.
Wow, I am speechless over Todd’s press release, reporting on important events in Cat Life! Do I think Todd thinks about his life? Of course, in fact : Todd thinks ergo he is! Watching the three kitties get their treats was quite fun. Queen Glamour does not share very well and wanted to nudge out poor Paulie, and she also quickly decided to hunt down the empty treat tube on the table before Dad had to grab it away. She sure likes to be in charge,,but frankly the sight of her grooming Todd in his basket gave us a whole new perspective of the Queen. Maybe she is the Queen Mum….😺
I just wanted to say that Todd is almost identical to my Bandit who recently passed away after 22 years...his mannerisms and look are so similar... thank you for the opportunity to see this... it's beautiful and amazing.. it's almost like having My boy back... I'm so grateful for this!
Cats are remarkable! They seem to take to the buttons as easily as dogs do. I love that we have a way to now know what they think and what they want to tell us. I love it when they have questions! I wish they had these buttons for pet rats. Rats are highly intelligent, and I would love to hear what they have to say and what they think about! I had two sweet little pet rat sisters, and they were amazing - sweet, clean, loving and so smart. I have also had cats and dogs and I love them all!
First time watching a video from this channel. Seems to me like cats really do regulate emotions a bit similarly to humans, more than I would've known if I didn't see them communicate with these buttons. Talk to you about things that were impactful to them, then ask for physical touch. So fascinating. 😊
That was so very nice of Glamour to show affection to Todd now that she's feeling better.❤ What a 🙂 nice and loving way to express her appreciation to Todd for communicating her need to see the vet. ❤
I think Todd was definitely talking about the events of the week, it's clearly been quite the week as far as he's concerned, worthy of note. I congratulate you for managing to feed a liquid treat to 3 cats at once, my girl is a Churu addict and has very little patience when she sees me get one out of the box, I don't think she would be as polite as your 3 .
It was an extraordinary week with two special events: fireworks and Glamour’s bad back that Todd told Dad about and helped get it better. Definitely worth remembering and conversing on. 🎉❤❤❤Todd is very good at talking: one of the best talking cats. Stella also show this trait: planning her day ahead and sometimes talking about what happened that was memorable. It’s phenomenal. 😂🎉❤I’ve no doubt toddlers do this but cats and dogs, wow this is a little more than even I ever expected. Boldly going where no one anticipated buttons could show us. I’ve always believed cats and dogs had the capability of talking. Bunny tells us about his dreams. Love all of it!
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalksShe reminds me of my senior girl, also tortie, who sadly passed this January. She wouldn't share her treats btw but always let the youngster eat all her other food etc. We both miss her dearly.
I’m going to set up some talk buttons, Todd is a good example of how our babies can communicate if we make it easier for them….excited to hear what Ralphie and Bella might have to say! Love your channel!
I should seriously consider getting buttons for my cat. She is the chattiest girl ever and will give me the HARDEST stares in existence. It's like she's trying to force some kind of telepathic message to me but it ain't going through and she gets so frustrated when I can't understand her. With how much she paws and messes with stuff to get my attention, I bet redirecting her to using buttons would be an easy switch. The hardest part would be training ME to remember to use the buttons with her 😂
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks I speak cat. It's a difficult language, so those buttons are great. But that is what he's trying to say. Pretty sure, 99%.
Poor babies! I know how distressful it is for them. I have 6 furkids (4 cats and 2 dogs). We don't really go out when fireworks happen either on the 4th of July or on New Year's Day. Which is why I don't want them to be stressed out. My husband and I are trying to be good parents to our furbabies.
The accessibility of high quality of animal communication to the average pet owner has opened my eyes to just how much noise and scent pollution affects our pets. It’s no wonder urban vets deal with so many stress-related medical issues. Idk why I’m being so formal lol, I guess that’s why concern groups sound like this.

What blows me away is that he wants to tell you about his week, which is one way humans connect with each other 🤯
The full week recap is new. He has often told me things he is going to do like take a nap or single events that have happened in the past but never about 3 things that happened during the week.
@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks so amazing!
@@remlya I think you underestimate how smart cats can be.
Aww, thank you so much. I appreciate the kind words.
Oh, nice relation you picked up!
Absolutely, he’s quite anxious and wondering how better to express himself. Fireworks are terrible for birds and animals.❤
For people too!
See, there was this noise before, Dad...then Glamour had an ouch, but then she ended up happy.
He really is like a very young child telling you about his week!
He is, that little chat blew me away
Or a really wise old man trying to talk to a mentally challenged person. Cats think we’re stupid.
Amazing, thanks for posting.
I'm learning Spanish on my own, and I'm pretty sure when I try to make sentences I sound equal to Todd.
@@gailjordan9250 that is so real
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalksingenious ! How did he understand the concept "then?" ❤
Is it possible that he's telling you that the noise startled Glamour and that's how she hurt her back? What a clever boy he is, regardless.
It is possible
I was wondering that too!
Yes, I was wondering that, too! Either way, he's super smart. :)
Could be.
Great theory. Maybe she was spooked
I think he is bringing up memories...using the word "before" and "then" is incredible! Simply wonderful!
I agree
He is honestly brilliant. It just goes to show how our babies remember what happened in their lives day to day.
They do and Todd will talk about past things days after it happened
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks wow

I love how concerned he is for glamour. Such a sweetie
He adores her
I had a cat that loved music.
“Noise all done” , yeah.
Can we appreciate how much of a good cat dad this guy is? He’s awesome and the cats obviously love him a lot. Also Todd is absolutely brilliant
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words.
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks you already know how much these cats love you and we can tell. I literally ran to my parents to show them this video and how smart Todd is, and that can only happen in a nurturing and loving environment
Yes! He's an awesome cat dad! 💙🐾
It's interesting that Todd was having a casual conversation.
It is. He does this a lot but this is the first time there has been this much detail
Yeah, he does do this a lot, just for the sake of communication with his human. And some people still think the buttons are just a learned behavior for food rewards.
I love how Todd patiently waits for his human to get it. This has impressed me enough that I'm going to save up and get my kitties the buttons, too.

Not sure if I have the self discipline though lol my cats would probably fire me!
How much is it in total, you guys?
This is AMAZING, I've never seen anything like it!! My girl and I would be in constant contact and have many conversations, she knew so many phrases, even knew when I was spelling something. They are so smart!
@princessnemo8557 if you are asking about the cost, it varies depending on the type of buttons and how many you order.
What a great man who cares for his 3 beautiful fur babies and the way he talks with them it’s such a lovely sight
Thank you
WOW!! That was a cohesive 7 word sentence that definitely made sense in light of the week's events. Todd really is amazing!! 🥰
For anyone who thinks that the cats and dogs using these buttons are just pushing them randomly, why would Todd go around to the other end of the mat to ask for floor time?? If it's just random pushing, it would make sense for him to sit in one spot and just push the buttons in front of him, or walk on the buttons and just press them all. But he thinks very carefully before using a button, and he tries very hard not to step on buttons if he walks across them.
That was my very thought about people thinking cats using buttons is random. That's just nonsense!
Agreed and thank you
I feel like the only limitation in our communication with them after seeing Todd's interactions with Dad is our own inability to teach the concepts for the buttons. My poor boy Brutus spends ALL DAY yelling at me and I know that he needs the whole suite of buttons ASAP, because he wants to tell me something.
He's so smart to think what to say and walk over to the correct appropriate buttons to communicate 😊 ❤
It could just be that he remembers pushing some specific buttons result in him getting pets, but i believe cats can think better than that.
This kitty is more thoughtful about his words than any human I've met
Love that you resprct their boundaries by asking if pets are okay. Its something if always done with shy cats that want pets but dont necessarily ask for it. I offered my hand and only gave pets when they reached into it. After a while even the shy ones came up for hugs. Just because some pets are small and cute doesn't mean they dont deserve the same respect as a big animal.
"Everyone's together being nice" - words that have never been said together in a sentence in my house 😂
😂😂
Cats do groom each other as part of acceptance and bonding, so this is really very sweet to see!
😊
Todd is just such a thoughtful boy. I love how genuine he is about communicating.
Also lol, I respect Glamour's boundary keeping.
Thank you
No question, a recap of the week in exquisitely succinct form. The use of "then" to separate the elements makes it really clear he was telling the story. Not only can animals learn to talk in language we understand, but their individual personalities and souls are exhibited in the things they choose to talk about, point out, complain about, ask for, and in the way they put those communications together. Hey, just like humans!
I completely agree
Exactly what I wanted to tell. He is brilliant for sure!❤
It shows that they can tell a series of events in the correct order that they happened, as well. Before, this happened, then this, then this. It's something tested for in psychological testing in humans.
This is what I call a kitty recap
😊
Evening news with Todd.
Wow that is amazing how Glamour is showing Todd affection/Love after he helped her
I know 😊
It's heartwarming
I love this man. So close to all of his cats and caring for each and every one of them. Making sure that Paulie gets his treat was so cute.
It was amazing how clearly you can see Todd scanning the buttons and thinking!
I know, he means what he says even if we don't fully understand it.
He understands the concept of “then” as “next” ❤❤
Yes, I trained it more as "After"
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks smart Todd 🥰
Wow! Todd's communication skills just get more impressive. I liked how he waited to make sure you understood what he was talking about before he asked for Floor Time. And the video of Glamour washing Todd was so sweet. He looked so relaxed.
Like a dream come true- the washing vid.
Thank you
Of course Todd was talking about all the past happenings. I think he reflects on things and happenings a lot, and for a long time. ❤
Agreed
It's actually a 9 word sentence. Noise, NOISE, NOISE before! To emphasize how much noise it was and how loud it was (as he doesn't have a button for this). Not just any random noise, exceptional noise!
I wasn't counting duplicates. Lol
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks so - nine word sentence! :)
That was my interpretation as well! Noise-noise-noise, like "BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!" A perfect description of the sounds of the 4th of July fireworks.
That is a smart and talkative kitty! What a cutie!
Sweet fur babies ❤️🐾🥰
You have such a smart cat who clearly loves you and wants to communicate with you. 🐾🐾💙
Noted
Just because Tod's words for communication are limited, doesn't mean his understanding of English is.
@ss67camaronut they are not cheap but they last. You can start small and add as they they learn.
He may be communicating that Glamour's injury is related to being hurt from her reaction to the fireworks? Whatever he's saying, he's brilliant❤
Possibly. Thank you
Amazing. Simply amazing. Todd told you the sequence of the last several days. And the way he used the connector "Then" to sequence and connect the events chronologically. THAT'S really amazing.
It is and shocked me
There is a lot going on in that adorable little head of Todd’s. I do think he was mulling over the weeks events that had impacted him. It was nice to see all of your sweet fur babies together! What a blessing they are 😻😻😻
They truly are.
This still blows my mind that cats can form complex thoughts. And this doesn’t include dogs either. They are a whole other beast that can effectively communicate. We underestimate the intelligence of animals, and it makes me appreciate them more.
These buttons are making a lot of people reevaluate animals and their thoughts
One day we will enable all of our pets to talk to us. Todd had a stressful week and told you why he needed floor time. 😻

Agreed and thank you
I think he was recapping the week, too.
I agree with all the statements
I am in awe of how you love and respect your fur family. I so wish all animals could have this kind of love from humans.❤️❤️❤️

I am very much not a cat person. I don't have anything against cats, and if a dear friend needed me to take care of their cat because they couldn't any longer, I would truly love it and care for it until the end of its life.
I was shocked to see her grooming Todd. If she acknowledges him at all, it is usually with a thwack, so this was special.

Todd's version of chewing an eraser or twirling hair while thinking. Lol
They should work on rats. I saw a channel where either three hamsters or gerbils were using the buttons. I was truly amazed at that.
So sweet to hear a guy call his cat baby❤
First time watching a video from this channel. Seems to me like cats really do regulate emotions a bit similarly to humans, more than I would've known if I didn't see them communicate with these buttons. Talk to you about things that were impactful to them, then ask for physical touch. So fascinating. 😊
Welcome, I'm glad you are here!

I think Todd was actually asking Glamour to come upstairs for floor time. She heard him and came up. 😊❤
Todd thinks more than me before i speak.

She would rarely if ever let the youngster clean her ears etc, often hissing at him as if simply out of principle, but when the youngster was ill, she was nosebooping him etc. As soon as the youngster was healthy again, she would hiss at him again and not let him come near her.

The hardest part would be training ME to remember to use the buttons with her 😂
I think he's telling you that the noise caused Glamour to hurt her back, it probably frightened her.
Possibly

This is THE BEST VIDEO ever!!! Thanks for sharing. Your relationship is priceless!
He likes to review, and sometimes plan. He is deep.💕👏
Yes, he is. He's a very smart boy.
So cute how they all come to dad for treats. Dad is so nice.
Thank you
Sorry, I just missed the premiere 😏
Noise before, then ouch, then Glamour happy… clever Todd!!! He’s had an eventful week in kitty terms and now he wants floor time pets to unwind.
Glamour giving Todd a bath seems like real progress!
It was an amazing kitty sentence
It's so cute that Todd looks over Glamour and Paulie. He's so caring and responsible. I love your family time together and how patient they are taking turns. Asking for floor time is so adorable! 😍💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
That did seem like Todd rehashing the week's events. I see all 3 cats like that cat treat. And Glamour REALLY liked it, climbing up on you to get at it! LOL So sweet seeing Glamour grooming Todd at the end.
Thank you 😊
I absolutely love the care and attention you show your cats, and the respect you show for their space and intelligence. I work in cat rescue so I meet the cats who don't experience that loving kindness- people like you are so important to the world
I am amazed! Todd just gets smarter and smarter!
I know, it's scary at times how much he understands
I have watched this video several times. Each time I am amazed at Todd's abilities to talk to dad and tell dad about Todd's day. And about Glamour's back. ❤❤❤❤❤.
I wish I could find a gentleman who is not crazy but also was as enamored with cats and word buttons and animals and pets and the beauty of the little creatures as I am and as is the gentleman who has this channel
I wish you luck in your quest.
Your comment carried much care.
I hope you find what your seeking.
Todd understands time and events.
Todd got the chronology right !!
Some young children can't even get the chronology of events correct.
I remember in 1st and 2nd grade we had to read a small paragraph and then answer questions about the chronology of the events and a lot of us little kids had problems with that at 6 & 7 years old.
But not Todd !!❤
😊
That was so sweet of Glamour at the end. ❤️♥️🥰😘😻
It was, I wad shocked
😊 beautiful beautiful cats and show well cared for
See I can't imagine remembering where all the buttons are.
That Todd KNOWS where the buttons are and chooses them carefully... Is justttttt
MIND-BLOWING!!!!
❤❤❤🎉❤❤❤
He does know where most are. They all do have unique pictures I have put on them so he can find whet he's looking for. You will see him scan the board at times looking for the one he wants
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks where so I see the beginning of this process of teaching your cat? I’ve never heard of this and how it works…thnk u!
@hmh3808 cats cant understand english. Schizo.
It’s incredible that Todd knows how to use time in his sentences! I also love that you ask your cats if it’s okay for you to touch them instead of just petting them whenever ❤
I love cats ❤❤❤❤
First time watching your channel. Beautiful/Handsome cats. Thanks for sharing your videos. Sending prayers love and hugs.
Paulie is beautiful! All of your cats are so pretty ❤
Thank you
That's exactly what he's saying!❤😊
Notice how glamour is licking probably the exact spot where her back was hurting to indicate to him that she was thankful😊
I hadn't noticed that. That is a possibility.
Very adorable kitties! So smart too!❤😊
Awesome!!
What patience that kitty has, trying to get his human to understand his thoughts
Glamour LOVES that treat!!!😂😂😂😂
