The only ones complaining about this car are Indian channels. The new Swift is well received in the UK and in Europe, where unlike in India, hot hatches are a thing. Most of these so called "journalists" either have a very limited understanding of a vehicle, or they just parrot popular talking points. They see the figures and go "hmmm, one less cylinder and less peak power figures, must mean that the new Swift is slower than the old one". They literally have no idea how the engine delivers power or where the peak power and torque kick in.

No it's not. 1st gen is the best. It was still lightweight but nowhere near the tincan level of the later generations. Only thing missing in the 1st gen was a proper ZDI variant. the basic of tire contact patch is flawed, friction i.e. tire grip is a function of weight and friction coefficient! so the contact patch being smaller and bigger has no bearing on it.
Tire grip is indeed a function of weight and the friction coefficient, the contact patch does play a role in how effectively that grip is utilized. The size and shape of the contact patch influence how the tire behaves. A larger contact patch can distribute the load more evenly, potentially leading to better handling, heat dissipation, and wear characteristics. So, saying that the contact patch has no bearing is not entirely accurate.
Hi, I own a 2010 model Swift. I have a question about refreshing the suspension. Currently, I am using 185 mm tires instead of the stock 165 mm ones. And having the stock suspension. Which suspension should I use? Will the stock suspension be a good fit? Can anyone help me with this?
