Hey guys, I CAN CONFIRM the cage fits the dimensions of the ZV-E1 pretty well! I just made some cut moderations to the Cineback and moved the screws a little in a few different locations to adjust to center the camera, and its perfect!
@@SimplestUsername i have solved overheating with my Zv e1 by just opening all the lids including the battery one. Tested it in my 24 degree celcius room without any wind. 4k 25fps and it Kept going till sd card went full, which was over 2 hours with it being decently warm
Love this idea of being able to turn a mirrorless camera into a box style camera. Would love to see this applied for the Lumix S5ii and/or other cameras
This is something I would like to build for my FX30. I'm constantly concerned about the flex in the audio handle but also don't want to lost its capability. I'd like the FX30 rig to be able to mount a wrap around top handle like you see on Arri Alexa cameras or even the long Wooden Camera top mount handle.
The closest I could think of was getting the k3m adapter or turn the handle into that, and get a full cage with the smallrig "helmet" handle. The problem is the awkward shape of the k3m.
I'm SUPER interested to see this concept for the Fuji XH2S! I'd buy it in a second! Overall, I've been loving all of the camera foundry work you've been up to and can't wait to see what you have coming up!
I attempted to make one for my Fuji with the big top and side cheese-plates. I failed. The only thing keeping me from continuing with Fuji is the bad ergonomics. I know I'm not alone in saying I would buy this in HEARTBEAT if it was made for xt3 or xh2s. #fingerscrossed 😁
Caleb, once again... you have shown why you're the master!!! Great build! Great idea! After watching this, I went straight to Amazon to order the plates and have already done something similar for my Sigma fp, and it is a magnificent rig. You really can't believe just how professional the end result is until you see it. Thank you, sir!!!
Looks very nice and tidy. You might wanna look for heat threaded inserts that you can melt into the 3d print. This could improve durability on those threads over time especially when reassembling the rig a couple times.
Great build! I’ve been toying with making something like this for my Lumix cams. A Kit like this for the S5ii would be killer! Wouldn’t even need the fan inside, but would be great for like a micro hdmi/sdi converter or timecode box inside instead.
Something like this for the a7SIII would be clutch. I’ve already rigged out my build to resemble a box camera the best that I can, but that too and side plate idea is brilliant.
Man, you're on a roll with these cool printed things... totally unique idea for the new A7CII. I just put together my rigs for the FX3 and A7IV. I'd love to see the most compact builds you'd make for those.
This is an excellent solution. Whilst I fully understand the capabilities and excellence of mirrorless cameras, I do not like the form factor and much prefer a video/cinema camera style body. Sony, having finally implemented the articulating flip-out screen (a few models back), have allowed for this kind of build and flexibility. The next technological step-forward is for mirrorless cameras to have ND filters built-in, although I suspect that this is still quite a way off in the future. Another advantage of this build is that it meets certain customers' expectations of a professional turning up with a 'proper camera'. I have been on many shoots where I have my FS7 and a colleague with the latest A7s and the customer thinking that the FS7 is superior, just because of size. In some ways, it is and in many ways it isn't but the customer doesn't want to hear a long explanation on this. I also suspect that this build also helps with stabilising the camera when using handheld and that is a feature that helps with picture quality!
That is cool how your setup has the same form factor as a full cinema camera. You are having way too much fun with the 3D printing, it is great to build your own designs.
love it. would be great to have that for the FX3 & fx30. i guess this would work then even without the fan. can you already tell when the print for the other sony cameras are coming out?
I dont even have an A7C II but ive rewatched this video so many times because it looks so cool 😭 i hope someone makes a video for the A7IV some time soon.
I cant even think of a bad video you've release Caleb, they always go up in value, really amazing work, you are my inspiration so thank you for the work you make ! (I've been a fan and follower for over 9 years already, crazy...) that said, we need something similar with the FX30 to make it an FX36 🤣 lol sorry, I saw on Camerafoundry that it's coming soon so I'll be waiting !
It's just so goddamn inspirational! I'd love to see this same type of setup applied to other cameras (models AND manufacturers), such as the Lumix S5 for example. Cheers!
That rig looks fantastic. I may be picking up the A7Cii. In the meantime, I am looking for a rig for my FX30. So, I've bookmarked your link to Camera Foundry for when they release their rig for the FX30.
Always love these types of rig setups. One thing I've always wanted to know is how much an exterior fan like that actually helps with cooling given it doesn't actually have direct air access to any of the hot components. Is blowing air on the exterior enough to make a big difference? Would be great to see a bit of testing in a hot environment in future ones like this.
I’d be curious to see a build around the BS1H it has a lot of really nice professional outputs and features the main thing to work around imo is the ergonomics, since it’s such a small camera
The CineBack is available now and more models on the way! camerafoundry.com/pages/cineback
Video guide for FX3/FX30 Please!
Can't wait, this is groundbreaking, thank you for creating this, glad i haven't bought a cage, I have a A7IV, please keeps us updated
Can this become available for the Fujifilm XH2s? I would pay SO MUCH
would like to see Sony 7s III version really soon :)
ZV-E1 please! Ill order in a heartbeat
I'm always blown away by Caleb's ability to come up with interesting setups such as this one. Love these videos!
We need a similar build for FX3/FX30 with XLR inputs AND a stronger Handle. I really dig the screen solution
yes please!!!
And for Sony ZV-E10 🙃
Agreed. Owning the FX30, I could definitely see a similar setup working great.
300%!!!!
this right here. I want it too hahah @@thinkoholic9441
Make something like this for sony fx3!
Please do🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Would love to see
I agree!
The ZVE1 would be an even better candidate, as it has the same image as the FX3 but a lesser heat management and no mounting points.
XH2 also
Hey guys, I CAN CONFIRM the cage fits the dimensions of the ZV-E1 pretty well! I just made some cut moderations to the Cineback and moved the screws a little in a few different locations to adjust to center the camera, and its perfect!
With the smallrig cage?
Which smallrig cage did u go with?
Have you tested overheating? If this build solves overhearing on the EV-Z1 it will be God tier.

This is brilliant! Anxiously awaiting the parts for the FX30
all I've ever wanted is that exact thing for the FX3. Game changer man, truly. Thanks for the video!
This is one of the coolest and most masterful cinema gear videos I have ever seen.
Can't wait to see the FX3 version of this clever set-up. Great job!
Oh, if the fx30 got this treatment!❤
I can't believe you did a cine rig of A7C II, that's incredible 😂
you should build something like this for the fx3 / fx30. that side plate is awesome.
yes yes yes! I love the xlr handle but i wish theres a boxy design where the xlr inputs can be hidden
@@gwm-btdbattlesagar.ioandmo9988 …..you want to hide the xlr inputs?
Oh you mean put them in the metal block! Me too. I know the xlr-h1 is super flimsy, especially once you’ve attached a monitor to it.
@@colemowery exactly!

Take my money for a XH2s Kit!
Neeeeeed!!!
Yeah I'm in too! Sign me up!

Your kits are becomming more and more impressive!
I second the notion for this build for the Fuji XH2s. Would also be obviously applicable to the Lumix S5ii and I know your soft spot for a Panasonic.
Looks very nice and tidy. You might wanna look for heat threaded inserts that you can melt into the 3d print. This could improve durability on those threads over time especially when reassembling the rig a couple times.
You're such a nerd, Caleb.
I love it. Please do one with the FX3
Great build! I’ve been toying with making something like this for my Lumix cams. A Kit like this for the S5ii would be killer! Wouldn’t even need the fan inside, but would be great for like a micro hdmi/sdi converter or timecode box inside instead.
Second for a Panny S52/x rig
Something like this for the a7SIII would be clutch. I’ve already rigged out my build to resemble a box camera the best that I can, but that too and side plate idea is brilliant.
this is exactly what i wanted for the fx30, please make one that works along side the top handle
Caleb is still the GOAT when it comes to these innovative builds + practical information for us shooters.
I hope the fx30 is the next camera 😢 please man I love your creativity and innovation
greatest video rig setup i have seen, great work and thank you for sharing ! 😉
This looks amazing!!

If you don’t come up with a build for the a7iv we going to hunt you down Caleb!😂 THIS IS INCREDIBLE!
Dude.. Loving it.. Love the camrea foundry too! Makes me want to make soemthing simular for my FX3 and FX3. love the box body ballaned by the battery.
Proves the point that camera rigs are just adult legos!
Looking forward to the FX3 version!
Can't wait til you launch this for the FX3=
This is by far the best youtube channel I watch. Thanks for creating such awesome content!

I would love to see this setup for the Sony FX3, also some lenses recommendations.
Loving the new background elements
Amazing! Would love a kit for the FX30 🙏🏼
Such a cool concept! Would love to see this done with Canon cameras like the R6 MkII
Do this with a FX3, add an SDI Converter and ND Filters and you got a FX6
You'r effort in b roll is legend
The underground light thru the mesh is next level
I would love to see an fx30 version of this build.
Definitely do something like this for the fx30/fx3
This is very very very clever, congrats! Any update on the Sony a7siii kit?
👏👏👏 Love your channel and how you always come up with something quite different from all the other channels who review the same gear as you.
Another solid setup man! 🔥 Please do a similar setup for FX3/FX30 🙇🏻♂️

I have one word: FREAKEN'AMAZINGKILLERSENSATIONAL!!!
Caleb happens to be an engineer who is passionate about camera gear... just amazing!
Love this man. Well done. Look forward to the CineBack for A7siii to be released.
Awesome stuff! A zv e1 rig video would be awesome, especially if it can reduce the overhearing.
Now I kind of have to buy a ZV-E1 and do that.
This is the build I noticed in your Rode wireless pro video! My favourite build of yours ever!
Caleb is DSLR "LEGO" badaxx, and I love it!
thats exactly what i've been asking the previous video ... could you make one for the fx3 ??
its amazing.
dude, this is probably the best compact rig i've ever seen. and i've seen over 5,000 rigs ...
That rig is fantastic, Caleb! I love it!
All of the awesome 3D printed accessories are always awesome and so well designed / thought through!
Those Nisi Athena's are sick.

I dont even have an A7C II but ive rewatched this video so many times because it looks so cool 😭 i hope someone makes a video for the A7IV some time soon.
Dude, you are crushing these. Holy cow.
Any update about the new Smallrig Cage? This looks awesome, I can't wait to try it out!
dude I love your cinema builds so much
Was absolutely eyeing this off in your Rode Wireless Pro video. So keen for the A7S III version. Looks amazing!
That was an insane build and I would love to do the same for my Sony a7siii. Would love to see that as a build.
The HDMI port is a deal breaker

The A7CII may not be able to replace an FX6, but an FX3 built like this could replace one all day
This is amazing Caleb! Really incredible. Would pay to get this kind of size and weight on the fx3/a7siii!
This channel is ridiculously great! Thanks for all of it!
This is amazing. I swear I dreamt of something like this before and you made it real. Thank you.
At 5:40, it feels like adult legos and I LOVE IT!

I just receiced my a7cii and i've been wanting to do something like this for ages, soooo, i guess i will do it now😳 thanks for the video, 10/10
This is an absolutely amazing idea! First look at the thumbnail made me think it's a RED. You're a very skilled guy, Caleb. 👌
This is excellent! Brilliant idea Caleb. Would love to see one for the A7S III / A74 as well as FX3. Maybe ZVE-10?
I would love to buy something like this for the fx30, with xlr closer to the body etc.
feels amazing seeing this setup
Man always love watching your rig builds. Gives me so many ideas for my own camera rigs 🔥
Like for the cineback for a LUMIX S5II / X
this with FX3 gonna be so sickkkk
