First of all, nice video. I hope u guys enjoy my dear state of Bahia. 2° There are a lot of nice comments here. Although, there also some comments that are pure prejudice and xenophobia about my people, about us, Bahians. I'm tired of *Brazilians* from other states coming here to Bahia to enjoy and having the audacity to start making jokes, stupid comments and criticizing the real people of Bahia. They say that we are lazy. But we wake up at 5, sometimes 4 pm to work. Some us only coming back at 6, sometimes 10pm, which is the case of some self-employed workers. At the Carnival, while these guys (from other states) enjoy the party, most Bahians work, or worked a lot so that party could happen.
Hello Steve and Ivana, now you already have visited enough places in Brasil to understand that São Paulo is different of Rio de Janeiro which is different of Minas Gerais which is different of Bahia etc. You can now understand that all states have positive and negative things and There's no state better than any other, all states are different, but somehow evenly weirdly balanced in positive and negative aspects, those who prefer one particular state are just expressing personal choice. Brasil is very f*cking big.
I've worked and dealt with Romanians in Vancouver. They are the nicest people I've ever had the experience to deal with while living in Canada. They are sorta Brazilians who speak a different language. I love this people.
I feel the Romanian language is closer to Latin than the others romance languages, so cool! Unfortunately, I can understand anything in Romanian language and Latin language like I can in Spanish, Itelian, Catalan, French etc.

It's one of the most beautiful place I've been in the world, not only in Brazil, if not the most beautiful place. I'm kinda jealous of you actually, I'd love to be in Itacaré now hahaha Hope you enjoy your stay, please go to all the beaches, each one has its particularities, and they are all amazing. Also, if you have ever thought about learning to surf, this is the place and the moment, I'd recommend you guys to give it a try. When Ivana said that you were in the land of cocoa, she is right, this part of Brazil is known as Costa do Cacau, the Cocoa Coast, it's where Brazil produces great part of its cocoa, for ourselves and for exportation too. I'm looking foward to watching your next videos. Peace out, guys. 😄

That tapioca is made with cassava starch, the pão de quijo feeling is because it is also made with cassava starch. There is two kinds of cassava starch, sweet and sour, the sour starch is fermented, pão de queijo is made with both plus cheese and eggs mostly.
Tapioca is cassava flour, yes! You sieve It over a pan and heat It, and the flour particles magically stick to each other when It warms up turning into a crispy crepe, no oil at ALL! It's one of my favorite breakfast foods. Gluten free, low calories and goes well with any filling. I lost a Lot of weight a during lockdown by doing light exercise and eating chicken tapioca w/ juice instead of bread/cookies for breakfast. 💪☺️
Pra quem estava habituado com atendimento rápido de São Paulo, vai ser um choque muito grande aí na Bahia. É o atendimento mais lento do Brasil. É insuportável! Horrível! Parece que tudo no mundo evolui, menos o atendimento do baiano.
I'm surprised it took this long for you to taste tapioca like that. It's so common that's what first comes to my mind when I hear about tapioca. Somehow, I just assumed you had it off camera sometime before. Glad you liked it! When you have the chance, try one with "carne seca" (dried meat), a Northeastern classic. Oh, and the sweet variants are great too!

tapioca is made from the gum extracted from the macaxeira, it is a food of indigenous origin and widely adhered to in the northeastern and northern states
Fine powdered tapioca is actually hydrated cassava/manioc starch! - there is another more grainy tapioca that hydrates a lot and makes small globules chewy like desserts!
