I am very glad this romanian family gave you this presentation of a traditional romanian cuisine. Multumim familiei care au muncit pentru ca acest clip sa fie realizat, cred ca au promovat Romania mai mult decat orice alt oficial.
OMG guys!! I´m so happy you lived this special experience!! From all your videos I realized you really love Romania, but in this one, you went through the essence of how we live in our country. I guess everybody loves to travel, to see all kind of restaurants and hotels, places and monuments, but there you'll never find the authenticity of a country if you do what most people do. Again, I enjoy seeing your journey as you do in the field! Thanks for sharing your adventure along this beautiful country. Keep up the good work and remember: you are AWESOME!!!
Most of us that group up in a house not an apartment we have everything that you see in the video, we keep it for the winter, also we cut a pig for 200 kg and prepare it for winter. By us before it was very difficult and we had to make everything ourselves because we didn’t had money to buy. Now my family is keeping this tradition too because of the health and good taste that real food has.
well you can come and have that experience here, we even have agro-touristic accommodation, scattered all over the country. it is truly a great experience!
Without trying to take away any of Ana's grandparents' credits, please know that most of our grandparents have that sense of hospitality, especially those who grew on the country side.
well Steve, if nobody has gotten around to explain/translate the chicken noises in Romanian, here goes nothing: baby chick goes " piu piu", chicken/hen goes "cotcodac" and the rooster says "Cucurigu".
What a lovely warm hospitable family and a beautiful and clean self sufficient farm. Shout out to Anna so charming. Lovable grandma. This is a premium Vlogg Jetlagg Warriors!!!
Romanian hospitality at it`s best! Ana and her family truly enjoyed having you as guests and gave you a VIP treatment. Home made wine, all fresh organic products from the farm no wonder ppl live to 84 yrs old in good condition.
Your joy is so contagious! I had a smile on my face the entire video! I didn’t know to appreciate these things when I was young. I had to live abroad to understand. Now I can’t wait to come back! Thank you for these videos. Cheers from Canada!
Guys, don't confuse palinca with tuica because palinca has 51% alcohol meanwhile tuica can have 30% or 40%, so it's not the same. What an amazing and lovely family to welcome you. 🥰
Omg ..u really taking me back to my childhood ...haven't been in Romania for over 25 years !! I'll enjoy watching this becuz of u guys and thank you for this!! Really enjoy my country ...from Niagara falls ,succes
Last time in my lovely country 5 years ago... I will come back HOME next year even if I would have to swim the whole Atlantic Ocean or to bike the whole of Russia. From Canada, QC, Montreal.
I'm sooo happy you finally got to the essence of Romanian country side :D. Most of the people your age grew up near such a farm, either of their parents or of their grand parents. A few explinations: The cow poop is stashed so it is used in the spring as a soil fertiliser. The best 100% natural fertiliser ever. Besides using cow poop, farmers ratate the cultivated vegetable each a couple of years, because each uses different nutrients from the soil. So first years you have potatoes on a side, next years you switch them with the tomatoes etc. The corn piles ar put like this so those don't mold from the rain & humidity. Usually when it starts raining they put a plastic wrap on top. Sometimes, in the middle of the pile there are stored pumpkins during the winter, usually the ones for the pigs. Because of the pile of corn stalks, the temperature is constant and above freezing point. Romanians take a lot of pride regarding their foods, to the extent that people literally have arguments about which version of sarmale or varză is the best. I am in team Moldova in this fights, the Moldavian area have the best sarmale, cozonaci and the best anything food related :)))
This is the traditional romanian countryside. I love the way grandma offered yourself opportunities to try everything. Amazing job. Felicitari pentru initiativa!
Love love love this.A living and working farm.Amazing! You guys are so lucky to have bumped into Ana and got invited to their place.A big shout out to her grandma and all grandmas of the world. They are the best. Btw Malaysian chickens go kruk kuk kuk kuk 😆
My 95 years old grandma use to say, before she became senile: the secret to a long life is work, work, work, less food and a lot of răchie (tzuica). I now think that what she ment is that alcohool release stress, so it helps. God save grandmas 🤣🤣🤣
Like them are most of Romanians! So beautiful garden and ,, beciul and camara" full of amazing food and bio products. Hard work and heart put in everything. My parents are the same like them. Hard working and humble people and full of life. Ana and her family are so beautiful! Bravo Ana pentru ceea ce esti si pentru ce familie ai.💙💛❤
You two look so comfortable, and very happy,,I think Romania vibes suite you ,Our grandparents whom leave in the villages are all like this,,happy , healthy and good hearted people,,,Great video also this time,,see you in the next one 🌹
Thank you, Ana, Grandma Niculina and the rest of your family for the wonderful way you welcomed them and made them feel good. What these two people are doing for Romania, no minister of tourism that the country had after '89, (after the revolution), or those in the media, in any corner of the world, have done. THANK YOU to the wonderful Ivanna and Steve for the superb way you promote Romania's image wherever your UA-cam channel is accessed! Keep it up, you are both wonderful ! ✌️👏👏👏...!
Happy you did this, eventually. The hay or the cobs are staked to dry out and not get mold. Leaving with provisions as gifts at the end is something traditional in Romania. The best thing is that what you saw at Anna's you can see, more or less, in any Romanian household from the country side. Our land is still fertile and also we still have very big rural communities so we are tied to traditions.
Wish Ana and her husband a wonderful Married life! Thanks a lot for showing us the farm with such enthusiasm. Ana is the subscriber we saw in the previous video.
The "oltenian onion" is leek, in case you're wondering. It's a staple in Oltenia. And the cow dung pile is there for using as fertilizer, in the garden, and the plants will grow bigger and the cycle goes on. Anything that can be used, will be used, on a farm.
Guys!!! this is so awesome! it brought back memories of my childhood, my grandma had lots of grapes she was making wine, "visinata" , tuica, she had lots of fruit trees, animals, she was making her own cheese, bread, gems everything was fresh. We didn't even know what fast food is, because there was none 😁. My grandma is going to be 90 years old this year. In Romania you know every neighbor, here in Canada I know only maybe 2 , and I don't really see them.
Guys you know what....? I'am gonna make you a suggestion...why dont you move with the entire family to Romania? Țuica bună, vinul bun, mâncarea bună let's go 👍😉👍
Happy for you that you could live the local hospitality! Congratulations to both Ana and her whole family, too. Originally, I'm from Craiova but leaving in UK, where I miss so much the warming Romanian hospitality 😊. I hope you'll have many other beautiful experiences in Romania!
Love again on your return how you just dive into the essence of Romania, but this episode was cool. People may come here for the castles etc, but for me having lived here for 6 years now and calling it home, the real beauty is the Romanian family and the hospitality and at the centre of all families a good strong Grandma🙂👍💪. Bottling things for winter, cooking the vegetables, pickling and having a good drink while doing it, is all part of it, we get that done in my partners family every year. You are spot on, you must visit at Christmas, just a special time of year, the food and also it is very traditional religiously. Awesome guys, multa sanatate!
Hello JL Warriors! As a Transylvanian student in Timisoara I had many friends from the Oltenia (Craiova) region. The Transylvanian palinca was better than their tzuica imho, however the oltenian zaibar (red wine) was my favorite. Fast forward, I am now your neighbor living in the 905 area and miss all the things you get to enjoy now in my native RO. So happy to watch all the places you are taking us these last few weeks.
Thank you Steve and Yvona, amazing vlogg and I'm pretty sure you got the fantastic vibe of how we enjoy life in România, the REAL LIFE I mean, through this video ,which, trust me,I had to pause a few times remind me of my childhood, seeing grandma, grandpa (unfortunately my grandpa died 12 years ago, still having my grandmother 86 years of age)I couldn't stop not having tears in my eyes, wonderful experience, really, if I might say one more thing is that if you 2 spend 2 years in Romania I bet you could learn very well our language, God bless you two!👍❤️🇷🇴🇨🇦

Her grandma is so cute! Her voice is cute. Stock up wt food in the basement. No worries. Homemade stuff! Even cheese...is it blue cheese?
