Prince cannot be put into one genre, his music incorporated so many different elements. Pop, Rock, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Funk and Electronic. He was the genius behind what came to be called Minneapolis Sound. This man wrote his own songs, danced, produced and composed everything by himself, played like 27 instruments, is considered one of the greatest guitarists in history, influenced countless other artists and was responsible for writing some of their biggest hits. His vault of unreleased music at Paisley Park contains enough material for the Prince estate to release a full album for the next 500 years. I dont think any other artist in history even comes close in terms of pure talent and output.

All true what both Pink-Floyd and Lavender Bee are saying. In addition to ALL that, Prince also always supported women in music, he was a style and fashion icon, he was a phenomenal drum programmer, a magnificent rhythm guitar and bass player and .... Prince is, was and 4ever will be the best Live performer of all time (no auto-tune, no lip-sync, no BS, just spectacular shows of real music by real musicians ... check his Super Bowl halftime show and his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame performances).

The guitar design is based on a bass guitar his best friend and first bass player Andre Cymone once owned early in his career. It was later recreated as a lead guitar for Prince in Purple Rain. It’s called the “Cloud Guitar” which he had many in various colors throughout his career. If you see one up close it actually looks like a cloud. Thank you for this reaction video…always loved that performance!

His guitars are made to look like paisley print fabric = Paisley Park / that was his favorite design element and the name of his production company/studio. This song was from the movie BATMAN - Prince did the entire soundtrack, and it is pure musical genius! Best SNL music performance ever. By the way, Prince, Michael Jackson, and Madonna, (and me), were all born in 1958 and graduated from high school on the Bicentennial - best class ever - Spirit of ‘76, baby!! 👍🏼😉❤️

I can't believe people dosen't know how great PRINCE ROGERS NELSON was and all the stuff he did musically. Sadly simply seems like this particular generation has no real RESPECT all of his artistry an accomplishments. Thank GOD when I was 13yrs old I went to my 1st PRINCE LIVE show. It was the CONTROVERSY world tour. A year later I had the pleasure of attending his 1999 LIVE show. He added another show I purchased tickets from a guy who attended my high school when he noticed I was wearing my. PRINCE 1999 WORLD TOUR T-SHIRT because PRINCE had to reschedule his 2nd show. I listened to PRINCE 1st Album on *(8TRACK) "FOR YOU" at 11 yrs old becoming a fan after a summer break at my cousin's house. I ended up bringing it home playing it Morning Noon and Night. My Personal FAVORITE was his "DIRTY MIND" album it was my PURPLE RAIN before the storm of fairweather friends that came out after the movie. I didn't need PURPLE RAIN to see how great PRINCE ROGERS NELSON was musically he was in a CLASS by himself. Nowadays LITERALLY nobody even sees how great he was with all his artistry on UA-cam. 💐RIP🎶 PRINCE ROGERS NELSON 🔮 GOD BLESS THE WORLD WITH HIM HOPEFULLY ONE DAY THEY'LL SEE HOW GREAT HE WAS.

The Blue Angel Cloud Guitar. The first Cloud Guitar was built for Purple Rain and was an important part of the movie. It was based on a bass he bought for his buddy Andy Cymone and it became his show guitar from 85-93 replaced by symbol guitars and used sporadically until 2000 when it was retired. When he started going to more traditional looking guitars. This particular cloud was renamed the Blue Angel and sold at auction for $500k. The cloud like the symbol and the color purple are all things people see and automatically think Prince. And the same is to recall clouds. And in his early years see performances of head when he would jack the guitar off and then in baby I'm a star if was hooked up to a hose so it could ejaculate. This from the Batman soundtrack and my favorite prince song. And that's Michael Bland on the drums his first performance as P's drunmer and this is also the first performance of the New Power Generation

I saw him once live in Glasgow, July '92. He blew my mind. The performance from both him and his band was INSANE. The entire show is choreographed, allowing them to be his support band, and he can jump from role to role. Back in his heyday, he was WAY more prolific than ANY major artist. While artists were releasing an album every year, allowing it to grow with an audience, Prince would be submitting 3 or 4 albums a year, and having to fight hard for 2. He had so many double, and triple albums, of ALL EXCLUSIVE material, it's nuts. Eventually, he sold directly to fans. He was constantly reinventing himself. He OOOZED pure funk. He's an incredible guitarist and bassist, in addition to a singer and dancer. He has millions of influences, so every album is something different. You're not going to like all of it, but what you do like; you'll REALLY like.....like.....a LOT! Even the Batman soundtrack album came out of nowhere, to release with the Batman movie, Prince had 4 or 5 fully single-ready releases, ready to go, complete with Batman-themed official videos, with their own Prince spin. This is one of those singles. For me, his peak was in the 80's and 90's. May I suggest Let's Go Crazy, from 1985, for a BLISTERING guitar performance, or the full version of Alphabet Street, from 1988 (the 6-minute album version) for his FUNKY AF slap bass?
