This honestly has potential to be the premier lifting/fitness podcast, having sticky rick be co host and both of you being extremely experienced lifters and online personalities. You could have on other personalities like Will Tennyson and Dr Mike and Sam Sulek, shit even the bodybuilding and power lifter pros, just everyone in the sphere to come on and talk shit and hang out. This could seriously go bananas if you play it right, hope Juji or Ricky see this too🙏🙏🔥🔥
People usually pull their biceps off the ground, and usually submaximal weights pulled fast. What happens is the arm can slightly bend from the whip, putting the biceps in a vulnerable position. So I think bands would be a good catalyst for a mixed grip injury
Anything with Eric is 99th percentile content. Really enjoying the podcast though, It may just be the friendship between you two but this was my favorite fitness podcast I have heard in a long time.
26:56 PLEASE don't use nasal spray every day, you will become dependant on it and your nostrils will become chronically inflamed which will make you need it more throughout the day. I initially started using it to get better sleep, but got hooked on it for over a year and I'm still trying to completely get rid of it, I sometimes use it after an evening of smoking a lot or if I actually catch a cold. The best alternative I've found so far is a saline spray for when you need to blow your nose throughout the day and colloid silver spray before bed, which is antibacterial and basically has no downsides, and it will do a surprisingly good job with decongesting.
Pro Tip: As someone who always had dry / stuffed nasal passages all my life, with a deviated septum, and was a chronic mouth breather, with constant bloody noses, I used to use nasal sprays like Flonase all the time, thinking it would help "clear" my nasal passages. I also used saline spray, but wrongly - as I would just use it all day long trying to help moisten my nose, which only made it more stuffed. After all of that trial and error, now I simply use saline spray (you can get the 3oz bottles from Amazon Basics - same ingredients as Ocean or other brands), but in a specific way. I tip my head back, give a steady stream of the saline in each nostril, let in run down the back of my sinuses for a few seconds, then tip my head back down and rub my nose, moistening all areas of the nasal passages. After about 30 seconds, I blow my nose and clear my nasal passages as completely as possible. My nose stays hydrated, and my nasal passages stay clear. I do this as needed, usually once in the morning, mid-day, and night. Started mewing, and focusing on nasal breathing as well. I now no longer mouth breathe, and have clear sinuses all day long, and much less bloody noses. My sleep is better, and my mouth is less dry as well. Been doing this for a few years now, wishing I would have made this change sooner. Hope this helps.
Yes, that first cup of coffee first thing in the morning is a placebo effect. Depending on your metabolism it takes about 30 minutes for the caffeine to kick in but your organs are still dehydrated which is why you should start your day with one or two cups of water and then have some caffeine.
Apparently there is no actual evidence of this and it is only a proposed and hypothesized mechanism. So probably just best to follow ones own preferences.
@@juhopitkaranta6883 yeah just like everything else when it comes to biology is some sort of hypothesis because you can't single out one variable and call it fact, everything is generally a theory because you have multiple factors working at the same time, like your body metabolizing the caffeine, it doesn't happen instantly so yes when people take a sip and think everything immediately changed, like hormone signals, that's called a placebo effect. The timing of when it actually kicks in is not settled science but yes it is a placebo effect because of things called a metabolism and glands
@@juhopitkaranta6883 just like everything in biology, it's all hypotheses because you can't single out one variable and call it settled science. Regardless, because your metabolism exists as do your glands, that first sip doesn't change anything in your body, but if it changes your mood that is called a placebo effect. Your body doesn't instantly metabolized the caffeine and then send extra signals from the glands to produce hormones to give you that extra boost of energy. Whether it's 30 minutes or not, it doesn't matter, it is still true because of your metabolism and your glands. Besides, I already said that it's pointless to worry about it and to just do what you're going to do but for me I would rather hydrate my organs and let my brain wake up on its own than to trick my body for a half hour

Oh geez... just wanted to listen to a light conversation. Walking away with new life goals. Pissing blood after heavy squats. I've never been so jealous by something that's never happened to me. 🤣
Band tension would make no difference, weight is weight, unless the change in resistance leads to changes in ROM at the elbow during a certain phase of the deadlift, which could cause sudden peaks that could tear the bicep. What would make a difference is changing the positioning of the bicep in relation to the weight; switching back to mixed grip after tearing a bicep is wild. -a Biomechanist
I am a caffeine free human. I use to drink a lot of caffeine when i was younger and always got migraines. I stopped drinking caffeine and the headaches went away so I don't drink much caffeine anymore.
I find bands or longer bar whippy deadlifts cause a shit ton of pressure to go to my head but my biceps feel fine. I have seen guys tear hamstrings more on bands but that’s only been when they’re not used to the tension profile of bands 4:21
Jack3d was crazy. The few times I took it I didn't even make it to the gym lol. I actually still have 3 unopened jars of the original lemon lime I got over a decade ago.

This should be a regular podcast show. Had a great time listening.
Agreed. It's rare to find an interesting duo like these two guys in the fitness community.
My favorite Juji ep is still with Eric back in the old gym. Great to see him back regularly lately!
its nuts how much eric has changed since then. Even his voice is different. That's all I'm gonna say.

Awesome to see Eric doing another podcast episode!
Muscle Milk was great. The label literally said does not contain milk. But then the first protein listed was milk protein.
I took those as a teenager 😂 nostalgia
Has canola oil now unfortunately
Sad there is hazardous stuff in Muscle Milk. Breast Milk is the best Muscle Milk! 💪😅.

Looking forward to listening to your Massenomics podcast tonight... hopefully you can convince Bugz to be their next guest!
