Great Yarmouth has become one of the most Family Friendly places you can visit 👍No more Big drinking bars and very little stag do’s 👍It’s kind of reinvented itself as a family destination, very busy and now a great place to visit for everyone, and also the prices for food etc are pretty cheap compared to other places in the Uk. It’s become a great place to take a break 👍👍👊👊
And we want to see ALL of you for the Fairgroundfest during the last week in October. I'm taking my kids and dressing up as either Wednesday OR Morticia Addams
@@GimbalWalkTV oh boy brings back memories from my childhood (1970s), my children’s childhood (1990’s), and the one holiday I took with my grandson (2018). In all cases we stayed at California/ Scratby just up the coast and just visited Yarmouth. I remember my grandson being disappointed we didn’t go to the beach in Yarmouth so my son-in-law dropped us off at Caister beach and we walked along to California while he drove back to our chalet in Scratby, then walked to the California Tavern where we met him after a leisurely wander along the beach. Because for me it’s the beach and walking Yarmouth has never been my favourite except as a go on the pier (I didn’t notice if the old ghost train and carousels are still there). We did go to the Sealife Centre in 2018 and timed getting to the penguins at feeding time which my then 4 year old grandson loved. And considering he was more into cars and motorbikes then (and now) the sealife centre held his focus really well… he was almost upset to leave until he realised he could buy a toy. Then he did get upset when daddy started taking us back to the chalet before he’d been on the beach as I previously explained.
Nothing wrong with Gt Yarmouth as long as you don't live there. Born 1947 and was in the town till 1962 then joined RN. Had a fantastic time growing up in the town .it was busy from mainly Northern people taking their holidays when I worked as a barrow boy picking up people from the railway station taking them to their BB. Happy carefree days .Now it's soulless full of "dont careless" immigrants who live in streets where we used to play, now we don't venture in those areas in fear of abuse. The market place which was the hub of the town is now a soulless area. Subsequently the town with so much history going back hundreds of years has been given to death sentence. RIP GT Yarmouth 😢
I visited here 2 years ago for a few days, I absolutely loved it , the place seemed clean and friendly with plenty to do , went to the pleasure beach - model village , cinema - drinks on the pier in the evening, explored the shops in the daytime , I can’t see why people slag it off , the hotel I stayed in was lovely and friendly , the only bad thing was the 3 hour drive each way from where I live - visited here as a kid loads and it still has a charm about it , I hope they re open the winter gardens it use to be a lovely place.
I plan to retire to Great Yarmouth. I live in Hackney in London at present. Also, a much maligned location. They're both wonderful places. There's an old story about a journey man asking what the next town is like. The old man by the roadside answers 'what was the last town like?' If the last town was good, so will the next one be. Been to great Yarmouth apart from during covd every single year since I was born with my granparents and then my parents and now its just me, my wife and son. Yeh its run down when you go back a few streets but for a day trip its great.
It's a brilliant resort for all. It has improved so much in very recent years. A lovely mixture of old and new too with the old town and modern seafront. Every one should visit soon.

Thanks for showing us around great Yarmouth and all the bikes and old and new cars and it is a bit busy and having the road closed off at least you had a nice time and the weather stayed dry for everyone and the police and fire bridge Thanks Neil and the fish and chips and the pier ice cream shops
I’ve been to Great Yarmouth, and it was perfectly good. Maybe I just went at a good time, but it was relatively easy to move around, there was a good amount of things to see and do, the staff in places were friendly and the food was good. I’d recommend it for a day out.
The Empire on the seafront is steeped in history and during the summer have some great bands on (esp Fri and Sat night) if you know where to go it is a really good place. A circus, second to none, The Smokehouse near Caister Thurs night (motor bikes and band), Lee Statham (Jason's brother) was playing at The Albion recently. Soon to have a new bridge 3rd river crossing and despite mass immigration of 3rd world immigrants over weight tattooed tourists and The Govt attempts to destroy it. it is surviving and thriving..
One of the best seaside resorts in the UK! Do some research on its position as one of the biggest medieval towns in England! Then research it's historic past as a victorian resort and even a post war one! Finally, enjoy the beach and modern rides etc! Don't just go for chips and beer! ❤😂

Great videos, I'm loving them. I'd like to visit here at the end of August from London, it looks great. However, I'd be travelling alone and not sure how to commute, as i dont travel much, would love some help with this. How far is the train station from the Carlton Hotel, and would i be able to get a taxi with ease from station to hotel, if needed.
Great beach, great model village, great fish and chips opposite, great venetian waterway, so not bad. Everywhere has its good and bad. Too many immigrants for sure foisted on the town. Time and Tide museum a must see. Has the most complete town wall of any place to I believe.

You want to try living here, it's the absolute worst. Try being stuck in the town in the middle of February, with everything closed. Nothing for the kids to do, and even in the summer, there's not a lot for the local kids that's not basically tourism based, so actually expensive on a regular basis. Also it is incredibly annoying if you live close to the seafront when they up and close the road like this. It pushes all of the traffic onto the other normally congested roads. Doesn't really matter to the majority of the residents how much money an event like this pulls in, most people don't actually rely on tourism for their livelihoods. OK I haven't live in the Borough of Great Yarmouth all of my life, I moved to Yarmouth in 87, and Norfolk in 85. I lived in Weston Super Mare for a couple of years before that, and out of season that was also a real unpleasant place to be out of season.
I moved from North Suffolk, Lowestoft and Yarmouth were my closest beaches, down to Essex and now I'm feeling homesick againwe'll be in Yarmouth for the Fairground fest
