Beware of Sculptra! In 2019 I went to a dermatologist to fix the acne scars on my face. I was told my face was too hollow and needed Sculptra to add more volume. I was told it was safe and there was nothing to worry about. After the procedure, I developed some large cystic lumps on my face. It took four and a half years to go away and left some scars after it dissolved. It was a nightmare! Never again.
I’m so sorry this happened? Did the dermatologist follow the proper procedure? Did they advise you to massage? I would like to know because I know people who have had great results.
prob this dermatologist wasn't trained well. I believe my dermatologist would never do skulptra treatment on someone with acne, i think she'd treat the acne 1st. probab a year later, she'd do the skuptra treatment. " just guessing" from how i know my doctor she's obsessed careful . truth is, i dont even know if this treatment is safe for acne skin.
I know that sculptra is not advised to inject under eyes (due to high chance of nodules), I have a very hollow under eyes, if injected elsewhere - cheecks etc, would it travel to under eyes and make them a but less hollow? Secondly, since sculptra travels, can it make my lower face even bigger (which i dont want since it feels already forming jowls and getting heavier)? thank you:)
This is an amazing video! I'm 41 and tried RADIESE for the 1st time last year and after 4 weeks i saw results, like incredible results. My dermatologist in brazil only used one vial only. and deff it will depend on the age and quality of the akin of each individual. I am about to do it again, i just love it! Great video xo!
I just want to let everybody know that the injection sites will be sore for several days afterwards! Nobody warned me of this. It's been 2 days and still hurts to chew my food.
I have a question for you, will any other topical procedures (such as Skin Pen etc.) have an impact on the Sculptra in the face? Would it dissolve? Melt? Disappear? what is your advice on this topic? are we erasing what we did with Sculptra if we do micro-needling, lasers, or facial exercises, etc.?
I'm not an MD or nurse but from my extensive personal experience it should not unless you are going very deeply with needling. I would avoid facial exercises. Sometimes doing too many procedures muddies the waters and you dont know what is working or not.
I had SUCH a bad experience with hyaluronic acid fillers and with fractional laser treatments over the course of two years that my husband is extremely reluctant to consent to any more “procedures”. I absorbed all of the HA fillers (Juvederm, etc) almost immediately, so despite all the expense, once the initial swelling went down, it looked as if I’d had nothing done! My husband was suspicious that they’d used sterile water instead of HA! As for laser resurfacing, I had four treatments over two years and had absolutely zero improvement. Even the dermatologist was frustrated, and gave me the last treatment for free. I’m just not sure what to do, since in our region of California (Silicon Valley), a face lift runs $100,000 to more than $120,000…that is not including the eyes or neck!!! And it requires seven hours of surgery, so an anesthesiologist has to be paid, too!!
@@Gioli565 A friend at my gym did that, and had to have it “repaired” to fix her eyelids. It cost more than everything else she had done in South Korea!

Looks great, the only thing that worries me is that I've noticed how in the after photos faces always seem wider, and mine is alreay squared enough ... Why does that happen?
Because when we are young our faces are more 3 dimensional and with Sculptra, I’m choosing to restore the global volume that we lose as we age so yes, the face will be more 3 dimensional when you restore the collagen, especially if you’re treating the temples and pre-auricular areas.
@@NaturalInjector this was definitely my question!! Thank you. I'm someone who had very full cheeks in my 20s just like all the women in my family. @@alexandrahill9280 Scultpra can definitely help bring back volume to your cheeks. I cannot advise if you should wait until it’s more pronounced unless I see your face but you should also base getting treated on if the volume loss currently bothers you.
Dr. Anil Rajani has treated thousands of patients with Sculptra. It may be very informative to watch his videos. Another MD to pay attention to is Dr. Gary Linkov.
Unfortunately I currently do not do EZ gel PRF so I cannot compare it to Sculptra. I am still thinking about bringing it on. The issue I’ve heard is it does not last long and I don’t believe, so far at least, that it’s clinically proven to stimulate collagen.
I've had PRF (x 4 sessions) and can confirm it lasted 3 to 4 months. Beautiful under eye result. Now at 7 months post treatment, I'm back to baseline photos. It doesn't last. Sadly!
@@diann3880no. Sculptra has its own problems of causing nodules so it needs fluid to lay down correctly and needs massage. EZ Gel is thick so it adds volume so you see the issue.
This filler craze has a lot of people looking crazy and disfigured but it’s so common that it almost looks normal now. Most of these people have no idea that they look completely mental. I really think people are going overboard. Aging sucks too. I don’t know what the answer is.
I found the idea of fillers silly the moment i hesrd about it. For me, j’ll never accept anything except fat transfers or stimulation. Injecting random gels in your skin is a bad long term strategy anybody with common sense could’ve seen that. I don’t know why modern aestheticians are so dumb

Im 45 and my injector said one vial should do it. My main concern was my lower cheeks creating a shadow near the sides of my mouth. I guess I will know in three months if she was right!
Hi Emily, great video. Can sculptra also be injected around nasal labial folds? Im in my 50 and have noticed some sagging around this lower face that I wish I could improve with sculptra. I don't want to use fillers. I really appreciate your expertise.
Great video! M on my second month of 2 vials of sculptra have noticed a little bit can’t wait for more results! How do you treat neck lines? Heard radiesse? ❤❤

I’m doing PRP to one spot of thinning here so I’ll keep everyone posted if it works well. Don’t think PRP to the face would stimulate collagen the way Sculptra would.
Hi, I had my first two vials Jan 19. They wanted me to come back 4 weeks later. I was very swollen and sore afterwards. I'm way more comfortable with your suggestion of waiting 3 months. I'm curious as to why no one else suggests every 3 months. Thanks
The 3 months is not a hard and fast rule. It depends on how the injector approaches sculptra. Some like to see some progress sooner so they have patient co e in at 6 weeks to evaluate. The important thing is that you are evaluated and properly treated.
@@linafelina It doesn’t give the same look as filler does. When filler sits under the skin, if too much is placed, it can give the skin a firmer appearance. Sculptra stimulates your own collagen and elastin and this feels like your very own skin. So I’m more of a sagger than a sinker and I still have fat in my face but starting to see jowls as I enter menopause. Would Sculptra help lift the sagging cheeks or would I not be a good candidate? I’m afraid my face would look even fatter if I get this. I’m naturally thin but have always had a lot of “baby fat” in my face which has helped me look youthful until the sagging started. I notice my cheeks have descended but the fullness is still there.
I have same issue. I had buccal fat removal in my early 40s (squirrel cheeks, genetic), loved it but needed a lower f/l in late 40s ..no regrets. My own daughter now in 40s had sculptra recently, she also has full lower face, has wonderful results..maybe if focus is on upper face vs lower?
I'm thinking that i should get only 2 vials because I'd like to keep some definition. But will it be done in one session, or is it better to divide them in 2?
I'm not sure if you've covered this in another video (and if so I apologize) but can you use sculptra in your under eye area? As someone who is not a good candidate for under eye filler I'm looking for other alternatives to help with that area.

Sculptra has ruined my beautiful face - I (38 fem) had two sessions of sculptra this year (1 vial per session) and it has completely changed my features. I am devastated. Great video, thank you! I have a lot of volume loss in my temples, I'm early 40s, lean but not excessively thin, and I Powerlift. Will sculptra help or is fat transfer a better option in general for the temple area?
Hi Jennifer. Glad you enjoyed the video. Although both treatments can give volume to the temple area It’s a bit hard to compare the 2 treatments as fat transfer is a surgery whereas Sculptra is not, it’s non-invasive. I don’t perform fat transfers as I’m not a surgeon but I imagine it’s one and done for several years with a fat transfer. Sculptra is less invasive and you will likely need a few treatments but you don’t have to undergo surgery.

Can you use Scupltra in marionette lines? I’ve had 3 vials so far. Age 45. I saw great results after the 1st 2 vials and got nervous so only got 1 at follow up. It’s been a total of 5 months and i do believe need more. Now idk if I should get 1 or 2. It’s nerve wracking because I’m so afraid to over do it.
You can use a Sculptra to the marionette lines, very sparingly. I also feel there will always be a place for hyaluronic acid filler to the marionette lines, lips, and perioral area. Chances are you may need more Sculptra. I would definitely follow up with your provider.
I’ll be doing another video about Radiesse vs Sculptra but it may take awhile as the company that makes Sculptra is doing a study as we speak on the differences and I’m awaiting their results
@@NaturalInjector my 1st treatment last year actually was Radiese and i could see INCREDIBLE results in only 3 weeks of treatment ... what my dermatologist explained to me is that, Radiese is better for younger skin, in my particular case i'm 41 and she found that my skin quality was good and not so old for my "age". as a result, she rather use Radiece on younger skins bc the results is way more natural and not so "aggressive" as sculptra " she said", when we talking about younger skin ... different from Radiese, she prefers to use Sculptra in older skin like 50+ and or 45+ depending on the quality of that particular patient. Anyways, i dont know if you agree or not. im just adding my experience because it might help somehow and im also open to hear your opinion as well. xoo

How much did you all pay for these Scultpra vials you’ve gotten in your states? I am seeing a big difference in between clinics and would like to understand what is the average cost per vial.
I usually don’t have to pay because I work in the field but the cost does vary by state and by practice. Maybe you can Google what the average price per vial of Sculptra is. I charge $925
My derm did my first session of Sculptra last week, fillers in February. Returning in 5 weeks for second session. I did hear a youtube dr. say Sculptra enhances filler but I don't recall all the details.

I need to know if you heard anything about Reversal injections it's a Korean product, it's a PLA+HA . Because when I went to my doctor to ask him about sculptra, he told me that Reversal injections do the exact thing .I want to do sculptra but unfortunately, we don't have it in our country, can I do Reversal instead?
I have not heard of Reversal. I didn’t realize Sculptra was not available in Korea. If it’s PLA it can probably stimulate collagen but Scultpra is just PLLA with no HA acid. My only issue with products that are a filler and a collagen stimulator is how are you going to decipher how much collagen stimulation you got when you’re doing a filler at the same time that’s gonna give you correction. I guess you would know when the effects of the HA are gone and you still feel the areas are corrected
Does the way it’s injected matter? My provider likes to place a few bollus deep in the cheeks to the bone. nearly 2 months later and I don’t notice any difference. Going for a second session soon but I’m wondering if the method of injecting matters. Can you do a video on how it’s done?
I actually do those depot injections too. I didn’t always but now I do. It takes 3 full months until most of the collagen is built so you may not notice it a 2 months and even if you wait you may not notice it with only one treatment. Sometimes it takes a few treatments

Good question😊. Please someone answer this..
Same happens to me. Filler only lasts a month... or less. Huge waste of money

They also actually took care of me afterwards unlike in the states.

Not sure. I know some providers do suggest every 3 months. Glad you found the video helpful!
The 3 months is not a hard and fast rule. It depends on how the injector approaches sculptra. Some like to see some progress sooner so they have patient co e in at 6 weeks to evaluate. The important thing is that you are evaluated and properly treated.
is there a risk of getting pilllow face? I have chubby cheeks that are starting to droop
@@linafelina It doesn’t give the same look as filler does. When filler sits under the skin, if too much is placed, it can give the skin a firmer appearance. Sculptra stimulates your own collagen and elastin and this feels like your very own skin. I keep pulling my skin back in the mirror... and what a difference it makes. I'm about to duct tape my face back until I get sculptra. Pushing 40, btw.
I hope you can get Sculptra soon! Thanks for sharing your story Amy. I love Sculptra for the areas you mentioned. Your cheekbones are likely more pronounced because of the loss of volume to the temples and mid cheek area
Im 29 and want to do preventative care to maintain college, how would I know if I need this and if I don’t need it now if I should start or maybe micro needling or morpheus as preventative care :)
There really is no way that I can tell you if I think you are a good candidate, except if we do a virtual consultation which I offer.
A 29 ans vous êtes déjà inquiète ?
hello, I would love to ask: if I got my e.g. first 3 treatments, do I need to get all three every 6-9 month? or is one treatment enough, and just keep doing this on a regular basis? thanks a lot
@@nadya6582 I’m afraid that I cannot advise when I have not seen your face. I do offer virtual consults though
Does sculptra can cause lumps?
It’s possible and I discussed that in this video 👉 ua-cam.com/video/iV8Jm1oJGL0/v-deo.html
