A BIG help here too is to grab the additional bays upgrade for the Hatchery. that way you can keep some bays "filled" with Struthi's ahead of time and still have bays open for your carnivores.
These guides are a lifesaver bro! Just one more challenge after this. The one thing I’d add is using the innovation centers. As soon as the money starts coming in I plop one of those right by the entrances to the amenities. I’ve shaved the better part of an hour off your times with that and it was especially helpful on this one as it curtailed the last, most intense of the struthi feeding. Thank you!
10:30 Expanding on Tip #2, I waited until a Struthi body's status changed from Dead to Decaying before removing it. I noticed that while one was still marked Dead, other carnivores would often feed on it and it seemed to make a difference in the kill rates.
I stopped removing them F it. They get all the way eaten eventually and I gave them the shots I still failed badly though. 2 stars maximum even with T rex so now I'm gonna farm cash research everything then figure it out. Nothing gives appeal foe me except attractions dinosaurs don't.
It really is that middle 2-2.5 star region that is an utter killer. I was stuck there in a Struthi loop because my four Carnotaurs decided to become murder hobos and their hunger would plummet faster than I could replace Struthis for them. And then a Pneumonia/Common Cold outbreak in the Metricantho enclosure right before I could get to 2.5 stars delayed that even further. It was a headache and a half, but once I got over that hump, the rest was smooth sailings. Kronosaurus being an appeal magnet while also needing very little space helped out a lot as well.
I absolutely feel your pain! The common cold really is the worst, and it always happens at the worst time too! Good job completing that level! I need to check out the Kronosaurus at some point, I haven't bought the pack yet.
I suggest not using Carnotaurus, they require multiple of them in a enclosure and they are super fast and eat ALOT, I personally decided to go for a dlc dino but a good dino can be majungosaurus, I dont know if they used it in the video already (I did the challenge a while ago and yes I know this comment is 2 years old but this could help people searching through the comments for help) but its def a good early game dino plus it gives more rating. Beat this last night. Your wasn't joking about the bit between 2 and 2 1/2 stars. It almost broke me but I kept coming back to this video. So thank you once again for this one. I've already watched the next and not looking forward to that
I made the first three missions on jurassic difficulty considering some of your advices, which helped me a lot. Overall I had my own playstyle (I play very slowly, pausing many times to think what the next step could be in the best case. I beat the first three missions with 2 hours under par each). Because I played the five challenges on hard first, I now wonder if there are differences in dinosaur behaviour between the difficulties. On hard I had 7 Quinzhousaurus and 9 Majungasaurus living happily together in a small, maybe medium paddock. They didn't even fight once. And I kept an eye on them because I knew from my first playing session in JWE2 that Dilophosaurus "likes" Compsognathus seem to mean "like to eat" (but I still think that's because compys are smaller than Dilophosaurus). I even maxed the Majunga- and the Quinzhousaurus out later so that both species' "free space" (or what it is called, I'm from Germany) was just close to the threshold so I ended up with 12 Majunga- and 9 Quinzhousauruses in that paddock. Plus now I remember having three Albertosaurus with 13 Carnotauruses in one paddock. They didn't fight once, too. So there must be a difference. My theory is so far, if there is no difference, that they were all too busy watching the Gyrospheres and Tourtrucks in their paddocks so they had no time to care about each other. 😂 But on the other hand that maybe not true, because I accidentally put Deinonychus into a paddock were compsognathus were in and there was a Gyrosphere and Tour track through it but they still got the time to kill any Compsognathus. Well, that would on the other hand again prove somehow my theory from above in which I state Dilophosaurus "likes" compys "to eat" because they are smaller. Hm. I now go start the nw usa challenge on jurassic and find out I guess. 😂 Thank you again for that very high quality information in your video! I subscribe! ♥
P. S. I tried a much more stressless approach and it worked quite fine (but maybe there will be a time issue towards the end now :D): I set up a fairly large paddock and incubated about 80 Struthiomimus first. My plan was so see how far I can go without any carnivore. At about 50 Struthiomimus I researched Innovation Center and more attraction building configurations. I researched Carnotaurus while I build a second paddock. Had a few issues with guest capacity then but managed to increase the capacity by making secondary paths in the most crowded. That was enough to get to 1,5 Stars and unlock wide path. which brought me to 1,7 after applied to all paths. At this time I had 80 Struhiomimus and I wanted to incubate the first Ceratosaurus. But then I got the first "unidentified ailment" among the Struthiomimus paddock. So I researched sich bay while seeing it spread like crazy and panicking after realizing the health bars went down. Of course it was avipox virus. After my sick bay was complete 60 Struthios were infected. I thought game over, how could I possibly handle that. I took a ranger team and called all Struhiomimus to my position, after a few seconds only one Struthiomimus had no infection still. I managed to put it into a quarantine paddock inside that paddock. After unlocking the medication, I applied it manually to every Struthiomimus losing 7. Maybe I could have saved 3 more by removing some forest texture which was stopping me at times. That was the only time I had stress. After that plague I was hit by the second storm but thanks to the ranger feature to call any herbivore to my location I could prevent escapes through the destroyed fences. That was no stress at all. Then I repaired everything and then started incubating Ceratosaurus and released 3 of them in the second paddock in which I put about 30 more Struthiomimus in the meantime. Plus I completed Carnotaurus genome to 100% as a sidequest. After had released about 9 Ceratosauruses and 12 Carnotaurus, I was ahead of 30% appeal but was still stuck at 2,2 Stars. I completed the Majungasaurus genome and hoped they would live peacefully with the Carnotauruses. And they really did! After 2 hours and 50 minutes total I finally hit 2,5 stars and had about 20,000,000$, 5 Scientists. Now I hope I will make it under par. :D Edit: I did it in 08:39, thanks for the help, even if I took a different approach. Well, Southwest now, that will be "fun" ...
Jurassic difficulty is all about those first few minutes, I always move the entrance at the start, so much easier to plan out your park with enclosures left and right of your main path in. Especially works well for the UK level and the South west.
The "Likes this Dinosaur" for a Carnivore is different from Herbivores. When its lists as a Carnivore likes X Dinosaur. It means that it will hunt or attack it. That is why your Majunga kept attacking the Qianz. They like seeing them in the enclosure so it will boost rating and comfort but at the cost of 1 million dollars per Qianz hahaha. If the dino is under dislike, it negatively effects comfort and dino rating. But they wont attack eachother because they want to be away from eachother. (Obviously there is an exception to every rule, but thats the general guideline)
@@thexprt7058 Marine creatures work the same. Large ones like Mosasaurus "like" anything small such as the Icthy. They say "like" but all it means is that they will hunt them and eat them over the shark feeder instead of leaving them alone. Everything else is just happy to be around then.
So, this is the only Jurassic Challenge that I didn't watch your video for before trying and despite completing in 9hrs, I struggled from 4 stars onwards. Fine up until that point, but then I rather quickly realised that I was not sensible with the space on the island. I had a lagoon and an aviary and it was a tough one. I think I struggled with the species variety penalty. In the end I had to double up in my Spino enclosure, put 7 of the Megalosaurus in place of my herbivore enclosure & 4 of the Carchara in place of the Cerato. Got there in the end but made it more difficult than it needed to be!
One way to alleviate the start is focus on building attractions instead of dinosaurs until you get to the 2.5 star mark. I was able to do it in three hours with that strategy.
Confirmed. 12 Innovation centers and 4 guest attractions + 100% guest comfort/restrooms/shelters/monorail got 2.5 np. I kept the set-up and replaced innovation centers with enclosures as I gained viable dinosaurs. I didn't make par time, but it can definitely be done.
Followed your videos for all the challenge modes and now got all of them 5 starred on jurassic 😁 would be cool if you did the newer challenge modes on the campaign and chaos theory maps 👍
Hey there! I got to the 4.5 star mark but I seem to be unable to get past it even though I hit the species and appeal target and configured my amenities, could you help me out?
a good way to make easy money after like 1.5 rating to get to 2.5 is to just release struthies in the first pen and constantly completing and renewing the increase the biggest dinosaur population contract, while constantly tranqing them and dropping them off in all the carno pens you might have.(so the actual number you need to complete the contract stays relatively low, like under ~15 ). Gonna be swimming in like 10 mil and not able to spend it fast enough. Sometimes you do not get the contract when renewing, but from my experience usually you do.
Didn’t realize I was supposed to be feeding the carnivores with the herbivoires… I got to 2.5 stars by just spamming the herbivores and guest attractions until I unlocked the feeders… still I got some good advice to go from 4.5 to 5 stars so thanks for that
Another solid video man. This challenge was probably the easiest for me since the game kept throwing money at me. Don't think I ever went under 10k. haha
Hopefully I can make it to 5 stars now I have spent over 23 hours on this one park loads of different layouts and I get to about 4.6 stars and no further
Thanks for the tips! This was very helpful. Was a tight challenge for me, took 23 hours🤦🙈 I did use an Aviary and lagoon though. The appeal was helpful
You should have showed the challenge screen in the beginning of the video, not your completion screen. It's a lot more important for people to learn/know the rules of the challenge than your completion time.
Yeah that map is rough. It gets a lot easier once you have feeders. You really gotta watch how much space you use, it’s likely you will run out of you aren’t careful. I made a video that showcases the best Dino’s to boost your park’s appeal, that video might help you!
Thank you very much for your guides! Very helpfull especially the UK map is impossible without your dino selling tips at the beginning... Just out of couriosity, if you need like 5k appeal for 2.5 stars could you just put like 500 struthi in your park or would that take way too much space? Also can I put car tours (for adventure guests) into the enclosures of carnivores or will they attack the guests?
In theory you could put a ton of struthi. There would be a species penalty to their rating for not having enough variety, so it would take a lot of them, but it's probably doable given enough space. And no, if you put a car tour into a carnivore enclosure they will attack it, you have to run the tour on the outside of the fence.
I think Attenboroughsaurus is the worst aquatic appeal wise with icthyosaurus being the second worst. I always go for tylo since it’s easily the best. Maybe using plesiosaurus with it would have went better. Since it likes the small aquatics it’ll minimize the required area for the tylo
I have a whole video where I tested which aquatics were the best. The Tylo and the Mosa beat out everything else pretty significantly, but I pretty much always avoid using aquatics now. They require too much space to be worth it most of the time, especially on jurassic challenge mode
@@thexprt7058 I’m actually watching as we speak lol. I think I was stuck in the set up cost vs appeal headspace instead of appeal vs enclosure space. I really like your videos!
I'll say this though, my appeal is only 24% because the star rating is based on your parks gross income, net profit and appeal don't figure into it beyond that, it's about how much money the park brings in.
Check your shops to make sure they are all configured to make as much money as possible, make sure your guest rating is as high as possible, then if that doesn't do it you will have to add more dino's to get more appeal.
I know this is an old video but I have one question: How the hell are you pulling in so many millions pre-2*? I always feel like I'm waiting 5-10 mins for my income to roll in
it.. didnt work? like i have 110% appeal, plenty of ammenities, 100% on pretty much all the stats but i still cant get past 4 stars? why is that? Edit: no matter how i rearrange stuff it just refuse to earn more cash.. like im genuinly stuck on this one................. like its impossible
Out of curiousity, how much does the "Humble" trait reduce the spacial needs of the Rexes and Gigas, or even better: the spacial needs of the more viable carnivores?
The humble trait reduces their requirements by 30%, so essentially you can get them in an enclosure that is 30% smaller or fit more in the same enclosure. If you seen my testing video where I showed what dino's worked best for space, the rexes had about 81% comfort without the humble trait, with the humble trait they were 100% comfortable with their enclosure. The humble trait is definitely worth using if you have it available!
I am stuck on 5.7 stars on medium. I got a 50% transport rating but I have monorails everywhere I dont understand. Frustrated.... Got 5 stars the next day. I thought I had my shops maxed out but they were not. And I filled two enclosures as much as I could.
I'm doing it on hard and I've got pretty much everything, I just can't seem to get the rating to 5 stars. I'm stuck on about 3.5 to 4.5, it alternates, I'm finding all the major carnivores like t Rex and spino need MASSIVE enclosures and the map is fucking small.
Yeah that’s why I say in a lot of my videos that space is a larger concern for me most of the time than money is. You can wait for more money to build up most of the time, you can’t get more space for your park. I would recommend not using large carnivores on that map especially
I usually just use medium ones, I will occasionally use a small one if there is a small space that needs coverage and I can't fit a medium one in there.
I love coming back to watch these over again, when I'm redoing my speedruns. I do wonder @TheXprt why do you not use One innovation Center and then add the Cinemas and others for the star profit to start? I make alot of money that way before I even add dinos.
I have been trying to win for two weeks. I’m up to 11 hours 🥲 (on hard, not Jurassic) I have so much money but only just over 4 stars. Clearly I need to delete everything any try again to fit more stuff. Edit: I will NOT be restarting the challenge. So much research and 76mil saved up 🙈
It’s definitely not easy, but you can do it! Honestly going from hard to Jurassic isn’t too extreme of difficulty jump, so if you decide to restart I would say just go for Jurassic and just keeping working until you complete it! The biggest thing on that scenario is maximizing your appeal in each enclosure and using your space wisely. What system do you play on?
@@thexprt7058 Play Station 4. I deleted the majority of my buildings yesterday. I definitely wasn’t very efficient with the space the first time around so it shouldn’t be too hard to do better
@@bodine219 Ok, let me know if that ends up helping you get to 5 stars, if not, it might be easiest to jump into a share play with you so I can see your park and try to help you get there!

In theory you could put a ton of struthi. There would be a species penalty to their rating for not having enough variety, so it would take a lot of them, but it's probably doable given enough space. And no, if you put a car tour into a carnivore enclosure they will attack it, you have to run the tour on the outside of the fence.
That’s for your tips , it helped a lot
249 Struthiomimus and later 4 Ceratosaurus to get 2,5 stars. Easy and fun challenge
Ceratosaurus is very underrated
I'll say this though, my appeal is only 24% because the star rating is based on your parks gross income, net profit and appeal don't figure into it beyond that, it's about how much money the park brings in.
I'm still stuck at this challenge on jurassic? My max is 4.0 stars and I don't how to get it higher should I bring more dinosaur despite penalty?
Check your shops to make sure they are all configured to make as much money as possible, make sure your guest rating is as high as possible, then if that doesn't do it you will have to add more dino's to get more appeal.
@@thexprt7058 alright thanks
I know this is an old video but I have one question:
How the hell are you pulling in so many millions pre-2*? I always feel like I'm waiting 5-10 mins for my income to roll in
it.. didnt work? like i have 110% appeal, plenty of ammenities, 100% on pretty much all the stats but i still cant get past 4 stars? why is that?
Edit: no matter how i rearrange stuff it just refuse to earn more cash.. like im genuinly stuck on this one................. like its impossible
Yeah that’s strange, it’s hard to say what it could be without actually looking at the park. There’s probably something you are overlooking somewhere
@@thexprt7058 guess I can start again or smth xd and build it more similar to yours
@@thexprt7058 Tested it out in both sandbox and Challenge, it is definitely worth having!
Absolutely! I didn't realize how useful it would be until after I made this video, definitely plan to try it out on my next playthrough!
I am stuck on 5.7 stars on medium. I got a 50% transport rating but I have monorails everywhere I dont understand. Frustrated.... Got 5 stars the next day. I thought I had my shops maxed out but they were not. And I filled two enclosures as much as I could.
The mechanism for counting % transport rating is strange. Guests here prefer a long, looping single monorail instead of two separated monorail system
Aware this video is old but I’m struggling as I can’t pass 4.7 stars at 18000 appeal
Please do more..
Just finished the jurassic challenge mode. My personal best time: 4.16
Didn't use the lagoon.
Your a freaking monster jeez... no lagoon!?!?!
You don't need the whole map, just the first 2 sections is enough.
Hey can you do Jurassic world chaos theory mode please cause I’m really having a hard and stressful time to finish it please
I have been working on the playthrough videos for the San Diego and Jurassic World levels. Which level are you struggling with?
Has the megalosaurus been removed from the game? It’s not listed on my database
It’s dlc
@@motmemotme ahh that explains it! Many thanks
How did using struthi as prey never occur to me?
They didn't make it very obvious, so it's pretty easy to overlook.
Don't have megalosaurus what else should I use
Hi, could you help me? I arrived 4.5 stars maximum 4.7 could you help me?
Personally i built up 2 billion in money yhen i used pyroraptor and carnotarus to get me to 2 stars where i used styxosaurus to get me to 3 stars.
Bro I’ve been on this for more than a day because I messed up one step
Trying to get pelypholax for indominus rex So i can make a jwtg park
Can anyone tell me why I can’t get any guests even with the park open
Need at least 1 viewing gallery
Did you use and large amenities or just medium and small ??
I usually just use medium ones, I will occasionally use a small one if there is a small space that needs coverage and I can't fit a medium one in there.
It’s not working
I love coming back to watch these over again, when I'm redoing my speedruns. I do wonder @TheXprt why do you not use One innovation Center and then add the Cinemas and others for the star profit to start? I make alot of money that way before I even add dinos.
@@moonkatt182 I’m not sure why I didn’t use those when I made this, I’m sure I had some reasoning for it, but I don’t remember lol
@@thexprt7058 I just beat it! I didn’t even need the third section lol. I just didn’t understand the extraordinary value of the humble trait.
@@bodine219 Awesome job! The humble trait can really come in handy, so good job using that! Now you should be ready for Jurassic Difficulty!
