Batman Soundtrack started me on a 30 year love affair with Prince's music, and will forever be in my top five P albums. I never understood the hate for it.

You can’t see her but Patrice Rushen is back there playing keyboards. She talked about it on Questlove’s podcast and she mentioned how much Prince rehearsed for this performance.

@@CuirPhotodotNet No he really did love her but it wasn't mutual. Prince always fell very easy for women. He talked about her even others who knew him knew how he felt about her too they talked about it.

I remember being so excited with this performance! I came in on the middle of the show, so I almost missed! They didn't have DVR's back then and I was too excited to set my vhs to record! This and Vicki Waiting are my favorite songs off of the Batman album! Great choice!

Of course Prince was “solo” from ‘87 to’91 but he still needed bands to perform with. On the “Sign O’ The Times” album it was solo but on the tour and in the concert film he had the band (Sheila E, Miko Weaver, Levi Seacer, Boni Boyer, etc.) that came in to replace The Revolution. This was after the “Lovesexy” album and tour and Sheila, Boni, and Cat had just left the band after being there for 2 years. He actually did use them on the “Lovesexy” album but he didn’t brand it as a “group” effort. Michael Bland came in the band in ‘89 to replace Sheila. Then with the exception of Miko Weaver and Dr. Fink, the band he used in 1990’s “Graffiti Bridge” and on the “Nude Tour” that same year ended up being the original New Power Generation which officially unveiled in 1991 after Tommy Barberella came in and replaced Dr. Fink on keyboards and Levi took Miko Weaver’s spot on guitar and Sonny Thompson was brought in as the new bassist. You need to check out the “Nude Tour” though because that was basically the tour to promote “Batman” and he actually does perform “The Future” as the opening number.

Baby its called the Cloud not Angel. The Cloud guitars he had a bunch of them. The first one and most famous is/was the white one he had in Purple Rain. Prince was ALWAYS solo he just needed a back up band all the instruments belonged to him too. And hon can you do me a favor? Can you put in some fresh batteries in your smoke detectors please cause they freak me out hearing them in your videos my adrenaline starts pumping thinking that its my smoke detectors that are going off not a fun experience to have to shut off the video just to go looking around my house to check thanks.
