+Andrew Westhoff I actually think he's a better blues player in many ways, like some of his live versions of "Whitewash" are so smooth and amazing. He's a very talented guy for sure!
I don't know if you're aware, but there is a studio version of this song, called "separate sky" but the truth is I prefer the version in this live video 100 times over.
I genuinely like the fact that bucket videos 99% dont have negativity in the comments or many dislikes. For example this one,it has only 16 dislikes in what?11years?That says a lot about the artist and the community itself
My guess as to the people who dont like his videos is that they are impatient first timers. This is just one of hundreds of brilliant pieces by a master.
I was at this concert. That was a good show. A lot of times at Buckethead shows he will compile rhythms from multiple songs and just kind of improvise a song and solo
its 12:30 am, and after watching this all i wanna do is grab my guitar and just jam... I could have sat down and looked up any metal artist but Buckethead is always the most motivating for me
I like it when I see you in the comments new people and just discovered bucket how they go on about how great of a guitarist that he is and that they never have never seen anybody like him the truth is they won't
I can imagine how great it would be going to one of his shows and he hear him playing a bunch of music you don't know and be amazed by how great it all is.
he has long reached the point where every note he plays is as amazing as it possibly can be, and every melody he creates is absolutely unique and perfect. thats why when ever he picks up a guitar, the best possible thing that could be produced with said instrument always comes out no matter what he plays. thats why he has released so much awesome material and has so much more unreleased, anything he plays would've made any other musician a god. but he does it like its nothing, over and over.
The most creative guitarist I have ever heard. He had to of played at least 1000 licks in that solo and the way he brings it all together is mind blowing.
i've seen buckethead twice, listened to most all his recorded music, watched a TON of his vids on youtube, and this still is my favorite song/solo of his
Everyday I listen to this. It still makes me smile with joy. Interested at bobaroo there are like ten I've listened everyday for over a year. He's my favorite artist. All tine.
What a beautiful song...i love about big b so much material...havent heard this in 5 yrs or more...discovered him via youtube maybe years or more ago...by far favorite musician ever...listen to music everyday at least 4hrs i listen to tons of genres etc...but big b is major part of playlist...i still havent heard all his stuff...thats amazing!!!!...be thankful all the hard work hes put in and to actually listen and put in effort that pebber brown taught him among others im sure...his fretting hand to me really shows pebber...but i could be all wrong about that...
Buckethead IS huge to me and the rest of his fans. I highly recommend one of his live shows if you ever get the chance. He is one of the last true artists/musicians and bc of that I hope he never gets "huge" bc once an artist does they always lose sight of their roots and why they got into music in the first place.
The beat is triumphant but the chords and harmonies feel so empty and melancholic. It's such a confusing and powerful piece. Buckethead really can be one hell of a musician.
I wish Buckethead still played live shows with a drummer/bassist. For the past decade he has performed with a laptop playing the backing track and it just don't compare to his older shows like this.
Yes it would be a less interesting world without him and let's hope he's getter better day by day. I can also relate to BH's heart health concerns as I've recently had issues with an irregular heart rate and high blood pressure and I'm only one year older than Brian but, fortunately I've been able to keep it in check with some meds but of course my situation is not nearly as serious as his heart arrhythmia issues. On a kind of related note have you seen/listened to his recent interview/therapist's podcast, well in the interview he discusses his more recent heart problems and also the back issues that he had back in 2009 to which I had personally witnessed him falling off of the back of the stage at his KC, MO Crossroads show that same year, what had happened is that the venue's security guard was leading him from behind the stage with a flashlight and I guess it was so dark that BH didn't see the edge of the ramp that he was walking on and fell off about 4-5 feet up or so and I know that doesn't sound like a lot but, if you've ever unknowingly stepped off from the second to last step of a set of stairs thinking it was the last step then you know how jarring that can be on your back, now it didn't at the time seem to effect his show but I'm sure that it didn't help his back condition any and it could've even been one of the reasons that he ended up taking that long touring break right after that particular tour. Sorry this reply was so long but I kind of get a bit OCD when it comes to Buckethead ;)
k24skin I did listen to the Podcast, it was a great interview. I respect Brian even more after that. Thanks for the info on how BH hurt his back. I was wondering how he hurt his back 👽
l'll stand there for free... hell, l would even PAY for be there, just watching the greatest guitar god that ever existed jamming live. Man, l never thought l would live to see someone surpass Hendrix, Page and Beck... wowowowow.
I've seen him 9 times now and have seen him perform several unknown or unreleased songs but, this one is one of my favs and I would love to see him release a studio version of this but, I personally feel that his live performances of his songs always tend to offer up more emotion and spontaneity than any studio recorded version would but, if I could pick my dream Buckethead concert set list of any of his previous live performances out here on YT then here's My Dream Set List/Top 10: Opener would be "Help! The part starting at 0:46 sounds like a part in a song by the band Live, I think "Turn My Head" maybe? Everytime I hear that part I think of that Live song & Roy Orbison for some reason. Doesn't matter, this is killer, thanks!
Buckethead is huge, more people would have the pleasure of hearing his music if his music was radio friendly, i've yet to hear Buckethead on the radio. Call your favorite radio station and request a song of his and see if they play it. I think i will do that right now\,,/
He is not huge because there isn't any way for the media to directly interact with him. Also our society uplifts songs with lyrics over instrumentals. Unfortunate, as his songs show pure emotion in an amazing way.
Is that P-sticks in the back? Probably. It's just so hard to tell with the giraffe mask. Anyway, this song is fucking magic. It will be a glorious day if he ever releases it on an album. He has so many songs that he needs to record already! Haha. This man is just the best things that ever happened for me.
this song has stuck with me for 9 years.
still one of my absolute favourites.
Mark Hilton does it have a title?
Haylen Gerhard I have never been able to find it if there is one.
Feel like he's channeling Neil Young at the beginning.
Same here
His mixture of shred and blues is unparalleled.
Paul gilbert...
winrar Love Paul, but that's hardly correct.
+StopRunningKid true story right there not Paul's technique
+Andrew Westhoff I actually think he's a better blues player in many ways, like some of his live versions of "Whitewash" are so smooth and amazing. He's a very talented guy for sure!
paul doesnt have those same emotional solos imo. great player but a little robotic
Imagine if this song became a studio version and ended up as the last track of the pikes series, it would be a perfect ending
***** heh, as if the pikes will ever end!
Chalky Wilston
true, true
I don't mind the programmed drums, I listen to many genres of music, buckedhead is one of very few
MetroidChild there is never an end to a pike series unless you finish them all haha
I don't know if you're aware, but there is a studio version of this song, called "separate sky" but the truth is I prefer the version in this live video 100 times over.
personally i think the most amazing part is that there's some dude in the back who is desperately trying to stand still while enjoying the epicness...
I genuinely like the fact that bucket videos 99% dont have negativity in the comments or many dislikes. For example this one,it has only 16 dislikes in what?11years?That says a lot about the artist and the community itself
Isn't he just the greatest.
Dick Hurtz dreamy
Absolutely
The one and only !
No One x
My guess as to the people who dont like his videos is that they are impatient first timers. This is just one of hundreds of brilliant pieces by a master.
Man..this is great.i love is so much...
i love that he is not so much much popular. Only people with good music taste listen to this masterpieces and thats awesome
Actually, I wish he was more popular...maybe then I would have discovered him sooner.
Man it's been like 10 years since I seen this , still so sick.
I was at this concert. That was a good show. A lot of times at Buckethead shows he will compile rhythms from multiple songs and just kind of improvise a song and solo
its how great jokes come about as well
Omgosh just found this guy 6 months ago,.where have I been,?!He is by far the best guitarist ever ...
You'll never see anybody like him
This is my fav song of all time
its 12:30 am, and after watching this all i wanna do is grab my guitar and just jam... I could have sat down and looked up any metal artist but Buckethead is always the most motivating for me
I like it when I see you in the comments new people and just discovered bucket how they go on about how great of a guitarist that he is and that they never have never seen anybody like him the truth is they won't
I thought the guy in the back was Bucketheads spare body for a while there..
ahahahah
Batteries not included
Is that a real guy?? Is
he moving or not?? Lmao
OMG that guy behind is alive!! o.O
George C. Aguiar 😉😂😂😂
I was going to ask that! Lol
Pike #1 Its alive
That's one lucky fan!
WOW at 4:50 the dude in the back really gets into the groove..
never seen such beautiful headbanging before...
now thats how you enjoy an epic song
such a great song, hits you right in the feels
i've watched a ton of buckethead vids over the years. this is definitely one of his best solo's. awesome vid
this man only plays gold, the best music of the day,and yet most would rather listen to crap.
True. :/
I was at this show!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
So was I
Listened to it more than 100 times but its still orgasmic to me! Just plain fantastic!
And then...I discovered Buckethead's music and my life became so much happier/less stressful :)
This song reminds me of "Separate Sky" from his album "A Diamond In The Rough"
It does sound similair at the start
I can imagine how great it would be going to one of his shows and he hear him playing a bunch of music you don't know and be amazed by how great it all is.
there should be a PRAXIS or DELI CREEPS 2014 tour, i hope buckethead or his friends ever see this!
he has long reached the point where every note he plays is as amazing as it possibly can be, and every melody he creates is absolutely unique and perfect. thats why when ever he picks up a guitar, the best possible thing that could be produced with said instrument always comes out no matter what he plays. thats why he has released so much awesome material and has so much more unreleased, anything he plays would've made any other musician a god. but he does it like its nothing, over and over.
Just discovered this in 2023. Amazing piece.
Once he takes off on the solo at the 2:00 marker the song goes from great to Godly. Easily one of my favorite solo's I've heard by the robot.
you will realize your idol is so much talented and so dedicated when he put out a unknow song with all his emotions on it.
brings smile to my face scrolling down and seeing all these accounts with Big B as their profile pic.
Hes feeling it big time. So am I. My favorite artist. By far. Just stunning.
If he just puts together his unknown songs
he can make an album that way.
and it would be epic
Well, he does. He’s got like 100 something or more albums. Maybe if someone shows him this video, if it’s not already in there, I’m sure he’d add it.
@@jonharvey6547 its actually an early version of Separate Sky from what I can tell, nevertheless its great!
@@jonharvey6547*557 albums
The most creative guitarist I have ever heard. He had to of played at least 1000 licks in that solo and the way he brings it all together is mind blowing.
people say bucket has no emotion, cuz theyre too busy trying to catch the skin melting off their faces, to feel it.
It's funny because like 80% of his songs are emotional. Only people just scratching the surface think he's all face melting shredding :P
I love Buckethead and I don't even like metal; usually 1930s jazz :)
you get it.
@@TheElektrikRain yes he gets it 😏
Even his shredding is full of emotion
all these years and still no name for this song?? Glad I stumbled back onto it, so beautiful. Man has too much material.
i've seen buckethead twice, listened to most all his recorded music, watched a TON of his vids on youtube, and this still is my favorite song/solo of his
Love flows from this artist ...it's constant ...a movement of spirit..this pleases us , does it not ?
Separate sky, from ‘a real diamond in the rough’ . Just a lot of improv, which is what his live performances are known for. All hail the Bucket!!!
I always watch this and howling tunnel on a daily basis..Buckethead is truly once in a lifetime..
Everyday I listen to this. It still makes me smile with joy. Interested at bobaroo there are like ten I've listened everyday for over a year. He's my favorite artist. All tine.
I meant interworld at bonatoo.
Howling tunnel?
Grail. Big b gotta drop this one
I sed millon times, but , for me is like my 20 favorite guitars players in only one person!
Just a throwaway song for BH, Wolfmonkeymother would hang their entire career on this gem.
This is beautiful, just what I needed
My favorite song of his. Absolutely amazing
those riffs they sound so familiar AAHHH its killing me!!!
this is SO GOOD!!!
KLASSE ,Mann oder Frau was man auch sehen möchte Spitzen Gitarist wie auch immer..gr.

I love his singing best!
this song i'm listened in high school years and great great brilliant...
I Like This song
I'm so glad he's embraced the blues and incorporated it into his arsenal
Do some research
Buckethead IS huge to me and the rest of his fans. I highly recommend one of his live shows if you ever get the chance. The beat is triumphant but the chords and harmonies feel so empty and melancholic. It's such a confusing and powerful piece. Buckethead really can be one hell of a musician.
Buckethead thanks for the trip man i got lost for a while there.
the music is just amazing !!!! buckethead rocks
I wish Buckethead still played live shows with a drummer/bassist. For the past decade he has performed with a laptop playing the backing track and it just don't compare to his older shows like this.
Still here. Thanks Bucket
How does he remember all these great intricate pieces that he makes? 🤔
I don't know how he does it but I'm just glad he's still keeps rocking them out year after year \m/,`o`,\m/
k24skin With his current heart condition, we have to send positive vibes his way! A world without Buckethead will be less interesting 😔
Yes it would be a less interesting world without him and let's hope he's getter better day by day. Easily one of my favorite Bucket songs. I really hope he does a studio version some time.
Best song ever!
Is this song still nameless? I pray it's on spotify.. Either way! I must say its absolutely amazing!
when he goes into the solo its like i blast off and am flying around in bucketheads mind.

The song has a little Rush flaver ,NICE

Dont know what song of his this is but he is definatly with brain on this. He opens up hard with live drums.
talent does not usually equal popularity when it comes to the entertainment industry......sad but true
This actually sounds like a really early version of Separate Sky from A Real Diamond in the Rough.
Actually..there is a name for this song..but its epicness makes ppl forget its name permanently
