I swear bear and son is getting better and better lol they have nodels coming out now for 50 to 80 dollars with great quality. Even one with a Damascus blade for 80! I'm upset that peoppe still can't get over the bad rep they had 4 years ago. They are so so much better now. It's like companies can never live down things it's all a learning curve they are great knives now. Sometimes peoppe just need to not listen to the community and try blades they like regardless of the brand. You may be surprised, of course I mean within reason of price lol.
Its because they aren't built for flipping. Competitive flippers use aluminum or titanium. Bear and son always use stainless steel or zinc handles, which make them very heavy and very handle biased
I have a B-800 ss that has always had tap, but it flips nice and I like it for edc. But if it was made in China I wouldn't have paid the 120$ for it. I bought it because it was made in the US and I wanted a good beater bali which it is.

idk what their bad rap was but I have an old one, the tip came pretty blunt and it's entirely pinned.
Still works fine though
