Bob Ross is the OG Legend… does anyone fa asleep at night just by listening to these episodes? I’ve been doing it for 20 years, don’t need to watch bc when I was In HS (2000-2004) - I came home from HS and watched The Joy of Painting at 3pm. Bob has the heart and soul of an angel and now he’s actually angel 🕊️🤍

*King of ASMR before we knew it. LOL. as a little kid I'd prefer this over anything. back when there were only 3 channels.He came on channel 9. I learned to paint from him. his words and lingo were awesome and still to this day my favorite is when he cleans the brushes "beats the devil outta it"*

Seeing these videos feels like he's still alive painting great art to this day and run out the store for more paints for the next one.
If I were to choose a painting that literally broke the fourth wall, this would be it. The fact that Bob taught us an amazing technique with the wood grain view, and the fact that he was able to make a smaller version of a mountain painting, and create a whole layer in front of the wood grain view with the tree and grass and the fence, is beyond incredible for the amount of time that the episode is. This is a very talented and interesting and creative painting, and I enjoy if I were to choose a painting that literally broke the fourth wall, this would be it. This is a very talented and interesting and creative painting, and I enjoy just how unique and colorful this painting is. It has so much going on, pattern lies and temperature wise, with the cold mountain but the warm grassy tones, it brings so much variety in one canvas, I am honestly blown away.

After awhile you start to wonder if he & the director really have complications, he makes the "director yells at me" joke a lot! Hmmm... it's hard to imagine anyone not getting along with such a sweet natured man.

I was like "there's no way this man is gonna paint a mountain on this tiny little space" and then he went ahead and did it. I love being proved wrong.
It would have been neat to see him try differently-sized canvases instead of the 18”x24”.
This by far is the closest to it for him, and a really crazy one too. Probably his most “abstract”.

He ain't Dead, God created another universe because he was fed up with this one, and decided to ask Bob to create it for him, he's still Putting Happy little trees everywhere and Pushing Mighty mountains, and enjoying every minute of it, and when it rains, its him Beating the devil out of the old brush.
I wonder what led to the diagnosis, and also if he was in for something unrelated. See plenty of forums saying it's the exposure to so much paint thinner, etc. Who knows I guess. But I've known two guys with lymphoma. One had a lump in the neck, but no pain or any other symptoms. He's ok. The other guy's feet would swell. No lump in the neck. But swollen feet after just an hour of standing. Went in and found out he had it.
