Thank you SO much! I am a midget and your video really inspired me! I one foot it & am real good. And I never stop on an uphill or downhill. I also use a 2 step ladder to get on & I usually ride to an area where I can get one foot down, like a curb. I lean a lot (45*) at stop lights but get one foot firmly planted. One advantage to my 3'7" height is that I tuck when going fast and hardly any wind hits me.

The thing to remind new riders of is "uneven pavement" at the bottom of hills, near curbs/gutters. It's tough to remember to use the foot opposite of the dips to keep yourself from falling over.
Good point, that's the trick.... if you don't (maybe you have to stop too quickly in an emergency) you might have to shuffle seat position VERY quickly... or you'll struggle not to drop it. Focus on keeping that 'hunk of steel' vertical (until you are moving at some speed) Then open the throttle - you earned it. 🙂

chelsea coover I’m 5’1” and am on my 3rd bike. I get mine lowered. I don’t have the confidence to ride a not lowered bike and the bikes feel so heavy to me. I have dropped a couple times at a stop even lowered. It sucks but I have my bikes modified to lessen damage. I may not be able to lean my bike hard on turns but I don’t ride all crazy either!
Smart lady, very good advice. I began biking in 1967 when all bikes were far less tall. Nowadays what I consider to be a giant bike (my GTR1400) is very heavy, with a high centre of gravity, and a far too high seat height - '.m 5ft. 9 ins. and on the balls of my feet!!!!!!! As any racer will confirm, for max. handling bikes need to be light, with a low centre of gravity, and low seating. Manufacturers routinely break these basic principles, and see only the need to inflict on us complex (immensely expensive to repair) unnecessary electronics. It's all extremely silly. The bike of mine I mentioned boasts a frame and wheels painted with ONE COAT of WATER COLOUR PAINT! For heaven's sake! So, to return to the subject - a vast number today's bikers are by necessity into shorter rear suspension and / or 'Lust Racing' suspension linkages, and / or lowered seats. And as girlie said - softening the suspension all round. Although girlie manages beautifully in daylight on flat ground, rest assured that slowly manaovering a very heavy bike after dark on uneven ground on tiptoe is an entirely different matter, and a damn good recipe for dropping the machine no matter how clever/ experienced one thinks one is. P.S. A sound temporary fix for ladies are high heels. I joke not.
Nice video. Kudos ! Hats off for breaking the stereotype - 1. Girls can't ride bikes / 2. Short Riders can't ride ; you demolished both and proved ! Great Going Mate ! Happy & Safe Miles Ahead ! :) This is my first time here in this channel of yours, truly love it. :) Super Liked and subscribed.

Good tips. I sit at 5'3" 150lbs and after a few hundred to a thousand miles, I adjust my suspension usually one notch above middle. That gives me enough rebound for cornering with my weight, but just the right amount of sag. I just did a similar video a few weeks ago showing how I manage a stock R6 and Z650. Each bike sits very different, and requires totally different technique for stops and starts. The Z650 is a great short person or possible beginner bike. Keep up the great vids!
I just bought a scooter, and i’m 4,10, and i get disappointed cuz i'm súper short and my feet don’t touch the ground, I was about to give up, until I saw this video! Thank u so much!
Good comment from a reader that seat width matters! Not just for reaching the ground but for hanging off. Also, I can't touch quite as easily as you. Just swallow your pride if you are trying to back into a spot and can't get enough traction. Get off and roll it! Dropping your bike (especially if a gravelly surface) just isn't worth it!
Why don't you guys mention the seat height of the bike you describing and your height. Just don't keep talking 10 minutes of not important stuff. Mention your height, the seat height of the bike, what class street bike is it like 600 , or 750 , or 1000 . So simple, almost all you guys talk talk talk and no one get right information. Try this next time. Your video is 13 minutes of wasting time. It could be explained in just 3 minutes
I have a vstrom 1000 with a seat height of 34 inches after padding added, my inseam is 29.5 inches, I too put my foot onto the left foot peg and swing my leg over like she does with her super-moto, someone described this to me like mounting a horse and I have to agree, I could swing my leg over if I was 20 yrs younger but the hips don't lie anymore just hurt LOL
I really loved the V-Strom when I tried it but I got scared of the height. When the ground is slippery, even with good boots it gets really tricky to stay on tiptoes.
You’re super funny! I’m also 5’3.5” so this was super helpful. I have a ktm rc390 and it’s fine for my height but if I wanted a diff bike, at least now I know :)
I’ve been wanting to ride a bike for years and I mean years. My dad took me out on his when I was 13 and been hooked ever since. Finally going to get my bike license and get a ninja 300 (my dream bike). Thanks for the confidence
Im 5'6'' filipino guy but this is helpful especially in handling my MX bike. i still reduce its height a little bit for me to totally fix both of my feet on the ground. thanks for video
Emilee Lynch Same!! I've always pictured her as like a Philippino or something. She just reminds me if a gal I went to high school with from the Philippines.
At 5'1" and 115 lbs with a 28" inseam, I can't touch *on either side* of my stock-height Street Triple R if someone holds it upright. And yes, the suspension sag *is* set up for me. The trick? On one toe at all stops! If I slide off the seat, I can flat-foot it on one side, but only if the road camber is juuuust riiiiight 😂
Why listen to music with the word "Nigga".. you're not allowed to say it.. why support it..? 🤔.. irony of ironies... I like the video.. music is horrendous!
6:04 You would have no reserves left if you have irregularities on the ground or if you hit a wheel rut. If I can't get one complete foot on the ground, I'm not riding that bike. IMHO
Say girl - you're video was extremely helpful! I'm 34 5'4 and just getting into motorcycling! I was apprehensive because all the bikes were considerably larger than me - but i did research and found a couple video's on short riders, never came across you're until now, and your video was night and day compared to the others i had watched- it seemed the others were tall people trying to describe what short riders "WOULD DO" , however, you're a short rider saying what "YOU DO" ! lol... love it plus you're little frame is cute! Be safe - Joey B
People think it's just height, but the length of the legs isn't all... the width of your hips, (typically women have wider hips) and the width of the seat make a difference, a wide seat will eat up some of your leg length as you straddle it, so women can usually fit on a wider seat more comfortably. Your weight also has to do with it, a small light person wont compress the bike as much, even with adjusting the shocks, when a heavier person will drop the bike more. Also take into account, some people are small, but have bigger feet.. I'm 5'6 but have a size 11 Nike foot. So my big ass feet make up for short legs when I use my tippy toes. So all in all, with the same exact bike ten people of the same height will fit on it differently, some will be flat foot, some tippy toe, some won't fit at all... you just have to try out a few bikes and see what fits you.
At 5'6(167cm) the only stock sportbikes I can flatfoot are the GSXR. Suzuki really did a great job designing the subframe for shorter riders. For the fit/performance/styling and $ for maintenance, Suzuki gets my thumbs up for best bang for the buck. Coming from a zx-10r owner.

I'm 5'3" and started on a Kawasaki eliminator 125. I can flat foot it even on the passenger seat. I went to the local dealer to try a few bikes and I was looking at a Ninja 300 or maybe a bigger cruiser.
My wife is short and she rides. When I say short, shes short. 4'11". We have found the true limiting factor is can you rock the bike up and support it with your right leg and at the same time reach the kickstand to put it up. LOL Seriously that IS the true limiting factor. Bikes shes owned, Ninja 250, SV650S, F650 BMW and CBR600 F4i. Only the SV was lowered with lowering links, all the other bikes were pretty much stock. If a 4'11" girl can do it just about anyone can. My wife gets a kick out of someone that is 5'3" claiming they are too short to ride. BTW You can always pick up a bike like a Sportster if you find sport bikes too tall. Yamaha Bolt looks pretty cool too. Wife has her eye on the new BMW 300 R so we are headed over after work to give one a sit.
One thing no one ever mentions is the bikes width and your thigh size... You have skinny legs. I'm 5'7", weigh 210 lbs and my legs are touching at my thighs (muscle not fat). My inseam is 28" and my R6 seat height is 33.5 STRAIGHT DOWN. All of those variables make it so I can tip toe on one foot with my ass slid over on the seat. So my only option is to lower it so I can even get the ball of my one foot on the ground with my ass half off the bike. If I live in the suburbs I wouldn't lower my bike, but I live in the city and my rides are 40-60% time sitting at a stop light or sign until I get away from town. I'm a Yamaha fan boy so I wouldn't ride anything else like a GSXR
This gives me so much hope, I’m 5’6 and I really want a Triumph Bonneville Street Scrambler. But I wasn’t sure if I could even have my feet on the ground
Im 5'5 and 135 pounds but my real inseam (ankle to crotch) is only 26 inches. I am looking at the GSXR750 and I want it dropped AT LEAST an inch, inch and a half from stock height, but 2-3 would be ideal. I sat on it at the dealership and both feet out my tip toes were hardly touching, I would be very uncomfortable to ride like that. I see some people take the foam from the seat out, or at least cut some of it out and soften the rear up like youve done, will that be enough? Also, doesnt taking the foam out make it more uncomfortable to ride? I want something I can cruise a little while on without hating myself. But I want to be lower to the ground or I wont ride at all. I could always drop the rear and probably the front a little bit but so many people say that ruins the handling. (which my current bike dropped I don't think changed really any the way I ride) But I want a real sport bike, and have it done right. Show less REPLY
I bought a cbr 600 & I’m 5’6 & fit. I feel like an ass for saying I feel too short for it... real question though... how in the world do you back up when you’re tiptoeing, my bike is so heavy I literally can’t back up. Even getting off the bike and pushing it up my driveway is a workout & near impossible sometimes. I don’t have enough pushing power with my tiptoes to push the bike backwards after pulling into a parking stall. How in the world do you manage to manoeuvre the bike in neutral tiptoeing.. and how do you even push your bike when needed when you get off it ( if you do ). The biggest fear of riding this bike is the fact I feel like I can’t move it sometimes 🙁
5'5 human here. Also former Honda CBR500R owner. Pretty much did the same thing - softeing the suspension. But lol, being a noob back then, I didnt know to do that for 🤔 about a month before I asked the shop to have it adjusted... good times
I'm 5'4 and ride a Bandit 600, not saying its the biggest bike but lots of top heavy weight. And I am perfectly fine its all in your head, you can do everything with just your left foot.. :)
thanks for the nice video. I am 2 inch taller (people of our country are a little shorter then europeans and I am particularly short ) then you although I ride a 80cc small bike. just never tried a taller bike thinking it wont fit me. watching you riding thinking to try big bikes.
They actually make insoles that you can put in your shoes that'll make you taller. As long as you have some high top riding shoes, you can always try that alternative and see if it helps you flat foot on your bike. So much easier and safer when it comes to stopping on hills or having to walk you bike backwards.

I have dropped a couple times at a stop even lowered. It sucks but I have my bikes modified to lessen damage. I may not be able to lean my bike hard on turns but I don’t ride all crazy either!
For everyone who replied i am asking..I am like 5'1"Can i ride a bike with 81cm seat height?or 65?Im pretty confident i can but idk
get bike, ditch bf lol
I joke not.
Dopest intro god damn
6"7... can't even look cool on a crotchrocket 😐... struggle is real
Nice video. Kudos ! Hats off for breaking the stereotype - 1. Girls can't ride bikes / 2. Short Riders can't ride ; you demolished both and proved ! Great Going Mate ! Happy & Safe Miles Ahead ! :) This is my first time here in this channel of yours, truly love it. :)
Super Liked and subscribed.
You may be of short height but you have longs legs lol
Today we went to the Swiss bike in Zurich and tried many bikes and I really did not get very well to the floor and I was disappointed but now that I see your video I have a chance I liked the kawasaki versys 300 since I want to buy a motorbike for trips and arrived at the floor but very little lol I am new subscriber greetings from a small Swiss town called galgenen
I watch this video after watching 2 part series of yours and I saw your comment here. Thanks for your video. Its got good tips.
i’m literally 4’9 and i wanna get a bike so bad 😭😂
spacegvrl im 4’9 and I just got myself a grom :) im on my tippy toes but I can ride it
Get a grom
thank you for this video a much needed one that needed to be made. I have shared it with my wife she is 5'3 and about 115 lbs Def helping her out
That's awesome! Glad it was able to help out!
I’m 5 3 and a half now I know I’m not getting a Harley Davidson but a gixxer
finally somebody who shows how to do it instead of telling you how to set up suspension sag
I dint know why I'm watching this, I'm 190cm (or about 24 cabbages, 6 smoked eals for you Americans)
i am 152 cm but no problem
i am a soldier of Gorkha Regiment
of Indian army
#PKMBK sir✌
All respect to Ghurkas!
I am a sikh but i love nd respect gorkha 's
In my country... We need to be 170cm to be a soldier...
and your point is???
I just bought a scooter, and i’m 4,10, and i get disappointed cuz i'm súper short and my feet don’t touch the ground, I was about to give up, until I saw this video! Thank u so much!
🤣🤣🤣🤣✌
Here even kids can ride scooters. Its easier because you have a stepboard. Dani Pedrosa is 5'2 but competes in MotoGP driving tall bikes.
This video is years ago and it still make me watch it :)
5'1" here on a 390 Duke MY2018
Waa mah gwaddd
i m 5.1 feet and not enough
to supermoto
Remember Ricky Carmichael, he rode the 450cc bike like the 80cc.
5'1 ??? *Please go METRIC! Bangkok-Johnny, (THAILAND METRIC COUNTRY)* ua-cam.com/video/zH73UHVRh2k/v-deo.html
Why the crap music ,very annoying
I am a brand new, 5' 3 1/2" tall, mature, lady bike rider. You were very helpful, thank you.
IG?
pandj350z what?
The weight of the motor I cant carry:(
Im 5'6'' filipino guy but this is helpful especially in handling my MX bike. i still reduce its height a little bit for me to totally fix both of my feet on the ground. thanks for video
Do you think I am able to drive a yamaha wr 125x? im 5foot 4.59inches
hey its z
Can you do a face reveal
Puma 13 she said she would do a face reveal at 100k... but for some reason i cant stop imagining her as an asian.
Emilee Lynch Same!! I've always pictured her as like a Philippino or something. She just reminds me if a gal I went to high school with from the Philippines.
Puma 13 she deff. has freckles.. maybe? lol
I think she is Asian cause look at her boyfriend Brian
deff Asian & I am a midget. lm = lil midgie. midgie + lil Asian = cute couple
Thanks this helped from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
It's ok on flat roads .but
can you face stop up the hills? I think will be very hard to start up hills.
right bro
Im Not Short In Fact Im Very Tall For My Age hehehe so I may have issues being to tall...
but I have friends who could definitely take this advice
Good video. But it's not your height that matters. It's your inseam.
5'2" with a 35-inch inseam, I wanna see that dude hahaha
How tall are you, Mike?
I would just ride then edit a voice over in later.
i bet passing cars are like wtf as bike bloggers wave ther arms around full convo mode lol.
When you are 1.65m tall you appreciate those videos.
Thanks ^^
*Juan Benito del Castillo. Thank, Gracias, Merci fo the METRIFICATION Bangkok-Johnny, (THAILAND METRIC COUNTRY)* ua-cam.com/video/zH73UHVRh2k/v-deo.html
"brown hair, brown eyes, single and ready"
YAY!
"I'm just kidding I'm not single"
:'(
2:45 .... is that a hint to try?
JP Criddle you got it.
Thank u!!! I have the same issue with my Ducati hypermotard.
What year? And how tall are you hun did you reach the ground??
how do you not have 500k+ subs, your content is so good lol. like the editing is rly good... keep it up
because no ass no boobs and no face
Sven C Lol
6:04 You would have no reserves left if you have irregularities on the ground or if you hit a wheel rut. If I can't get one complete foot on the ground, I'm not riding that bike. IMHO
Watch out for street gravel and pebbles! Especially when wearing riding boots
Wow that intro shows a very different personality!!
LOVE UR VID!!
So all in all, with the same exact bike ten people of the same height will fit on it differently, some will be flat foot, some tippy toe, some won't fit at all... you just have to try out a few bikes and see what fits you.
tip toeing made my right calf muscle bigger than my left calf muscle
5’1.5 ;-;
Anyone have growth tricks? I need to be taller lol
I’ll try and go to the dealer once I get my license
amazing, its like a skill they should teach at msf classes
I'll like it more if you remove your helmet while explaining 😄
I wonder how Suburban delinquent fits. #babylegs #OompaLoompa
Gsxr 750s are deceptively easy to flatfoot. Don't know what it is
At 5'6(167cm) the only stock sportbikes I can flatfoot are the GSXR. Suzuki really did a great job designing the subframe for shorter riders. For the fit/performance/styling and $ for maintenance, Suzuki gets my thumbs up for best bang for the buck. Coming from a zx-10r owner.
Abang saya short@pendekla...saya gen abah saya tinggi...hahaha,wanita tak elok bawak motor sebab elok duduk rumah jer...sebab kod penyamun Malaysia ni urutan kaki bersama suhu air 150cc-500cc perlahan-lahan,dah macam cc motor pula suhu air untuk rendam kaki tu kan?..hahaha:-) saya lelaki bukan wanita...sebab itu saya nyanyi panggil isteri-isteri saya bukan suami-suami tau...tetapi memanggil orang beriman juga seluruh dunia...faham kan?..hahaha,suara Muhammad paling digeruni kan?..zainab pun sudah tersesat ke mekah, jadi saya hanya mampu monitor dan menunggu siapa yang mahu selamat dari azab Allah sahaja...layanzzzz® :-)
Biker babe, half way through the video and you still haven't started with information . Try having important info in the begging ppl have short attention spans .
Music on this was siiiiick

But lol, being a noob back then, I didnt know to do that for 🤔 about a month before I asked the shop to have it adjusted... good times
Big bike? Short legs?
Two words:
Platform Shoes.
I'm 5'4 and ride a Bandit 600, not saying its the biggest bike but lots of top heavy weight. And I am perfectly fine its all in your head, you can do everything with just your left foot.. :)
I’m 5’7 135 Pounds. What bike is good for me?
All of them im 5/5 and can ride everthing, only one prob i have is reversing and have to get off
You mention your height but what is your inseam? I'm 5'6" but I have a 28" inseam.
The music could be different. SCRAP THE RAP!
How about if I'm 4 feet 10 inches ?
And I want a standard motorcycle, not a custom/cruiser
thanks for the nice video.
So much easier and safer when it comes to stopping on hills or having to walk you bike backwards.
thankThis was really helpful you I’m 5.3 and I am wanting to get into riding motorcycles so thank you for the tips
Great video, you talk a lot about riders 5´2¨ and up but, im only 4´10¨ i don’t believe there is a bike that i would ver be able to ride
3:14 "So me sitting on it, it would be rock hard." Hmmm.....
