"DONT´t get suprised if you get booted and blacklistet for spying"
    "DON´T record any coms!"
"DON´T upload any feed an feed from horde" (ohh i will !)
"We DON´t wann fuel the goon propaganda mashine"
"The ONLY 2 explanations for hiding ISK transfers is 1) Hiding RMT 2) Hiding funding transfers to spy accounts"
    +++++++++++++++++++++
    UPDATE 23.01.2024:
Mistake at 2:49. A Horde member sent me this link. There are many more PVE systems for basic members than just 4 around the HQ. You have direct access with just one jump. Therefore, here's the correction map: i.imgur.com/wt....
    +++++++++++++++++++++
I received many questions from you asking if it's worth to join a 0.0 alliance. So, I took it upon myself to find out. I spent 10 days in Pandemic Horde, participating in a total of 18 fleets. This experience allowed me to gather a view, highlighting both the pros and cons, to provide you with a well-rounded perspective.
My questions have also led to some annoyance and irritation within Pandemic Horde, which is quite unfortunate. After joining 18 fleets, I received varying responses to my question. Some FCs didn’t respond at all, showing poor etiquette, but I’m okay with that. Others explicitly refused, which is also acceptable to me. However, a few conditioned their approval on the fleet "looking good" in the battle report. "we dont wanna feed the goon propaganda mashine", but hey i dont care about that !! This experience indicates that those who ask politely and frequently face significant restrictions, which is a disappointing revelation. The video documenting these experiences also.

Esi checks should be required. In a game like this letting an enemy in can cause you to lose everything.

Dear Ami, here is a comment from another fellow German eve player:
I play EVE since 4 years and am a member of PH since 2. I can see some of your critic points but I also see your video critically. I'm having a pretty good time there and Horde has lots of sigs, groups and other content if you apply for it. Being a newbean and only having a few systems to rat in, is a thing I criticize myself. Yet getting into a gated corp is no struggle at all. I've got accepted into a German corp a few days after being in PH which immediately opens all doors, no more requirements but a background check. And as said: other alliances are much more strict with their applications. So, as soon as I got to know my stuff, I joined lots of PVE and PVP sigs, had lots of fun and most FC's explain the current mission... If not, just ask. And being in a massive alliances also doesn't mean that you can't solo or small gang anymore... just leave your sheltered home and visit some low sec or enemy territory. Horde doesn't even forbid you to fly with independent groups or NPSI groups, as long as you don't shoot allies...obviously. I fly with all of these guys you just chatted with and they are nice people who explain everything. But us germans we are a bit stiff und weird and I can imagine that you appeared like a sniffer dog. But yes, that "don't feed goon propaganda stuff" is weird. I've been following eve politics on reddit recently and its totally weird, from both sides.
You know, I don't want to contradict you in every point, it's just that I think your picture of PH is very incomplete.

As a fellow Solo/small-gang PVP enjoyer and content creator, I found the video to be greatly amusing and it perfectly encapsulates the state of null blocs in 2024.
In terms of PVP, Brave, Horde, and others offered great PVP content several years ago. Now, however, as you have seen for yourself, they only care about “zkill green” which is why they absolutely stomp anyone who ventures into their space, especially with Marauders.
Null blocs utilize “strength in numbers” i.e. bringing a massive blob of F1 monkeys. I didn’t want to be “just another number” and instead I prefer to fly solo/small-gang, retaining that sense of individuality, actually having fun piloting your ship (i.e. not just F1).
I am new to your channel but see that you have done a solid amount of Solo PVP as well, so I’m sure you can understand the gist of what I’m saying. On the other hand, you might not be familiar with the idea of small-gang playstyle. Small-gang can be defined to be flying with

I really didn't have an easy time in Pandemic Horde, but I still tried to paint a neutral overview for you. Here are some comments that i was facing with:

Descent video, just returned to mess around a bit and joined PH. No offense intended but you are a bit naive in your thinking. Big blocks aren't looking for fair fights in their backyard/home turf, they are looking to protect their territory. An opposing FC that shows up in a Big Block backyard is (a) looking for soft targets / easy kills (b) expecting to get blobbed for stepping on a big block home turf because it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. Oh and spy's in big blocks are a problem, everyone has them and restrictions are a way of life.

@@ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb they’re probably talking about goon home defense fleets against horde roams, where the same thing you noticed from horde home defense fleets applies. Certainly last time I went on a 40 retri roam to goon space as a horde member and we refused to fight their 120 man harpy fleet, people were pretty pissed 😅. Really it’s a tough balance to strike, it would be great to have fleets of comparable numbers so the bigger fleet fights happen more often, but the defending side also has the need to protect their space so they often overform quite a bit. Occasionally an fc will come and sit still shooting an ansi to “ring the dinner bell” which can sometimes get a reasonable form (since they’re not threatening the home turf, just waiting for a reasonable fight), but even that doesn’t always work and they just get outformed anyway. It’s tough to get good fights in eve when 90% of battles are decided by numbers/ship comp before the shooting even starts.

Pandemic Horde is offering all possible oppertunities to his members a Nullsec Alliance can offer. There are all kinds of PvP not only blob fights, like some people claim. There are several FC's running roaming gangs and other stuff. But you don't have to do PvP all the time. You are not forced to do anything by the Alliance. You can do your own stuff if you want. There is a bunch of PVE possibilities starting from guided newbie mining events. Experienced players can easily make several hundred million isk an hour in different ways, supported and secured by your alliance mates. Yes, there are rules. But you need rules if thousand of players interact with each other, sharing the same space and resources. Pandemic Horde is extremly Newbie friendly, makes it easy for his members to explore their opertunities in Eve step by step, helps them to grow and getting rich. Without bullying other Eve players by braindead asshole moves like other Nullsec Alliances.

  • @Gobbins_PH
    @Gobbins_PH 6 місяців тому +66

Thank you for making a video about my alliance and for your feedback. I want to correct some inaccuracies:
    - There are not 4 pve systems open for trial players in Horde, there are 50.
    - All large nullbloc alliances require API keys due to security concerns. Horde is the only large entity that allows non-API players into nullsec to begin with, and the restrictions you mentioned are lifted upon providing API.
    - The hostile fleets you showed in your video were not roaming gangs ‘looking for nice fights’ but strat opses, whose goal is to either destroy infrastructure or cause as much damage as possible. They do not show up to give ‘honorable fights’.
    - Within the alliance, there are many special interest groups (SIGs) for different types of gameplay, including FW or smaller sized fleets. These are special subgroups within the alliance that members can join and leave at their leisure.
    - You claim that single players cannot matter in a big fleet. There are many individual roles that make a huge difference even when 100s of players are in fleet. Some examples would be fleet commanders, scouts, logi, cynos, coordinators, or any of the people that allow 100s of strangers to work together as a unit.
    - There is no alliance-wide policy of what videos can or cannot be posted. Each FC can ask for their voice to not be recorded.

I've pinned that at the top of the video. btw, my videos are made purely for fun, I don't receive any payment, so they always portray my personal experiences and perspectives. But it is like it is: I'm simply sharing my own experiences, which could be similar to those of a new player, and I present them with my subjective opinions. As a special gesture, I'll be fair and make sure to mention the Horde PVE areas again at the beginning of the next video because I know, that not everyone may will be read your posting below this video ;-)

I've been playing eve since 2005 and even for someone like me, the game is so incredibly complex that I still can't explain everything in detail. When a player has an experience with horde you should be extremely grateful and not only go fingerpointing what's wrong. Why you haven't mentioned a single word about the positive things that have been said about your alliance? Gobbins remember 2015? When you founded Horde? Wasn't your goal to make NULLSPACE more accessible to new players? Wasn't the idea to create an alliance that is open to everyone?
Alliances change, policy change but Horde was the "go to place" for new player as a friendly alliance under PL. Its not a far future, when you're like every other null-sec alliances. What used to make you strong over the years, being open to everyone, is now getting more and more restricted. Over the last years you've strongly continued to lower access for basic members, you founded "Blessed Bean" and others, the initially open PH has become more and more restricted.
      - Where is your willingness to accept feedback?
      - Why not inviting her to create a new video like *This is Pandemic Horde* ?
You could even offer her some ISK as an incentive. This way, you could promote Horde with an extensive reach and have a video that aligns with your vision and without mistakes.

I was in horde over a year and regularly lead home defense standing fleets in USTZ. Had a lot of friends there and we killed it in PvP! Went on a filament roam one time and accidentally killed one player that apparently was "Blue" to us, even though they weren't, and leadership failed to pass this information down to us grunts lol.
I had some random guy from leadership I had never heard of jump into our comms with an attitude - I legit asked "Who are you?" and he banned me from PH immediately without even saying who he was. I still don't know to this day lol. I paid for the guys ship that we killed and they were cool with it, but PH didn't care and still banned me and my whole fleet of 16 players for causing a "Diplomatic Issue", even though the pilot/corp guy we killed was cool and said it was an honest mistake.
Real morale here is PH leadership has a weird ego, tread carefully. If they turn their backs on you for whatever reason, it makes it really tough to get into any other major corporation. Luckily, I got picked up by a reasonable group :)

Hi, how nice to see a video of yours again, it's always a pleasure, I really enjoy your way of making videos and approaching the EVE from a casual and direct point of view, without any restrictions or disrespect. I love your videos.
Regarding Pandemic Horde, I guess it happens the same as in many places, I'm a player since 2006 and I've seen how everything changes. The fear of spies and the lack of imagination in the game has made that the large PVP is simplified to hit F1, a shame, because this way you never learn anything new and you end up having sheep in your army instead of wolves.
What I like most every time I play EVE with more people is to be taught to sharpen my claws and teeth, not blindly follow an order that I don't know what it leads to.

Large fleet engagements are a drag. Sure, sometimes you're making history. But they are so slow and frustrating due to the server lag and Time Dilatation (TIDI). It's no fun to die to odd timing quirks and have your machine crash because the client (let alone the server) can't handle the load. I prefer low-sec where the fleets are more manageable.

    Hi!
I regularly leave and return to EvE, now your videos made me return again with a fresh character, so thanks! I used to be part of large null-sec groups for short times. I really loved to participate in large fleets, even tho I usually was only an e-war frig or tackler following the pilots with the big toys, but it felt I was part of something big and important. However, I really hated the rules and regulations of such groups. I can't do this in X system, I can't do that between Y and Z timeframe. I can't join to a fleet because I have only a t1 version of one damn module instead of t2. No matter otherwise my ship is perfectly fitted, one module is not perfect and I can't join. Last time I left the game I had to register on at least 4 different websites, 3 discord servers, gave my api code to at least two different parties and when I tried to join a fleet they said I can't cause I need to register on a fifth website, create a cold clone ingame and link it to a server.. I didn't even understand half of what they wanted from me and at that point I totally lost it and just left the game alltogether.
Never again... Bigger corps and alliances just makes your life harder and suck the fun out of the game.

I agree with many of your points, as a new player it would be very hard to make a living and have fun in null sec. The money makers are very slow and uneventful. I think that some people may like the play style of being a f1 button presser and watching action unfold. I dont agree that lowsec is the best, im baised but i think wormhole corps are the best. Lowsec can have many ups and downs and is very dependent on the amount of bling and money you can play with. In wormholes, most fights are brawly and more dependent on intel, not how much money and factoon ships you throw at it. Thanks for the video, it was very entertaining and have a good day😊

All these people in the comments saying about rules, obligations and that you're a cog. I challenge you to go and actually join yourself and not believe everything you've read.
If you leave the state owned mega corps I cant imagine its any different than a small wormhole one, you play with your buddies and attend alliance activities if you want.
I figured that's how it was for all 3 blocks or maybe I'm spoilt over here with the good goon life in a great corp.
    The rules are:
    1. Have fun
    2. Dont shoot blues
    3. Stick your API on the website
    4. Dont tell folks there are titans in 1dq (shhh, dont tell anyone I told you)
    5. Go on one fleet a month just to prove you're still alive.
    6. See rule 1
Been here 13 years, not been one single activity I've ever been told I couldn't do. If I want go welp a super unless I expect the alliance to pay for it or need to involve the alliance to help me do it then I'm free to welp away, isnt this how it is for everyone?

To be fair, there are plenty of "green" systems in neighboring regions, and they're only a few jumps away with the ansiblex networks, so new folks have access to way more than 3 systems. I haven't been with PH for that long, but I've spent a long time with other large and small nullsec groups over the years, the opsec stuff is pretty standard in any null group. You should try joining a wh outfit, that lot are the pinnacle of eve paranoia. I think your criticism of nullsec life is fair, and you're right, you can blanket bomb the same criticism across most nullsec groups, except maybe brave? brave are just special in their own special way, they're like the little train that could, but they're still a nullsec group. Eve is rarely fair, never mind home defense fleets, but it is so dependent upon the FC too, they need to want a fight and not just chase the opposing fleet off so everyone can get back to krabbing... fighting or krabbing... the eternal dichotomy of null...

I do logi so fly the scimi, try not to die was basically it. Then we moved to Paragon and Esoteria and became "members of imperium" (which, well on paper to me we are but I do not see myself as a goon) and it's pretty much the same, i still do whatever i want. It's only way more blues than neutrals and we're "encouraged" but not really required to do anything except be in CTA if we can (i.e. don't crab while CTA, but that's easy to cicumvent, some people just go offline for 30min and then "oh i guess missed fleet" and go right back to crabbing. Nobody cares), but they do advise normal stuff like dread alts and don't go running about in your super or 15b rorqual in the timezone when everyone is asleep but you. It's pretty relaxed, I'd say.

Sometimes it's frustrating not having the security to do some of the PVE content I want to in peace, but the people all know each other, there is a much greater element of knowing your corpmates and enjoying their company, and i get the level of PVP content I want to without feeling overwhelmed. i started in like 2011 (maybe 2012 idr) and joined Test as a 2-weeks fresh pilot, they were in Delve at the time. i didn't even know i could group my guns.
i think as a new player, joining a nullbloc can give you a jumpstart at learning a lot of the game mechanics you wouldn't normally get into if you stayed in highsec. the 'blue umbrella' gives you easy access to relatively decent income as a newer player, and you meet a number of different people.
i think i stuck with it for about a year, and just got really bored tbh--it's just not for me--each day was just line ships, logi or if you're involved in the cap wing, maybe dropping a dread or triage. i appreciate a lot of the smaller groups at this point, working in small gangs, playing a more specific role, lowsec/wormhole focus. i think i would have just been watering down my own experiences in eve if i had stayed solely in a nullbloc--but everyone's looking for something different out of the game, and i respect that.

Seat ( API access ) is pretty common now for a lot of serious corps / alliances. I know it isn’t the nicest experience to feel like you’re not trusted from the get go but if you were running a corp or alliance with a lot of assets would you really let in anyone without any checks? We all know the stories of spying and theft and on one hand its funny and interesting but its an understandable reaction by corps to want you to login to SEAT. You can revoke your api access to their Seat or what ever application they want to use to perform background checks. Its kind of expected that you’re not a noob pilot and you’ve heard of the theft and spying stories in EVE. You cant expect to join and be trusted straight away

While I 100% understand your reasoning for not doing ESI checks as a content creator, it is a little unfortunate as I think being able to join one of the smaller corps within horde would help resolve some of the issues you experienced. I’m a member of a horde corp on the small-medium size, and I enjoy going on fleets with the main alliance quite a bit. But when I want smaller scale PvP or just a closer knit community, my corp will often get together as 5-10 people and do small roams or mining fleets and just hang out together. It seems to me like you scratch that itch just fine hanging out in lowsec which is cool, just saying those smaller communities do exist under the horde umbrella too, either in smaller corps or “sigs” (basically interest groups). Until I had joined a null corp and the alliance, I was struggling but managed to find cool corp where people are nice and want to help you, fleets are not that strict and you can play how you like. But in the end, it all comes down to what playing style does any of those alliances provide. If they require you to have certain amount of kills and you are just not that kind of a player, then you go to the next one.
Sure, everybody now have to be careful about letting new players in because it can easy be the spy for the other side, but you can clearly see that even players that were fighting with others for 10+ years turn sides. So new players and spies and all that drama doesn't make sense. Anybody can be a spy and all of that can be done outside of your eve main account and away from others to see.

You need to embrace the defeat, learn from those mistakes that you made, not shove it below the carpet and hope none will go to clean the dust and dirt under it.
And there will always be someone that will go and look for those.
Eve is really transparent game when you look at it, you can clearly see how certain fight went trough, and I really don't know how can they just hide them from players... Unless they have players that doesn't check these things and can only see them trough YT videos, but then what about situation where Goons, Init or anyone else publish their video of victory battles against Horde or Frat? I did a tour in Null-sec in 2009. Just after the BOB alliance got "deleted". Ended up picking one of the left over corps. They established themselves in Stain. Or were trying to. With no "blue" space to all their own and most of the players in US timezone, when I logged in on a Saturday morning to go and try and make some money or even explore the area, it was full of neuts and reds and no blues. So you sat in the station. Then when the rest of the folks logged on around 4pm my time we would go out on a PVP roam and die. When the ISK ran out I was told to clone jump back to high-sec to make some ISK and then to spend 20Mil ISK on the frieghter jump to bring my own battle ship. Then I had to scrounge, bed, borrow and steal modules to fit it.... poorly. I couldn't even find sentries and went out on the first fleet with T1 mediums! Useless. Didn't get blown up though and when I quit they did "gift" me a jump out of the BS as a leaving gift. Dropped it in Reblier!
I'm considered going back out to null, but after another 5 year break I am back, but changing things up, I moved to low-sec, upgraded to 3 accounts and am trying to "nomad" / "solo" my settling in to my new home. Finding a lot of fun as the initial "fear" and nerves even undocking have softened up. The stress comes down with both successful escapes and losses. The more experience you get with both the less freaked out you are moving around.
PVP. I find it difficult to roam and look and find targets. Don't get me wrong, I can find targets, but I just run out of "will" to spend time hunting them down to get a warp in and even then, I'm honestly not the kind of person who wants to kill random strange players in ships that can't shoot back.
I am still self-sourcing/building/hauling in a T1 PVP ship stock pile. While the most PVP roamers who come through come from the C3 Wormholes that always seem to open in my home system and hare particularly scary... I am hoping to find a fair target eventually. I have spotted someone ratting in a vexor for example. That could be conceived as a valid combat target and also competition.
I think I might just move up to a T1 cruiser, vexor maybe as I have 2 tones with excellent drone boat skills and... a third as bait. If I can master multiboxing them in combat that is. Currently I'm only building up to running 2 toons on field at once. 3 will take a bit more practice and technique.

I'm in horde and maybe a little biased but I think you just ran into wrong people, some new guys with roles do get cocky alot, specialy that machiavelian. While I agree horde used to be more fun and had better fcs there are still alot of good ones that always explain whats going on after the fleet, usualy start with a sentence "Ok fleet now it's story time" and explain everything.
About blobing fleets in our space, ofcors a goal of a large nullsec alliance is to make their space as secure as possible for their money making activities, but there are still alot of times where fcs do limit the number of people and try to give fair fights to fleets like spectre and others, but not goons, because we actualy tried to give them fair fights but every time we went to their space they would form 2x or 3x numbers so there was actualy an announcament from our leader that since they won't give us fair fights we won't give them any.
As for your points about being just a number or a follower, yes, it is like that but it's like that anywhere unless you dive deeper and join some interest groups that gives you a special role in fleets or overall strategy. Reason why I like horde is that they give you infinite possibilities if you want to be more then just f1 monkey.
