Ive bee commenting on videos of Buckethead for as long as I can remember, but can still never get over what a truly special human being he is. For someone to be so passionate and dedicated the way he is is nothing short of beautiful. Buckethead has been offered countless large deals and could be one of the biggest rockstars ever. He could have sold out and stopped writing music, instead he writes beautiful works of art for years with little to no compensation. Buckethead's songwriting, versatility, stage presence, technical ability... it's all absolutely jawdropping and still inspires me to keep making music.. Please no one every forget buckethead
We are A Very Lucky Few that know what an amazing Human Being Buckethead is. I've been privileged to see Him play 3 times in 1999 with Primus, 2012 Solo and 2018 with Brain and Brewster.
A year ago, when I first started playing I felt the same. But with time and effort, each day wanting to improve I got better and better. Tracks like this aren't to hard to play anymore.
If any of you are wondering what that Japanese talking was about in the background near the beginning, it was from a movie called Shogun Assassin otherwise none as Lone Wolf and Cub. One of the best Samurai movies ever from Japan. Buckethead, you are awesome and an inspiration dude!
Listening to Buckethead regularly reminds me of one of lifes most valuable lessons, which is whatever you choose to do with life, do it with style and creativity. Not bad for a guy I never heard speak a single word!!
Amazing. He truly is a unique gift to us all. Love to hear what classical guitar greats would say about his work here. Love the bluegrass flourish at the end!
One day soon, Bucket will come on stage with a severed hand floating and still playing them masterpieces, and God will indeed finally be revealed to us ;p lol
i love that song he first plays. So much lovely dissonant chords....one really gets the mystical feeling from it that I can't really describe. Absolutely stellar performance.
This guy, by far is the best guitar player we have ever laid eyes on. A prodigy nothing less, nothing more. Unless I'm wrong....i don't think anyone comes closes to his God given talents. No not ONE.
Would love to see Buckethead and Tommy Emmanuel jam together. Normally quite different genres, but this would be common ground. Two of the greatest guitarists alive today.
I think you're right, at certain places i can see the brand name on the headstock. Thank you so much for telling me too, i absolutely love the sound and i want to look at these guitars
Does anyone else notice towards the end when he finger picks the high strings and uses the pick for the low strings at the same time that's sick as fuck that takes many years to master its guys like buckethead that make wana keep on playin so I can b that good someday
I really wish his songs were more known. If he was as commonly mentioned as Slash or Ozzy osbourne. I'm not saying those guys are the best, just about everyone would know of them. Buckethead couldn't change or let the fame go to his head, he hides so people would appreciate his music. He has soul and feeling in his music.
It’s called Acoustic Shards because of all the acoustics he broke that couldn’t handle being played like this. This is the only one that could handle it. That’s my head canon anyway and I’m sticking to it
Lush hat tip to RR there Mr. Buckethead sir. I'm going to listen/watch this once more then I'm off to Eric Johnsons' hat tip to SRV, then somewhere else, etc... But I will return to Bucketheadland again, Maximum utter big up huge super ultra collossal infinity mega respekta like. From Geordieland, South Shields, UK.
@premier210 if you have guitar pro then just search "what kind of nation" (this is the songs original name)....as for text versions of the tab i dont know if theres any out there
@coolguyruben07 There's a couple floating around out there, I found one on a random UA-cam video and learned the whole thing, I could probably tab it out.
It's unbelievable how he plays, he makes an acoustic guitar sound like a banjo, seriously, from another dimension. And the beautiful landscapes he paints with his playing. Allí of this wearing a mask and a KFC bucket, dude is laughing at rest of mere mortals.
@cashbagg Zero feeling? oh yeah right theres no face to identifiy emotion or feeling, because people like you need those things to realize that there's feeling in the notes. not your fault... you learned it like that , like most people, or youre simply a hater--- or you just think that his mask and stuff is ridiculous that would mean youre obsessed with appearances like most people who can't think for themselves.
@loljonasfail this comment made me smile a whole hell of a lot, I had never thought about it this way and it is a great perspective on why he wears the mask out of choice rather than being forced into it by his past
How the fuck does he remember all his songs? The guy releases like 50 albums a year.
He's a robot mann
It's called being an artist
He lives for this
He just improvise them and do not need them to remember them

After watching this, I donated my acoustic to charity.
Who knows, maybe the kid that picked up your donated acoustic is now becoming Buckethead 2.0
hahahahahahahaha oh man that had my laughing!!! hahaha

The Shade I know that I’m 2 years too late, but if you ever decide to donate another I’ll gladly accept (:
Hahahah. I will do the same.
Everyone else is wearing a mask, Buckethead is just being himself.
Accurate right now.
Yesss
lololol
HOLD UP
Im from the future where everyone has to wear masks
this song is actually called beyond the knowing its on his electric sea album
Jonathon Britt thanks
Thanks man really appreciate it.
Beyond the knowing, mixed with some other stuff including Diary of a Madman
:v
At this time it was called What kind of nation
If any of you are wondering what that Japanese talking was about in the background near the beginning, it was from a movie called Shogun Assassin otherwise none as Lone Wolf and Cub. One of the best Samurai movies ever from Japan. Buckethead, you are awesome and an inspiration dude!
Lmao thanks. I really thought they were talking about BH lol

God gave him grace indeed..
Listening to Buckethead regularly reminds me of one of lifes most valuable lessons, which is whatever you choose to do with life, do it with style and creativity. Not bad for a guy I never heard speak a single word!!
This is my favorite acoustic video
Sweet. He plays the intro to diary of a madman in this:)
Matt Mitschke if only he never rejected ozzy :(
@@chefbrando3734 if only ozzy never rejected him :(
@@xmazamx he was not going to undo his image and besides Buckethead does great on his own im sure.
Amazing. He truly is a unique gift to us all. Love to hear what classical guitar greats would say about his work here. Love the bluegrass flourish at the end!
you can hear the dynamic changes and the accents so easy in this. i love how he puts good use to them.
BEAUTIFULL!!!!
Happy birthday legend..no comments for your playing
Fantastic acoustic solo !
It's the most blossom 4 mins 30 seconds in my life :)
I will listen to this one forever.. 💕💕🐓🐔😊Joi Unangst Haynes
Simply the guitarist with acoustic guitar too BUCKETHEAD really the best
Bucketheads left hand :) also known as the itsy bitsy spider ;)
always reminds of a little spider crawlng above the fretboard
One day soon, Bucket will come on stage with a severed hand floating and still playing them masterpieces, and God will indeed finally be revealed to us ;p lol
And he will shoot little blood beams out of his vains like precision lasers granting everybody who believes enough 5 secs of his skills lol
And he'll cure mankind ;)
God I wish I had his skills on the guitar. Unparalleled and unprecedented. True story.
Por dios que gran artista ... lo conoci hace muy poco y me ha sorprendido tanto que creo que es el mejor artista de los ultimos 20 años ...
Goose bump inducing.
I like that country ass shit
It's a yamaha cpx 10 made in '98 or '99, Yamaha only made it for 2 or so years, I know because I'm lucky enough to own one.
Beautiful, Thank you.
i love that song he first plays. So much lovely dissonant chords....one really gets the mystical feeling from it that I can't really describe. Absolutely stellar performance.

He's the best, sorry, don't care what anyone says. He is extremely talented but worked extremely hard to be the best.
It's sad that many people continue not to focused to the message the artist or guitarist sending to the audience but who is the 'best "....
Would love to see Buckethead and Tommy Emmanuel jam together. Normally quite different genres, but this would be common ground. Two of the greatest guitarists alive today.
2:07 Is this the only video where buckethead plays wishing well live? I can’t find any more :(
What I don't understand is, how his facial expressions and feelings can be seen through the masks.
The poker face can hide many feelings behind it, once you hear the music; if it's emotional, the face will feel and look sad to you
body language
@terotele
Some people say: "Take off that stupid mask!"
Buckethead: "You first."
Funny how this comment applies today. 🤣
deep
очень хотелось бы знать, что у него в душе творится ????? Он великолепный мастер !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
@floppledong, its called Wishing Well, off of the Colma album.
So beautiful. So good. So lovable.🎵♥

Well you commented, didn't tell me but still XD thanks for putting it out there*
I've never seen anyone play the acoustic guitar the way Buckethead does..........
why is god playing the guitar?
It's actually a song called What kind of Nation which he released with Viggo Mortensen, Beyond the Knowing is just a second recording.
I am not usually a fan of buckethead to be honest but this is pretty awesome.
I LOVE that Yamaha CPX 15!
Does anyone else notice towards the end when he finger picks the high strings and uses the pick for the low strings at the same time that's sick as fuck that takes many years to master its guys like buckethead that make wana keep on playin so I can b that good someday
Yes, it's called chicken picking or hybrid picking.
@@holliswilliams8426 thanks for the reply
@@ws6ta01 He is well known for hybrid picking
God willing, I will become a good musician, I will achieve all my dreams and give the world to my father, my hero.

the song is called "what kind of nation" by buckethead and viggo mortensen

7 years later and now 0:32 is finally on CD
The song is called "What Kind of Nation" off the album Intelligence Failure. Sounds very different on album than live like many BH songs.

@111Buckethead Try listening to 'For mom' it sounds alike
3:36 whats that a minor chord riff thing from? is it in Hog bitch stomp or is it something he just came up with and not really set in a song.
+Captain Freeman it's a chord try sth around D2 G1 B2 E0
i jusst realize how long his fingers is :o OMG soo good
Any videos where he plays the banjo? He can definitely play banjo as well.
2:57 I heard some Diary of a Madman there =D Fucking awesome!

While it dont take a hell of a lot to impress me I admit,me but I really dug the breakdown and his right hand with that banjo 3 finger roll
3:36 onward is brilliant haha !
The greatest shame of all as seen here. Buckethead does not do enough of this. He said turn it around and do this times 1000.
what´s the first song called????
it´s a hell luva beauty
Nice Diary of a madman
I hope you never take this video down
